@@j0j0dartiste21 in the 90s they tried to pass Rush off like a Dennis Miller type, but any time he spoke, the audience would call it out as trash. It got so bad they had to remove the audience for him to finish. And Miller was doing movies and interactive CD Roms, so there's a grift to this.
Objectively could learn more about life, the world, and being a better person by rolling in actual pigshit n consuming slop than listening to any Rush Limbaugh program.

I love the story Dan Carlin tells of when he got fired from his talk radio gig in the '90s. Apparently, it was while Rush. Limbaugh was getting big and his producers were trying to push him to go in a more right wing noodle brained direction, and he punched one of them in his office.

I love the bit about the low energy regional Rush Limbaughs in every market. I used to live in the western edge of the NC piedmont which, outside of Charlotte, Greensboro, etc., is the kind of place where Democrats don't even bother to run candidates in some races. There was some dude whose name I don't remember (it was probably something stupid like Ted Burtman) and he was our uncharismatic boring knock-off Rush Limbaugh. He was on the same crappy AM radio station that would broadcast Limbaugh, except he was stuck in a worse timeslot. And, like Matt said, he was absolute trash. You couldn't even get angry listening to that dullard. I remember he had a segment that was called "Gay Minute" or "Gay Update" where this silly background music played and he kind of awkwardly read news pieces about how this alphabet person filed a lawsuit to remove pronouns from the Arby's menu or something similarly inconsequential. I guess it was supposed to be funny or entertaining to someone.
