- Deceive Inc.’s gameplay is thrilling and packed with anxious excitement for the first half of every match, but is then soured by a second half that relies too heavily on bad-feeling gunplay. This is a shame because it does mostly deliver on its promise of a tense spy-thriller action game, but locking better weapons behind higher levels and not properly balancing what is available does a disservice to the rest of the experience.
If you’re looking for an engaging multiplayer spy game, Deceive Inc. is hiding in plain sight. It has some issues that mar an otherwise solid experience, but it’s difficult to fault it for those since it will only run you $20. - Ігри

I will say, from my experience playing on PC: the shooting actually feels pretty good. it doesnt subtract from the experience at all on PC.
Ah, that's good to hear. Guess it's a Rainbow Six Siege situation where the shooting mechanics were pretty obviously designed for PC first, and for consoles second.

I assume gunplay is much harder to get right for console bc, aside from some of the major AAA devs known for fps games, a LOT of games’ gunplay feels wrong on console. MnK allows for so much flexibility and precision that u can make adjustments to make virtually any game feel fine. But when it comes to a controller it’s all up to the devs to know what they’re doing. Just adjusting sensitivity on ur analogs isn’t nearly enough to make a game’s gunplay feel “good.”
I haven’t got this game yet, but I plan on it. It looks like too much fun to pass up. Just hope they can make some adjustments to make the weapons feel smooth.
I dunno. The lack of player momentum, even midair, makes every shootout a WASD strafe duel that makes most of the guns in the game, which shoot slowly, kinda clunky to use. That’s why everyone prefers the burst fire or fully automatic sidegrades to their weapons, as it grants a lot more room for error. I think just making the hitboxes bigger on each character (besides Hans because duh) would solve this issue.

FPS elements are clunky, hitboxes are way too large, and the way damage works in the game makes shooting someone feel more like a boss fight in an MMORPG, just absolute damage-sponges, with Larcin, for example, i have to shoot someone 10 times in the head, before they finally die... almost like it was designed to be played on console, lmao. Feels pretty bad, i'd wager to say your senses are messed up, bro, if you think this doesn't feel bad. :P

Loving the game so far. Just got to level 20 this morning and in my experience the good times weigh out the frustrations. Game definitely needs some balancing and bug fixes ASAP tho.
Just played a handful of games, super fun, almost won once but there's already people level 20-40!

The gun play is not bad, I just think you playing on a controller is what makes it bad. They said they are going to adjust the aim assist since it seems non existent, but yeah.
Bruh's aiming is snappy as heck. As he is complaining about the gunplay. He shows a clip where he misses four of his shots while the character stands still in a corner. # skillissue

Gun play is decent on PC btw, just play with ur settings and you are good to murder. Maybe the console versions could use a bit of tweaking and aim assist?

Custom matches arent in the game yet but they are on a road map and will be added at a later date.
@Just Joby that would be so sick!!! Appreciate the response too, I just tried it out during its free weekend and had a blast. Custom lobbies would be an absolute treat! Can't wait to see what else they have in store
What were the names of the phases again? I kinda was under the impression that there was more than one insertion phase. Makes things kinda confusing considering that the initial insertion phase is different to the later insertion phase.
Insertion is unlocking vault terminals, gathering keycards, and getting upgrades. Infiltration is where the vault terminals are all unlocked and everyone goes to the main objective to collect the briefcase. Once the briefcase is collected the extraction phase begins where everyone tries to stop the team with the briefcase while they try to make it to the extraction point.
Gun play feels great on PC, but some guns (cough cough AUTOMATIC CROSSBOW) are a lot better then others.

I think this game is much better in squads. The solo version of this game consists of people who just shoot anybody on sight.
I agree with the Solo game being a total shootout. All people do there is just get themselves into gunfights. There needs to be mechanics to discourage breaking cover unless absolutely necessary
They have added heat levels to discourage this behavior.

But I can't see my ping/latency in the game, and I've tried checking the settings. So how do you even know if you're lagging? I find this to be a big problem. I don't even think there are servers in Australia for my region, so why buy a game when you experience lag?
I play from australia, For the most part Lag isn't and issue for me. I feel some stutter from the lag at times but usually it's like once or twice a game for a second or two. The only thing I can say other than that is the hit register in gun fights. I notice a half second delay between the actual shot and hit register. That being said it doesn't actually impact me at all, The game has zero bullet travel and so all I have to do is make sure my crosshair is on them and shoot. Without fall it hits. stationary targets and moving, just with that half second delay in register.
I play a lot of fps games so I'm quite good at getting hits I win 80% of gun fights with the delayed register. Lag is not a very big issue for casual playing.

The gunplay's fine, you can tell the reviewer here doesn't play FPS games too competitively or anything from the looks of the clips, and then says the latter half isn't fun because of the shooting mechanics. Not to mention he's playing on a controller lol

That fits how I felt about the game. Love all the spy parts but the way it falls back on gunplay to create direct combat is sort of lackluster. I really think if the game found another way to do combat it could like an 8.5, then a 9 with some more game mode options.

I agreed, love the game but I hate the "fornite style" gunplay, people just jumping and shooting and the character with the best gun usually wins, the balance is terrible right now, the best characters are the smaller ones, very hard to hit
If you are on console DONT BUY THIS GAME. they force crossplay with PC. The aim is abysmal on controller. I havent seen a single console player win a single player game in the last 10 matches. This isnt a spy game, it's a firing range for pc players

Yea def not worth it right now with the amount of hackers and unbalanced gameplay. Aim bots are in every other match and since the player base is so small you see it more often. Fan boys as usually just try to ignore it and don’t want to talk about it 🤦♂️. Some spy’s are waaaayyyy stronger/ meta than others like cavaliere. She breaks the game because she sees through disguises which breaks the game completely.
Soon as you said live service was like. Nope.

Depends on which gun you're talking about... And also how good your aim is.
To someone with bad aim, a faster fire rate is going to make the gun seem better, for example, so they might say that Chavez's third gun is shite, but his default gun is decent, etc.

The gun play is pretty bad, and I play on PC. I come from TF2 and my drag aim is unparallel, but the mechanics behind the shooting is more unbalanced than TF2 and it feels like I'm shooting rubber bullets. The only class that does damage is the sniper class which you can kill someone in just 2 shots, making it the only class that is worth playing. So why do other classes exist? Game needs balancing and a serious re-work.

Flat review as always. Never seem to have played more than an hour of a game before reviewing, providing basic surface level info and nuances. Obvious here from the lack of skill and having nothing levelled or unlocked (characters). Boring, scripted. No wonder gaming bolt is losing viewership.

This game has a good concept but I currently fucking hate it, it’s fun all the way until one of your teammates dies then you and your partner are screwed in a 2v3 or even worse 1v3

Game looks great but I will not buy a multiplayer only game. Sorry but I ain't paying money for something that REQUIRES other humans to play. I might as well just burn my money.

I never tought I'd say this about a game. But I like it and there isn't enough cosmetics to buy. relax there are no pay to win shit. But i like the game and want to drop some cash. They dont even have emotes. Whaaaaat`? I can drop 10 bucks on some dances? Every char has like one or two outfits that can be bought with cash the rest in unlocked by playing. I know everyone hates the cash shop but when im having this mutch fun i can easliy drop 10 bucks so i look like raindeer or some stupid shit. And no emots... We have to tea bag victims. Tea bag them. like its 2010. My god where is this cash shop located, russia?
The 3 first char you get to play are the ones that really needs you to have good aim. But you didn't land one headshot. Not fucking one. Try that in a game like CS and talk about how the guns are unbalanced. lol You played for 3-4 hours and got slammed by the people who can aim. lol
