I'm in a similar boat actually, I bought DHP in heathrow duty free about 2 weeks ago now. The performance is solid for sure (maybe 7-9 hours longevity with 2 hours strong projection). Personally, I find this scent profile fantastic, but it's not something I would want to last a whole 24 hours. I'd end up wearing something like this for a dressed up evening event, so the longevity for me is actually perfect. I figure most people here have a decently sized fragrance collection, so for us its actually quite counterproductive to have a fragrance last that long, since you'd probably want to wear something else for a different time in the day. Either way, this fragrance is a 10/10 in my book. No regrets on this one.
The batch code isn't the same as the formulation code it just indicates the year it was made..The formula code indicates well the actual formula used to make that years batch. The formula code is written on the bottom of the box on top of the barcode, it hasn't changed for years!, people forget to factor in oxidisation and the maceration which occurs in the bottle over time so people saying "Oh the 2016 bottle I have smells much stronger" well yeah of course they are they've had 7 odd years of oxidisation and maceration. My 2019 bottle smells and performs beautifully and given time so will these new batches..

Thanks for the honest review Mikey, I can't speak on the 100ml new batches but my 75ml older batch is not powdery on my skin and I do get the rose/leather more prominent throughout the wearing.
I just got mine in today. Purchased last week. It’s pretty strong with just one spray. I think I get something of a touch of oud in dry down but then again many always talk about the leather being pronounced. No one really talks about the oud to be fair. And to me this is quite a bit darker than my DHI. It almost makes the DHI seem fresh lol
Let it sit and macerate, Mikey. I bought a bottle in December 2021 and was also disappointed in the performance compared to my sample. Left it on the shelf literally till the following October, thought I'd give it a try with the usual amount of sprays and I was choking EVERYONE out... I've generally always thought the maceration idea to be a fallacy but this has definitely convinced me it's possible
Hey Mikey, Alex is spot on with this Parfum. It needs time to sit and brew in the oils once you let a bit of air in. I really really noticed the performance difference with Dior Homme Intense as well after macerating.

Hi Mike,.. I love the Dior Homme line. I love the " original" Dior Homme and the dior intense . I never smelled the Parfum edition. I will buy a new Dior Homme Original version, I do not like the 2020version. The one without Iris. I just can not get used to that version. I was contemplating the Parfum version. But to be honest, your review made me change my mind. I will not blind buy it. I will stick to the Original version .
I came here seeking validation for my thoughts on the recent batches and I got it. I am aligned with your observations. I loved DHP for years and used my 2016 decant very sparingly. That thing is dense, loud and complex. Yesterday, I acquired a bottle of 2022 batch and it retains the DNA but is a notably different scent. Like you said, its way more woodier and powdery. The lipsticky iris is missing. The leather note is toned down, there is no oud to detect. And yes, this is not a beast mode scent anymore. I will likely sell this bottle, cos I am disappointed, and I will probably look else for my Iris - pobably CH Cuir Zerzura. As like you said even DHI for that matter.
I was really thinking of picking up this fragrance but i will give it a miss (not due to your review) because i already own Dior Homme Original which has about as much iris as id ever need. Thanks MC.
Just got my Dior Homme Parfum and must say I was underwhelmed. It simply doesn’t live up to the hype . On first spray I got lots of leather and a.smoky wood fragrance with some vanilla but it seems to lose some oomph on the dry down exhibiting soft powdery floral ( Iris } and vanilla . For $260.00 CDN there’s far better fragrances out there . )
For me, both DHI and DHP perform incredibly weak, basically gone after an hour, maybe i am anosmic to the iris accord. But people who claim DHP is a beast mode are out of their mind imho, Sauvage Elixir blows DHP out of the water with easily triple the longevity and vastly better projection. My batch is 4A01.
That's actually sad what you're saying about 100ml and it ring the reformulation alarm in my mind, because I've got different experience with my DHP 2017 75ml bottle. To my nose this older batch smells super agar-oudy-smoky. The iris is less prominent than DHI, but it's the better quality real tuscan iris as opposed to synthetic cosmetic aroma molecules constructed iris-like note in DHI, which in the latter is still pleasent but not as luxurious. Back to DHP is much more waxy and rich in comparison hand to hand DHI smells like it's almost undetectable, basically super light. At some point around 6-7 hours they smell very similar like a flower bucket. However as it comes to scent profile as a whole because of the smoky ambery agar and oud DHP is that much more interesting and expensive smelling. Don't have preference one over another as both of these are being used different occasions. I'm concerned 100ml bottles might not be what it used to be, makes me second guessing about spending 150 euros at dior website for this fragrance when my 75ml runs out.
Dior homme intense performance is atrocious. I actually bought a bottle in January and was so irritated I went back to perfume parlour and bought there's because it performs so much better
It is the exact same formulation as in previous years- exact same per formula code. Does it last 24 hrs? Prob not on skin- It does last a good 8 to 10 hours, though- depending on your activity and outside temperature. I can smell this on my pillow for days. Personally, for me, out of 150 fragrances- this is the one I would keep- if I could keep only one. That includes niche....
I have 3 bottles of it@@mikeycologne - I will not run out. Let her sit for a month or two or? I did not buy into the maceration thing, at first- but I have changed my tune. Some of these perfumes need to be sprayed and sit for a while. The character does change and in many cases the performance increases... A few that I have, I did not even like at first, but after sitting for months, smell wonderful, now. Cheers..
Im a one scent person and ive been using this perfume since they had 75ml bottled batch. Countless bottless later this batch is very less performing compared to last ones :( Im thinking of changing to a diff one. Or find previous batches on black market

I’ve had mine now for a couple of months and it’s still a powder bomb on me nothing has changed as of yet. People say let it sit for a couple of months and it will change. For one you shouldn’t have to wait that long for any changes and two mine is still the same 🤷🏼♂️

Other dhp batches I’ve found very dense, heavy, and cloying even. This one feels more balanced and not as over powering dhp normally is. Hopefully they don’t do batches like dhi did though lol

I got mine in Dec 2020 Mikey new batch and it’s really strong two sprays max as it goes way too powdery,I prefer too wear it in the cold weather,I can easily smell it next day mate yours will improve with some time,nice review buddy

I know how you feel but not about Doir, but rather Parfums De Marly. I was so looking forward to trying Layton and I only started collecting last year and picked up the discovery kit this year to find out they had weakened the concentration. I barely could smell it and it lasted hardly any time. For some reason the kit doesn’t include the Exclusif but you could pick 2 extra fragrances of your choice and again Layton Exclusif wasn’t a choice. I was so annoyed that after hearing about how great it was I had this pathetic experience and ended up ordering the Pegasus Exclusif instead as it was the only one as we were getting in to Autumn and winter i felt would perform. There are others I am yet to try and the others I liked can wait until next spring for the likes of Sedley and Percival. I have Carlisle sitting waiting to be tested but I am honestly dreading the same outcome as Layton and the others I want to try are not even available as samples or in a 2nd discovery kit. It’s so annoying when you end up late to the party and it why I ignored YSL’s La Nuit De L’homme and got the Blue Electrique version instead because people said that it was the most similar that performed better and tbh its performance isn’t anything special, so I would hate to think what the new batches of the OG are like. They use the fragrances good name and take advantage of it by cheapening the ingredients but charging the same. It’s a disgrace. I have to say though I have had a few fragrances that were literally a month or two old when checking the batches that when left for a while got better over time so it could be that also.

I am not into beast mode fragrances because I could offend others BUT, DHP gives me a bit of an edge in comparison to other frags I own. I still love DHP, and I can get this to work. One spray in the chest area, and one spray on my wrist, then press it against my neck and I am hood to go. Cheers

I know you too well Mikey. I had a feeling you would prefer the Intense, due to the lipstick 💄 Iris. I personally prefer the Parfum as it’s less lipstick 💄 Iris. There is a fag paper between them. Trust me the performance will improve with macerating. I get similar performance from the Intense and the Parfum. My intense performance was terrible to start and I had similar disappointment that you have for the Parfum with the Intense. Especially as I bought the 150ml bottle lol 😂. Now the only disappointment is my wife doesn’t care for the Intense. She prefers the Parfum I think because of the Rose note. I have to say the Parfum is the dressier of the 2. It would be great once your Parfum has macerated to do a Intense vs Parfum battle. I think you would do a great job. Not sure if you own Dior Homme Original? Not the 2020. I am thinking of picking it up to complete the line up. Seems only available from the Dior website.
Is there a batch code on the bottom of the bottle or only on the box? I just received a bottle from an online vendor without a batch code on the bottle.
The batch code on my 100ml is 1c01 but that number doesn't matter as much as the formula code which on the box is located bottom right of the ingredients my formula code is N08642/A if yours is different then its been reformulated if not let it sit for a few months to macerate

I do think it’s a solid fragrance but I think it’s been over hyped by a lot off UA-camrs I still prefer dhi 👌🏻

Mikey let it sit. I purchased a new batch of Dior, 6 months ago. And 6 months later, it went from 6 hours to 12 +

I have a 2023 batch as well and while it’s not beast mode, it’s a solid performer. Also, I definitely smell oud in the dry down

Imo recent Carlisle tested as strong as my pre reformulation bottle. Its a really strong scent, much stronger than Layton.

2021 batch is the 75ml, and it should be beastmode. The 2022/2023 is 100 ml and it is not beastmode anymore, lasts good but does not project.
Hi Mickey:-) Before this video I just saw the one in which you smell Dior Homme Parfum for the first time and in that video you are way more positive about it and says it has a lot more going on than Dior Homme Intense. So does this mean that that Dior Homme Parfum did not grow on you or that you got bored with it?
I am expecting my first ever bottle of Dior Homme Parfum within the next 5-6 days:-)

Dior homme parfum is a great scent but I do prefer the intense because the way the iris note comes across more lip sticky 🔥👌🏻

I got mine the other day after waiting ages for it coming back on the uk dior site. Intense lasts lotssssss longer. Im disappointed 😞

I know you too well Mikey. I had a feeling you would prefer the Intense, due to the lipstick 💄 Iris. I personally prefer the Parfum as it’s less lipstick 💄 Iris. There is a fag paper between them. Trust me the performance will improve with macerating. I get similar performance from the Intense and the Parfum. My intense performance was terrible to start and I had similar disappointment that you have for the Parfum with the Intense. Especially as I bought the 150ml bottle lol 😂. Now the only disappointment is my wife doesn’t care for the Intense. She prefers the Parfum I think because of the Rose note. I have to say the Parfum is the dressier of the 2.
It would be great once your Parfum has macerated to do a Intense vs Parfum battle. I think you would do a great job.
Not sure if you own Dior Homme Original? Not the 2020. I am thinking of picking it up to complete the line up. Seems only available from the Dior website.

The only Dior Homme I have is 2020, I can't stand the make - up powdery smell the others share.

@@mikeycologne dont worry, you get the same longevity and performance that i got, and i had a 03/2022 batch.
The batch code on my 100ml is 1c01 but that number doesn't matter as much as the formula code which on the box is located bottom right of the ingredients my formula code is N08642/A if yours is different then its been reformulated if not let it sit for a few months to macerate
I am definitely going to let it macerate mate but having to buy a frag and let it sit it’s not a great selling point 🤔
