  • @alecs1196

Ethan?!! This house was built in 1925, and has only ever had two owners (Neither of whom was Gianni Versace.. whom FYI never lived in Toronto? Where/how did you ever come up with that one? LOL) Although it is only a three bedroom house, it was the centerpiece of a large 7 acre estate, until it was sold the first time in 1982 when the property was subdivided by slicing off 2 large lots from each side on and two from the rear opening onto a side street. However, the gardens, ponds and tennis court, along with the circular front drive and fountain, remained with the house on the center lot. Those same 2nd owners (who lived there until 2022) did those renos and additions you noted at that time, along with the biggest exterior change which was to change the distinct bright orange (and leaky!) original terra-cotta spanish tile roof, to the brown shingles that you see today. Lastly, that "old style" wall telephone you noted in the kitchen is/was actually the video phone hooked up to an external camera to view and open the (now gone) front driveway entrance gates. I'm as surprised that you missed this detail, as I am that you choose to add the un-neccessary superfluous(and untrue) fake Versace click-bait reference? [P.S.: There are two terrific UA-cam realty sales videos (still online!) for this property from 3 years ago, which show the gardens still intact and the house fully furnished, that you might wanna add the links to on here?)

I can't find anywhere that Versace owned a home outside NYC. This one looks like it might be on Long Island. As far as I can see, he only owned the mansion in Miami, a townhouse in NYC, a place on Lake Como, Italy and a place in Milan But, whomever's home this was, I hope they reuse all the stone from the front of the house somewhere else. I'm really surprised the power is still on, especially so close to demolition. I hope they salvage a lot of things, like the leaded and stained glass windows, that mirror, the chairs, the door handles and all that beautiful wood flooring. It would be such a shame if it all gets demolished. That was a jaccuzzi and sauna. I loved the round room.

    • @rojd71

There are so many people that can’t afford a new home and this would definitely be one for a first time owner!😊
When you Nathan say that all the fixtures are gaudy and the wall paper is 😮ugly just have someone strip off the wallpaper and replace the all the old fixtures and put newer ones on! I would definitely buy this home and have it moved somewhere else and then update up everything!! New homes have to much wasted space and folks
now days have to be better than anyone else!!! New cars, new furniture, better schools, all sports, new clothes, and lastly a new exterior. This list is just a start. A person can go on and on. Just a shame how homes can be torn down, but and no one cars!😢😢

The Versace mansion is in such pristine condition in comparison to others I’ve seen. I wonder why. No vandalism, no graffiti or much other damage. RIH Icon

Ethan, i think the way you showcase a home is great. You should be a realtor! You could have sold me all of these homes you have explored!

Insane this is going to be torn down. It’s beautifully decorated, not my style but nevertheless everything is just right.

These are the types of homes we’d drive around to look at when I lived in VA. McLean, Great Falls, some other ritzy areas had beautiful homes like this. Sad to know it will be demolished.

Im glad you are caring for the property and what's inside. I watched another couple guys exploring and the one just dropped dishes and other things not caring and then i saw a comment that said " it's junk, who cares ". Maybe to the commenter, but not to everyone!

@ethanminnie thank you for replying to me. Can I ask you what got you started in the exploring business? I've watched you for awhile now and am just curious. There seems to be alot of people doing the same thing.

I really hope that whoever demolished this house removed the windows, doors and the hardwood flooring. All of that is insanely valuable.

Ethan, you are good with these house tours. I especially enjoyed seeing this one. Also I commend you in using the correct pronounciattion of “foyer”. Although it’s perfectly fine to use the Anglicized version. As a man with a design background foyer is preferable .
    Thanks again
    Jerry

This is an absolutely stunning house. Like I have said before it’s a shame they are tearing down such beautiful homes just to throw something supposedly better up in a few months time without half of the quality ( seriously ).

The house is really nice and glad to say the basement was nice too. Seemed like a cosy house on every floor.

This is one house I could see myself living in. There’s a few changes that I’d make like making an actual wet bar in the basement and upgrading plumbing and electrical. And I’d probably have to put a whole new jacuzzi and sauna in. But my word that land is gorgeous.

How do you even get permission to go into these homes. This house was fixable. What is more sad is they'll tear down this beautiful house but leave nasty buildings up. I watch so many UA-cam videos. I've seen abandoned mansions in different counties. Even they're not torn down, but think that old malls that look more like something out of a horror movie should be taken down. They're a scary mess. At least this house looks livable. 🙁
