Good to see a big fella out there riding. I am 60 years old and my brother-in-law is 64 years old and weighs about 275 we both still get out on the water let the big guys rule.
I’ve haven’t gotten the chance to ride the Yamaha but just watching this video I can see that Sea-Doo trixx blows this thing out of the water. The water wheelies aren’t even in the same category, the only thing the Yamaha can do is go 55 and everything else is basically stolen from the trixx
Glad to see the smaller, lighter machines making a comeback. Still have my ‘93 WaveBlaster that I bought from my buddy when it was two years old and I still would never trade it for anything! It is the ultimate trick machine imo although the SeaDoo XP and 3D came close.
Man, yamaha did some tricky things with this model. It's basically a 2021 EXR with different bars, trim, and footholds and it actually weighs more than the 2021 EXR. I've had two of these and ridden them a decent amount and the biggest thing that separates them from the spark trixx is they can't do the wheelies that a trixx can. It does have more power though and can turn better.
I've been out on mine twice now. On flat water, 50+ is no big deal, but in a busy lake with lots of wakes you start to go airborne somewhere between 30 and 40mph. I like that you have to read the water and work with it instead of just cruising over everything. It is a real workout and I don't see myself getting bored of it.
Ngl kind of underwhelmed by this, the spark looks more agile, gets the nose up slightly higher somehow has more storage even though it's absolutely tiny and costs the exact same. Yamaha should've tried a little harder
@@mikestanley4457 Long term reliability will go to the Yamaha. The trixx May wheelie better but it’s still a plastic hull / deck which isn’t near as solid as this machine.
Have a 2021 spark 3 up convenience package and after having it over a year now I definitely do love it. No issues at all so far and same battery. The only thing I’ll tell anyone in there market for a spark or this wave runner is don’t expect it to handle rough water well or be comfortable after riding for over 30 min. I bought the aftermarket seadoo seat for the spark and it by far makes a huge difference. So much more comfortable and I feel like it does handle rough water better. Both skis are great but I will say, if you plan on keeping either one of these for more than 3 plus years… then I’ll just say get a bigger ski like a gti130 or the wave runner FX. Still can fling them around while also going for longer rides.
Interesting... I have both your recommendations: A Seadoo Spark Trixx but he 2-UP model (smallest lightest ski with an ECU tune for 110HP, to replace my old 96 XP); and a Yamaha FX-SVHO (also with an ECU tune to open it up to ~300HP and 71-72mph). I've had many Seadoos and Yamahas over the years. The Seadoos are a bit more fun to drive, but imo they are over-engineered, hard and expensive to repair, and seem to be less reliable than the Yamahas. Just my opinion...
@@Tanmancoolio good question, I'm not sure. I went with the 2-Up because I wanted small, light and something to replicate my old XP. I've seen folks on 3-Ups and they seem to be able to do wheelies just fine. I've noticed that if I have more than 1/2 tank of fuel, it's harder to do wheelies so I keep it less.
I’m taking delivery of mine tomorrow! Ski is literally perfect for what I want to do and at a great price tag. I heavily considered the sparx trixx but ultimately I didn’t like you have to remove the clam shell to service it as I’m going to do all my own service. I do like how they didn’t use the carbon seal design on the trixx though. Def an advantage. But ultimately I decided the jet blaster, with e trim and the most reliable engine in the pwc world, the tr1, it sold me heavily. Great review, probably the best one on UA-cam right now.
I've two of the new jet blasters and a few trixx and they definitely are different. The yamaha turns better and has more power but can't do the wheelies so it's just a trade off.
@@wtrfishing2857 hell yeah good to know! It seems the Yamaha is the better choice for a longer ownership, imo. I can also wheelie bikes pretty well so I’m curious if I can get the jet blaster close to the trixx wheelies because they do look really fun!
@@anthonybrz Unfortunately, its not even close. The hull is too heavy to do wheelies, but you can trim it all the way up and do some cool jump spins but yeah you can't go wrong with the TR1
This is like the same machine as the Yamaha Wave Raider 1100 they made in the 90s. Same Power, Same weight, Same fun. Comparing the two would be great.
Yes that’s quite true, the two vehicles are very similar in weight, dimensions, power etc. I had the WR1100 back in the 1990’s and 2000’s and now I have an EXR. When I first rode the EXR I was thoroughly impressed with the power, handling, light weight and low end responsiveness of the TR1/EXR combination. So impressed that I am waiting delivery of a 2022 JetBlaster.
What elevation are you doing test at on jetblaster. My 24 jetblaster is only getting 7650rpms wide open. I am 2000 feet not sure if that might be why. Thanks
I've had my 1995 Yamaha Wave Raider since new (so that's 27 years!), 701 two cylinder 2 stroke, it weighs 385 lbs and goes 57 mph with me on it! It's a rocket and I love it's light weight, can toss it around fairly easily. It cost me $4800 new. I really think it will last forever cause it still runs like when I bought it. But your right about rough water - it's too light to enjoy on windy, rough water days. Can't complain a bit though.
Although both jet ski's fall under the "rec light" category, there is a significant difference in price and what you get for that. For price, if you're looking for something cheap and light just to get out on the water to have a good time on, then it's the Sea Doo Spark/Trixx. If you have the money to buy a wave runner, then buy a Sea Doo GTI which is a much better jet ski for the same price.
Incorrect. Having owned both Sea-Doo and Yamaha waverunners. The Yamaha:s require little to no maintenance at all and just keep going and going with being ridden hard and put away wet.. Sea-Doo on the other hand you can do all the maintenance in the world and there will be lots of parts to replace very soon. Sea Doo ski Doo any of those don't know how to make dependable and for that reason recommending them in any fashion is irresponsible.
@@asswhole010 I completely disagree. Your opinion is coming across as disingenuous. Here I was thinking you wanted to be taken serious in your videos. Sea Doo holds over 50% of the market share for a reason. A couple years back they had an issue with their carbon ring due to a shortage of marerial in Mexico where they were produced, but there is little concern for that on the more recent models. Every manufacturer has their "issues". You can pretty much google every jet ski model to see what their issues are. Bottom line, the GTI is a much better jet ski at the same price point. GTI has been well known to be the #1 jet ski of choice for the same price point as a waverunner. It's why some of the biggest names in jet ski reviews and discussions recommend the GTI 170 as the top entry level jet ski to buy outside of the rec lite category. You're doing a serious disservice to your audience recommending a waverunner over a GTI.
They like Polaris side by sides hold market share by building a product that entices people to buy it and they make their money on the comeback for parts and maintenance. I know because I've been around it my whole life. You can rag the shit out of a Yamaha and it will just keep going.. I've towed many seadoo skidoos artic cats home. Very rare to ever need to tow a Yamaha in My experience. Perfectly genuine comments. Sea-Doos may very well be fun and they may even be fast but in my experience not for very long.
@@asswhole010 If you're basing the difference solely on your personal experience around the maintainence of each, why even bother doing a comparision video of the features? Nothing in you Spark vs Waverunner video talks about maintenance. You could have made a 2 min long video and just say don't buy a seadoo due to its issues. Your video talked about fearures and comforts. Naturally a jetski that cost $3000 more will have more comfort and features over the cheaper product. Keeping it apples to apples, comparing a waverunner to a GTI should be viewed on what each is bringing to the table at the same pricepoint feature and comfort wise. And in that comparision, the GTI wins hands down. Even Kevin Shaw from The Watercraft Journal says the best entry jetski is the GTI 170. I'm sure you'll agree the Kevin Shaw is well informed enough and has the extensive knowledge to make that claim since PWC's has been his whole life and has raced before. I don't think he would mislead his viewers into buying a seadoo GTI over a Waverunner. He's more of a Kawasaki guy now. Honestly, you're the only reviewer I have seen so far with the opinion that seadoos are extremely unreliable, outside from those who are Yamaha fanboys.
First of all I believe you're confused. I didn't make this video. I'm just commenting on your comment. Commenting about my personal experience with many pwc's over time. And as I've said Sea-Doo doesn't have dependability on its side when in comparison to the Yamaha's. You can disagree and that's fine I assume you're trying to sell Sea-Doos though because I've never seen one hold up.
Now that looks like something very promising, not to big not to small has good speed and stability and still flickable for tricks and jumping waves. Could do the bay then head over to Lake Erie!!!
I love the Honda aquatrax f12x, tried multiple jetskis and it’s by far my favorite, what’s the most comparable jet ski in todays age? Looking to buy something similar
I would say the spark feels a bit cheep but after I bought my spark I wouldn’t change it. If your a bit bigger I would Suggest the Yamaha. If your a bit lighter I would suggest the spark. The plastic is there for a reason on the spark and it makes the machine so light. If you want to cruise and do a bit of tricks, or take a friend or 2 get the Yamaha. If you want to ride solo then take the spark. It’s mainly about the size and what you prefer as fun. The spark weighs 400 LBS and the Yamaha weighs 550. The spark has high impact resistance so you can hit the waves pretty good and not worry too much if you land wrong (about the machine not operator). The Yamaha I’m not too sure.
Also can't beat Seadoo's unreliably. Absolute fucking garbage; and not just their skis, but their snowmobile counterpart Skidoo are fucking junk as well. I see those pieces of shit broken down everywhere
I own a 97 xp and it is really fun and very tippy/hard to double on with bigger people. But does do 55mph. How would this compare for doubling or pulling a tube? Thanks
Interesting review and comparison, but what about the closed loop cooling system of the Sea Doo? That is the main reason I went with the Sea Doo Spark! I don't have to worry about crap going into the cooling parts.
Thinking of getting a santa cruz and towing a seadoo (or similar). Was thinking about the wake 170 so that I could get more utility out of it when on vacation. However I'm not an avid wake boarder to begin with. So I wonder if a smaller, cheaper seadoo would be appropriate for wake boarding, water skiing, inner tubes, etc. Since you know everything about the santa cruz and about PWCs what would you think is the perfect pairing?
If you are wanting to get out all day on a runner/doo/ski you will want a level about the EX or spark hull. I have a Jet blaster and its a blast and fun to thrash around but if I'm going for a long ride I get out the GTX or the RTX. While the jet blaster and spark are powerful enough to ski/tube behind its really not made to do it.
Sigh. Compared to an actual blaster this is just sad. It's almost double the weight and size, and it requires trim to get the nose in the air? That's not a blaster. It's nice to see that they're beginning to realize that people don't solely want giant 3 man boats, but they should have gone further.
@@VR-jg5fz there's something about being more durable, but the fact that the trixx is so easily fixable is also kind of a point towards it. If you mess up the jetblaster you really messed it up. But yeah a smaller wave blaster type ski would be awesome but everything needs to be bigger these days because of the 4 stroke engines.
Is it you that sucks at wheelies or is it the PWC? I can get the trixx nearly vertical. And no speaker mount? No telescopic handlebars? Trixx puts this thing to shame
I'm an all-out Yami fan but it looks like the Ski-doo trixx bests this "Blasta". Maybe in a few years yamaha will pass up the Doo but not at the moment
That thing will never be able to do what a 2022 trixx 2up can handle . With a trixx the Willie's are literally straight up vertical. Show me touring and sport mode . Trixx would do 180s in a blink of a eye . Sorry but jetblaster stay short my opinion.
These companies are just not getting it. I would love to buy a brand new machine that could even come close to the Seadoo XP Limited that was discontinued 20 years ago. Fortunately I still have a pristine machine that totally leaves all others in awe….and watching the trickery, speed, agility. Maybe it wasn’t such a good thing when all the baby boomer design people retired.
The Yamaha is 50% more expensive? 7:56 . Thats way too expensive if it is competing with the spark. The reason spark was successful was it brought the price way down. There are a lot better skis for 15k CA than this. My guess is Yamaha fans who would never buy a sea doo would like this. Anyone new to PWC market and is price aware won't buy this.
It’s 50% more of an all round watercraft too. It’s not competing with the Spark imo, it’s far more accomplished than the Spark. Try towing two tubes simultaneously with the Spark ? Try taking your partner out for a run across a lake or up a river with the Spark. The JetBlaster is also far better (smoother) than the Spark across the ocean and choppy waters. Just hop on a JetBlaster and take one blast of the throttle and you might be shocked by throttle response of the TR1 engine.
NIGHTMARE!!!!! I bought a 2022 fx cruiser HO. Screen won't turn on sometimes. One time at the lake the entire screen freaked out and thought I was out of the geo fence. Kept screaming at me. Couldn't turn it off or change the settings as somehow the code changed. Yamaha could care less. Offered no support. My boat has been at the dealers for over a month. Frustrated does not even cover it. I hope you have better luck me.
Sport. It this is junk compared to a trixx as you don’t see any of these on the lakes maybe one out of 50 sea doo’s and Yamaha knows they can’t complete….It’s bigger heavier and the wheelies you keep talking about it not a wheelie by any means and ski with trim can do exactly what you showed a trixx will literally stand straight up and down go ride one of them then do a comparison
After watching the full video, the JetBlaster does have some advantages, such as higher speed, and a deeper phone storage for example. The mirrors are a nice touch (if they come standard, cause you can get them for the trixx). In the end of the day, competition is key for innovation and moving the sport forward.
Agree with all these points! And yes, the Trixx wheelies are properly vertical compared to the JetBlaster. Both fun machines, just a little different here and there.

Man looks like he got it out of the reduced section in lidl
Is it you that sucks at wheelies or is it the PWC? I can get the trixx nearly vertical. And no speaker mount? No telescopic handlebars? Trixx puts this thing to shame
and less of a price!🤣 this thing is 1500 more than the 2up trixx and it's horrible considering you can get so much out of a trixx instead of this🤣
I'm an all-out Yami fan but it looks like the Ski-doo trixx bests this "Blasta". Maybe in a few years yamaha will pass up the Doo but not at the moment
I love my 96 XP 787
Dude the sea doo spark go vertical wheelies with me who weighs 120 pounds
does it have reverse?
Yes I have one
“That wasn’t graceful” 😂
Breaks my heart to see the name and colors of the blaster in this big pig
Good video but the trixx wheelie is a steeper angle.
Dude you can't wheelie. It doesn't have wheels. And I will definitely keep my spark. I'm 5'9 260 and don't have any problem getting back on.
That thing will never be able to do what a 2022 trixx 2up can handle . With a trixx the Willie's are literally straight up vertical. Show me touring and sport mode . Trixx would do 180s in a blink of a eye . Sorry but jetblaster stay short my opinion.
I'll stick to my 94 wave blaster
this thing looks nowhere near as fun as a spark trixx.
It’s similar except it’s not a big hunk of plastic!
@@pajamatime5750 also starts at over 2 grand more id hope it’s better quality
@@justinanderson181 That’s true! You’d expect better quality for sure
Facts 🤣
He says he’s doing a water wheelie 😭😭 The ski is at a 45 degree angle
If I rode that and did wheelies I’d look like I was constipated lol
It looks like a smoothed out trixx
Excellent review. And great job on shaving that scraggly beard, lol.
😁
Power to weight ratio is better on the trixx
wow just get a vintage stand up, other than that its a great sit down lol
Modern skis and prices 1995 XP would wax this 15K machine
i wouldnt say its better than a trixx in terms of rideability. i think the yamaha does have better finishes but is lesser on performance
How is this still slow then a GP 1200!? PWC will never be as great as the 97 wave runner
It's just a renamed EXR
These companies are just not getting it. I would love to buy a brand new machine that could even come close to the Seadoo XP Limited that was discontinued 20 years ago. Fortunately I still have a pristine machine that totally leaves all others in awe….and watching the trickery, speed, agility. Maybe it wasn’t such a good thing when all the baby boomer design people retired.
stephen shaved he looks different
thats not water wheelie lol .. seadoo trix still does it better it can do 12 oclock lol
exactly!
why not just buy a second hand stand-up like sx-r 800 or superjet
My stock 96 s\Seadoo XP is faster than that and more fun ...
Cant handle as well though. *skip skip skip* on the water :P
@@Winner3ty My 97 XP would out maneuver it.
@@MegaKencam Our 90s kawi's could easily out maneuver those.
@@Winner3ty My old zxi sure couldn't
@@MegaKencam I can turn on a dime on our 750 stand up. Never liked seadoos for how they hop on the water if you take a turn hard.
Did you get it fixed?
After a bunch of heartache and hassle, I got a new screen. It’s been working thus far but I have to say I have my fingers crossed.
Meh. I'll keep my Waveblaster and Superjet. Thanks though
It’s pretty much a copycat in Yamaha quality but $5000 CDN difference is a lot of money
15k can get you a used 300. Hell yeah just do it.
Guy can’t even pronounce YAMAHA correctly and wants to read out of a manual to explain to us what a ski is like lmfao 🤣
Ngl spark still better.
Sorry but that water wheelie is absolutely pathetic compared to the Spark
That ain't a water wheelie... that's pathetic. The Trixx can do it SOOOOO much better. WTF?
After watching the full video, the JetBlaster does have some advantages, such as higher speed, and a deeper phone storage for example. The mirrors are a nice touch (if they come standard, cause you can get them for the trixx). In the end of the day, competition is key for innovation and moving the sport forward.
Agree with all these points! And yes, the Trixx wheelies are properly vertical compared to the JetBlaster. Both fun machines, just a little different here and there.
So it’ll probably do over 60 with a smaller riser lol
No way
@@justthisguy1948 all day, dude this guy is like 300 lbs, I’m 140, loosing that much weight increases speed a shit ton bud
@@jaycevessier7554 doesn’t matter it’s not hitting 60
@@justthisguy1948 ok cool guy
@@jaycevessier7554 I have a vx1800 that barely does 60 there is no way this does it it claims top speed is 53 under ideal conditions which that might be true
I still like my spark better Yamaha copied sea doo
1:45 a "water wheelie"??? Are you frkn serious?? Anyone that rode by us saying they were doing a water wheelie would be laughed right out of the water.
This guy is commentating this like it's a real deal commentary worthy necessary subject and absolutely ridiculous. And "burnouts"? So absurd.
That junk has nothing on the seadoo spark trixx
It really doesn't. Trixx is a really awesome machine. Looks leaps ahead of this thing. Coming from a yamaha fan.
Not fast enough
Definitely not a trixx killer, but a wannabe though
Yeah ma ha?
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Every Jet Ski will be better than a Spark, because they are the worst.
It is just a worse version of they spark trix for more money
Buy a seadoo trixx this thing looks boring compared to the crazy trixx
Lol $15K.
That should not have the blaster name in it There is no way an actual blasir would be stable with your big a** sitting on top of it like that Less stable equals more fun That should be called the EX tricks L o l
It sure did move fatty around😂
Yam 🍠 aha
Proof that the Yamaha blaster is garbage and to long lol sparks trixx so much easier to drift and wheelie …
Sugar coat removed* You suck at testing these types of skis. Get an athletic person to try them out. Not everyone is as fat as us..
Sweetpotatoha
Ooooooote
#jetsurf
This thing is garbage compared to the trixx.
Its 2023 and yamahas still pee... smh
That color scheme though 🤢 🤮
