- In this video, I show how I removed the rusty stuck brake drum with my modified 3-jaw puller and how I removed the stuck hub & bearing from the trailing arm, the spacer and the backing plate with my home made hub tool.
I explained how I removed most of the rust on some parts.
The torque specs are also show during the procedure.
Wish this had been uploaded three weeks ago. It took me about 5hrs to remove mine 😅
Great video Maestro!
Well done Champ! My goodness, that Patriot needs new trailing arms and a rear crossmember!!
Another great video of yours! One question though, was there a reason to not coat with anti-seize between the new hub and the big cylindric hole you sanded with the power tool at 4:33?
Yes...because my vehicle is more than 14 years old, it is slowly rusting and I will get rid of it far before this new hub assembly has to be replaced.
In Canada the road salt that is used during winter to melt the ice on the roads causes severe rust damages to most vehicles, so eventually it is not worth it to spend too much time and money on some vehicles.
Normally I apply anti-seize on the hub and on the drum, but, I did not apply any when I filmed this video because I am thinking about filming a drum brake adjustment procedure in a week or two.
@@mtlcarguy I agree. I drive a 2010 Jeep Patriot in the New England area. Same !
Thank you
You doing great
How do i change the fuel filter? Could you help please
It is part of the fuel pump module assembly inside the fuel tank and the filter itself is not serviceable

@@christopherlitton696 As far as I know, it is the same model of hub and bearings.
