You would do the same if it happened to your music and you didn't like what they said. Reacting is not a real career option. You are trying to make money on talking about someone else's artistic creation.
Not trying to attack or anything, this is just my opinion. And I am not a singer or reactor.
@@rogeliocamargo9504You are missing his point though. The reaction videos are creations on their own, they aren’t a way for reactors to “leech off” of someone else’s creation. By your logic, an art history teacher shouldn’t be able to make money, because their work consists of talking about other people’s creation, and that their labour of learning the history of that artist, the creation process, the artistic references, and then turning all that information into education for students is not actually their labour- it somehow all belongs to the artist. These people don’t just watch the video and talk about their feelings. They break songs down, they provide NEW content that is educational and entertaining by way of UNIQUE analysis. Not like that analysis was part of the song and produced by the artist in the digestible form that reactors present information in. I hope this analogy makes it clear to you how reactors are content creators of their own right.
I am also not a content creator, I just enjoy their work and want them to be able to get fair compensation for their labour.

That's the whole point of fair use. As long as the argument can be made that Knox's content is transformative he should 100% be able to profit of it regardless of UMGs opinion.

It’s not about caring for creators. Copyright is a legal issue. If UA-cam protects the creators they become liable. The law itself was introduced because of platforms that were allowing illegal content sharing.

Knox hill is the reason I have been introduced to so many artists, that I love. And now listen to, and buy albums.
Honestly, I feel as though 90% of the reaction channels on UA-cam are not transformative enough to justify monetization, however if any of them are, It’s definitely this guy. He’s one of the only reaction UA-camrs I’ve seen that actually go into detail about the writing and production processes. Just wanted to put my two cents out there. I tend to agree. Alot of reactions leave you with nothing of value. Knox does such a thorough job of his breakdowns though and his knowledge constantly surprises me. He a master of his craft and I think it's only fair he's able to profit off his hard work.
Just want to make clear: do I blame Kendrick? No. This is an ongoing battle and situation with the labels I have spoken out on before and made multiple videos on. I'm always going to make a stand for my fellow reaction community and speak out when I see abuse of the system against us ✌️

If any music reactor deserves monetization its Knox. 95% of the music reactor channels are just screaming "OHHHH DID HE JUST SAY THAT SHIT" to the most obvious 2-3 bars of the song and thats it. Most of the lyrics completely go over their head and they dont care to mention the finer details like he mentioned in this video. The flow switches, inside rhyme schemes, entendres etc. I used to listen to other reactors for the hype but when I came across this channel I could not go back to any other channel simply because no one does these breakdowns even half as good as he does, and it makes me appreciate artists amd their work that much more.

That's cool, but it seems like a self imposed limitation. This would be like me saying I never appreciated orchestral, D&B, Alt Rock, Jazz etc until I found channels related to them. I'm a Black man who grew up in the hood, I didn't limit myself to just Hip hop. I have literally thousands of songs in my head. I downloaded like 550 Hip hop only tracks in the past 3 weeks and that's not even close to all I know. I listen to whatever I like to hear from Beethoven to Liquid D&B to Anime soundtracks to Hip hop and even Native American Flute music. I was listening to the theme of Hell Divers 2 "A cup of libertea" yesterday and I don't even play the game. If you like music, explore, it's art, it's dope. Some of my favorite songs are Hero Chou by Jay Chou from the King Fu Dunk movie that came out in 2008 it's a Chinese song. Real Folks Blues form Cowboy Bebop anime by Yokko Kanno, Moby Trouble So hard and Batman v Superman Soundtrack - Beautiful lie and Never enough by Lauren Allred. I'm going to go listen to 30 Seconds to Mars beautiful lie now.

YT is the problem. They created the system and built in all the issues. They have the power to fix it - BUT it would eat into their profits and they won’t do that unless they are forced. Content creators have to organise and boycott YT. It will hurt them individually but they money they could cost YT in lost ad revenue if they acted in unison would certainly be noticed.

Not going to happen. They are implementing the systems that they are required to implement to allow copyright claims. It is up the individuals to go after labels abusing copyright claims. A better question is why hasn't someone started a bunch of class action lawsuits or something similar.

before knowing ur channel rap for me was just some people talking in a rush. after watching your deep dives i have so much appreciation for rap and how artists are able to use this form of expression to manipulate the english language. Honest to god without your videos i would never have gotten into rap and been able to enjoy it as i do now. These big bullies sometimes are soooo money hungry that they miss the point. Success isnt just about how much money you make.
I don’t want to down play the Jay Rocs or scru face, robtv, or shaq but Knox actually breaks these bars down. If you have to pick one creator who is the most “transformative” in their reactions it has to be him.

@@Jay-eg9mv Not necessarily Drake but his daddy, Lucian Grainge, the CEO of UMG. Kendrick and Drake are on different record labels but their music is distributed worldwide by Universal Music Group (UMG). That's the company claiming all the videos. UMG and Universal Pictures are notorious for not letting any of their media, even a few seconds of a it, slide through. That's why it was such a huge deal that these copyright claims were put on hiatus. Someone had to pull some strings to make that happen.
But given Drake and Lucian's close relationship and how Drake's current choices are making him tank further, it's not a stretch for them to request a dark marketing campaign against Kendrick, starting with UMG taking reactors' money again and then letting people blame Kendrick. Or it could just be pettiness that reactors in general sided with Kendrick. Or it could've been part of the agreement between Kendrick's label and UMG that it was only for a limited amount of time. If that were the reason, they shoulda let reactors know. The fact they didn't points back to reasons one or two.

Fortunately i watched shaq video and i dont blame Kendrick i think its just the labels
i will say that when i see one of your videos that i want to watch; like a song from an artist or genera that listen to that usually doesnt get much recognition or a song that i didnt know released that i want to listen to, I will open your video pause it before it starts and then go find the original listen to it and then watch the breakdown. makes me appreciate the fancy beeps and boops that i like listening to.
I've found quite a few artists and bands(that I follow) because of the reactors I follow and watch regularly. The reactors opened that door. The labels should be thankful.
