this is why 003 has no elders ...they are killed everyday for lands inheritance
Evrery buddy in this world most get free hous and land because god give all people in this world the country land but the systeem wants you to paying evrery thing that ypu can find fore free in this world genertion to genertion they paying fore the hous and land to have it.
@@joanieblackman7128Free land? Fanya kazi acha upuzi. Nani atakupea shamba yake bure. As for food, if it is free what will be the motivation for people to produce it. We unaeza lima season mzima upee watu chakula bure? Communism doesn't work and never will
I am from Kenya different tribe from one in the documentary and I cannot let anyone hurt my parents ,I cannot even imagine how someone can hurt his own mother or father just because you want to takeover their own property that they worked hard for
We know of different tribes that have slashed their parents and grandparents to death because of land. Tuseme ukweli.

He, she's talking about himself/herself. Not about Africa or the whole world.
This is so heartbreaking
I feel their pains 😢😢😢
May God comfort them and protect them fully
Thanks Njeri fot your intervention
God will bless you abundantly
As Africans, we are really broken beyond repair to the point where inflicting pain on an elder has become an acceptable thing💔
I know people from Kenya to be the most PEACEFUL AND HUMBLE PEOPLE ON THIS EARTH
🇿🇦
What a lovely comment. Thanks
Heart breaking 💔 watching from India 🇮🇳
This has been going on across all African countries..
Even my mother was called a witch by her own daughter
😢This is difficult to watch 😢 with this mindset with this mentality will Africa ever know development and growth??GOD BLESS AFRICA GOD BLESS THE BBC!
I grew up on a street called Haddington in Banjul,The Gambia. It is rumoured to be replete with witches thought I've seen more. Watching this makes me immensely glad our lives werent under threat...
The truth is we have no country in the next 10 years!!! No justice In Kenya.
I HAAAATE wickedness so MUCH!! How can I support??? oh Lord let me help some of these elder! Especially the man who went back to his family but the family (his wife) wasn’t happy to see him at all!😢 and the poor old woman crying for her husband!😭 Lord have mercy on Africa! We the new generation need to do better! We need our elders just as much they need us!!!!! Oh Africa let us fight for our country and love and protect each other! Turn away from evil and fear the Lord!💔
Njeri mwangi, this is deep.God give you grace to bear and bare such stories.
I'm lost for words. An eye opening documentary indeed. Good job Njeri 👏🏻👏🏻
Njeri did an amazing story, so compassionate reporter May God continue too Bless you and Your husband for allowing you to freely give your self to this mighty work. Thank You., may you both have a long healthy happy and prosperous life.
Her husband allowed her or, this is her work/ profession?
I'm speechless...my grandmother died at 88 but l still miss her.😢😢
Very well researched and presented. Good work Njeri. Keep on keeping on....
True love mum.May you find favor and grace.May you find protection
When asked if he had ever accused his father of witchcraft, Chris did not say no, he said not yet. Terrible son.
He's ignorent also that there's a saying that goes,"A snake gives birth to a snake"...One day he also will be in the frying pan.
May i be a blessing to my parents and our elderly. its painful what our generation is putting them through in the name of land.
I feel sad that this is happening in my home country Kenya at this day and age 😢
I have always loved the way BBC handles their documentary and stories ,I have always felt a sense of satisfaction each time
Reporter is a beautiful woman.
Its a lucky man who gets her.
Its a dang shame about those precious elders being taken.
I cant imagine the horror.
The decorated reporter, Njeri Mwangi, is the wife of Kenyan activist Boniface Mwangi. Together, they have 3 children.
I love the way you present any case in ur table 😢❤🎉
It's so good that this was finally documented - I do pray that the authorities act on this shame...
Omg!Kenya will rain fire one day But God will save us His own. This is beyond WICKEDNESS
Africa's biggest problem is itself.
And thinking they could give a lesson about humanity to the world.

This is really painful. The young family members who are killing their elderly relatives forget they will grow old as well.
Mungu nijalie nipate mke mwenye upendo kama huuu amen
Very heartbreaking and sad in such a beautiful place. The lady is outwardly strong but you can tell the anguish runs deep.
Its painful to see all this, how Tambala's wife love her husband so deep, the pain they endure is so strong😢
It is so unreal i am a native of Kilifi lack of education poverty land problems started with the government marginalizing we Mijikenda not issuesing title to land owners they do so during political campaigns so as to gather votes if you may want to assist please 🙏 start by education so that we may understand before 😢😢😢😢 taking action
bt some are evil spirit behind it not normal at all 😢
The tears of the old are not to be taken for granted the youth are not being serious..this is not right
Some violent cultural practices are still engrained in some cultures. Just like FGM, or child marriage, abuse of the elderly should be a capital offence. The law has to meet this barbaric practises.
Documentary is very true! Once witnessed an old man🇰🇪 walking in the road being told to never walk In that specific place. The youth confronting him believed he was casting spells of witchcraft
I know nothing about the history of demonising witches in Africa but in Europe it was intended to split up community women couldnt gather anymore or it was a coven and remove knowledge of and connection to land as a relationship. It is submitting to the enticement of capitalism and moving toward white ways. No good will come of it. Tis an insatiable beast
It amazes me that so much ignorance exists on the continent. I've been to various countries throughout the continent and there seems to be a curse of decadence or lack of humanity on the people. There's no future without addressing the mindset.
I have watched dozens of painful documentaries, but this one is above all. Such a sad situation to live as an elder!
Prayers for everyone in Africa.
Prayer won't save Africa.
Jaylin, this is rural Kenya not africa. prayers for everyone across americas because land grab is vey real in the uS also.
@@PHlophe Rural Kenya is not in Africa???? OMG...feather brains really exist
@@isaymymind1727 Africa is a CONTINENT . rural Kenya is a tiny portion of the very large CONTINENT that is nearly twice as large as Europe. Perhaps you should buy yourself a new brain because the one that screwed on top of your current rig has expired.

Our men in uniforms went to Haiti yet Ours parents/grandparents are being butchered by Ours own. ..i found myself crying and praying for them vulnerable elderly 😢😢
Its very heartbreaking to see such, may God protect our parents from lazy children and thugs.
I wish I did not come across this. It has ruined my day completely. I am a Kenyan in my 50's and very proud of our people but this made me really sad and I cried like a baby. Life is so cruel to see the contradictions in which we live today. In Europe people work day and night to afford a piece of land back home, yet those with land at home cannot live in peace for fear of their lives! Katana is a gifted man whose talent and quality of life was snatched with no basis at all. I love the documentary and I think BBC should be accountable for the "truths" they make public. They should at least make some contribution and perhaps start a fund-raising campaign to get some prosthetic aids for Katana. This way, he can have some of his independence back e.g. eating, washing and above all some dignity....so heart-breaking. His wife... well, I reserve that to the Lord.
Oooh Lord.. have mercy on these people… the wife pain is killing me… nooooo why people are sooo cruel
