The new Opel Astra is also a design statement for the brand. Dynamic as never before, with sheer, taut surfaces, detoxed of superfluous elements and with the new brand face - the Opel Vizor. This shows at first glance that the Astra is ready to define a new era.
Like its predecessor launched in 2015, the newcomer brings innovations to the compact class that customers previously only knew from more expensive vehicles. For example, the Astra can turn night into day: the latest evolution of the adaptive Intelli-Lux LED® Pixel Light comes straight from Opel's flagship Insignia and, with 168 LED elements, leads the way in the compact and midsize market sectors.
A leap in time has taken place in the interior of the new generation Astra. With the fully digital Pure Panel, analogue instruments are consigned to history. Instead, the new human-machine-interface (HMI) with fresh, modern graphics offers customers a pure, more intuitive experience. Passengers can operate the new Astra intuitively via extra-wide touchscreens, just like a smartphone. The Opel designers and engineers have taken great care to ensure that the driver receives all the necessary information and useful operating options, but is not burdened with superfluous data or functions. In addition, key settings such as climate control can still be operated via physical switches and buttons.
Typically Opel is also the outstanding seating comfort of the new compact class model. The front seats, developed in-house, are AGR (“Aktion Gesunder Rücken e.V.” / “Campaign for Healthy Backs”) certified and, with their exemplary ergonomics, are exceedingly comfortable, especially on long journeys. The driver is supported by state-of-the-art assistance systems ranging from the head-up display to the Intelli-Drive 1.0 assistance system, which integrates many assistance systems up to the Intelli-Vision 360-degree camera.
The new Astra is 4,374 millimetres long and 1,860 mm wide. It is only 4.0 mm longer than the previous model. The wheelbase increased by 13 mm to 2,675 mm. Notwithstanding the muscular, confident stance, the new Astra’s practical boot with adjustable floor still offers the driver and four passengers up to 1,339 litres of luggage volume (Astra Hybrid 1,268 litres) with the rear seats folded down.
The new Astra has something for everyone in terms of drive alternatives - it is the first Opel model that will soon offer customers the choice between pure electric drive, plug-in hybrid or combustion engine. The power range extends from 81 kW/110 hp to 165 kW/225 hp system output (WLTP1 combined fuel consumption: 5.8-1.0 l/100 km, CO2 emissions 131-22 g/km) - so superior driving performance is guaranteed. Opel combines driving fun with top efficiency and environmental consciousness in the latest generation of its compact class bestseller.
And does so at the usual attractive prices: the sporty five-door model is available from €22,465 (all prices RRP incl. VAT in Germany) - not a cent more expensive than the basic version of the predecessor. Numerous state-of-the-art assistance systems such as front collision warning with automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition and drowsiness detection are standard equipment in every version. Lively performance is provided by the 81 kW/110 hp 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo direct injection petrol engine with 6-speed manual gearbox (WLTP1 combined fuel consumption: 5.5-5.4 l/100 km, 126-123 g/km CO2).

this car give me some little Mercedes vibes. I’ve never considered Opel until now. great job Opel, thanks for the video bro 👍
Just take a seat. I guarantee, your "Mercedes vibes" will be out of the window in seconds.
I drive different cars in my job as a car inspector/driver here in UK for 8 years now and I'm rarely impressed by any car today .
Yesterday I drove this one and I think it's my new favourite hatchback.
A CLASS MERCEDES is very overpriced for what it offers ,I personally don't like the A class interior design with those stupid round vents , the new Audi A3 has stupid exterior design with to many creases ,I don't like the new BMW 1 series design and I don't like the Golf's design anymore either and the facelift Focus interior it's just 🤮
Yesterday I drove this exact same model here in UK , full black and I'm just stunned by the quality overall ,everything you touch feels sturdy ,solid and good quality from the opening/closing of the door to the interior quality.
Beautiful design inside and out and the interior it's just brilliant with very good ergonomics ,everything is lovely layed out ,the dash is slightly angled towards the driver ,I mean for a car in this class and price range ,nice drive train aswell and very good sound proofing with nice handling.
I love it ,I'm really thinking about buying this .
Nice clip 👌
Thanks for feedback 🙏
front reminds me of a Pontiac firebird
Yes right 🙂
unlocking by approach and locking by walking away (PKE: passive keyless entry) is a great feature that only few brands offer. probably because costs associated with patents.
What a good presentation of this new Opel Astra. Very well designed car by Opel. I got to know this car so well from this successful presentation. I already have one. It performs on the road and uphill, which exceeded my expectations. Climbing in third gear and sometimes asking for fourth gear. Very satisfied with it.
Thanks Jose for feedback 👍🙏

AWD or FWD?
is there any dedicated button to turn on the camera? or only by selecting reverse?
Uhh, I'll just wait out the 308 review...
btw, your clip-on mic sounds way better now! No distortion. Nice job!
Thanks for feedback 🙏 👍Really appreciate 🙏
It’s a big upgrade for Vauxhall, and very smart looking car. It gives me the knight rider feel.
Only problem you will have is getting hold of it. I have ordered this car last June and because of the micro chip shortage still haven’t had a delivery date. Very frustrating but I’m committed now so fingers crossed.
True 👍
Opel Astra or 308 both PHEV which one is better, I want to lease to buy one of them in August this year, any suggestion ???
Awesome car! I will order the Opel Corsa Sport Tourer for a little bit of more space!
Nice 👍👍
You kept comparing this with the golf. But do you think it is better than the new focus?
And as always great review!
The car also has colored ambient lighting?
Love the look of the new Astra!!
What a big change.
The only question for me is the 1.2 turbo petrol 130ps engine, is it ok for power?
Great in-depth video of the car, thank you.
Subbed
👍
You prefer it to the 308? It's the same platform with very many similar features, but 15% cheaper so it looks like a good deal.....like golf vs a3
Yes right ....they are both same quality
@@SDADanCars I drive the 308, it's very nice but I'm unsure about the small steering wheel. I am driving the astra soon and if its like your review I will probably buy it!
Love your content bro keep pushing 🙏🏾
Thanks my friend 🙏🤗
i was waiting for this detailed review of the var. thanks
Thanks for feedback as well 👍🙏
Here in UK the best trim is called the ultimate buddy..and has sunroof too beautiful car I'm ordering one in black in July.
This Astra is very beautiful.God Job Opel👍.The presentation is very good👏.Good quality interior and exterior.
Thanks Mihai for feedback 👍🙏
The front of the car is a beauty, but the rear of the car, hmm not changed from previous models. I would have liked to have a longer taillight, like on the Renault Megane, another design 😁
The interior is insane though! Well done Opel!
Thanks for feedback 👍
Hi,
May I ask what's the real life mpg in hybrid mode? (With full battery and empty battery, please)
Also what would be a max real range if you start with full tank and battery?
I Will get mine yellow vauxhall astra 1.2 turbo 130 ultimate 5dr auto in december
You can barely see the rear indicators! Far too small.
At least should have made them brighter
This very beautifully vehicle. Great review
Thanks 👍🙏
It's not collaboration,PuG is owner of Opel and not only that even in Stellantis group on paper is collaboration but in reality PuG owns Alfa, Lancia, Dodge,Fiat, Chrysler, Citroen and DS.
👍
Very good review! Always informative and well prepared!
Thank you very much 👍 🙏🙂
looks its best in black.
Yes not bad 👍
Just give it normal 16V engine with at least 150HP and it will be perfect
👍👍
This is the future... sad but true, 3 cyl 😔
Agreed.
Hi is there a big difference between Astra and Corsa in terms of long motorway/highway journey ? Like 200 km ? I know that they are built on different platforms ( different rear suspension also ), but is it worth it to pay more for Astra, is it make much of a difference ?
I would say definitely yes. Corsa is shit. This car has great weight-to-power ratio, you can feel the power under you when accelerating. Very comfortable to drive. Plus it looks cool.
I think Astra is much better. If the money difference is not big go for it.
Why are the rear indicators so small, stupidly small, seems to be a thing these days, i’ve seen this on other models. The front are good, why not the back. Should not be just about style, safety should be a priority too.
They are same like Tesla Model 3
Would you go for the leather seats or the alcantara fabric seats?
Lether 👍easy to clean
@@SDADanCars Okey tanks a lot👍🙂
*thanks
Holden Cruze hatch with aftermarket mag wheels

Salut Dan belle finition cette Opel Merci Dan
Best looking astra 😍
Yes 👍
I ordered the GS line after test drive I also drove the Golf not impressed
Nice 👍
Hey Dan, you said that you reviewed the multimedia system in another video. Can you please post a link to that video ? I was not able to find it. Thanks !

@@SDADanCars Awesome, thanks so much !
Thanks again, buddy ... great review. I think I have found my next car :)
Thanks also for feedback 🙂👍🙏
Don't like the large plastic bezels around the driver display and entertainment screen.
You can get the screens covered with glass.
@@cadenrausch741 Went to my local dealership to ask about the glass screens. Won't be available until next year.
Why does a front wheel drive even have a transmission tunnel?
Good question
There is something weird about this design. From one angle it looks very sporty and impressive from another angle it doesn't as much. Interior design is good but I don't like the center air blower area design which looks rough not elegant
It is super nice 👌 love the design
This Astra doesn’t have Matrix led. That’s something you can order too.
Yes 👍
How much in UK ?
I like it xxxx
Not sure the price in UK 😪
Can we see the interior ambient lighting
Wow! Perfect 😍
we miss astra in BR
Bravo Dane!
Merci Teodor 👍🙏
Bellissima , la vorrei propio identica
Salut! ✋ In ce tara filmezi masinile?

@@SDADanCars Super țară! 👍👍 Bafta in tot ceea ce faci! Te salut din Austria🇵🇪😉✋
Amazzziinngg car!
Yes 👍
Why not the Kombi. That is of far more interest.
Yes I will do that soon as well 👍
Amazing car
Yes 👍
the one who designed that dashboard needs to be updated
🙂
Bellissima la vorrei propio così
The rival to Renault Megan e tech.
Beautiful😍
👍
Super wow
I would prefer a larger v6 or at least 4 cylinder with 200+ hp. 3 cylinders and dull power ruins the otherwise beautiful car. Electric is BS.
👌
super
👍👍
"Peugeot cars are some of the most known in good consumption": what? BMW is miles ahead in engine efficiency and fuel economy
The glossy plastic is real. Gonna look gross after a week
Looks insanely good, but I'd never buy her over Golf.
@Dwayne501
The new Golf MK 8 has horrendous controls.
@@nickhickson8738 when you get your head round the tech it’s really good.
Isnt golf discontinued?
@@aciddiver1978 No... They finished with Passat. Golf will forever be on the scene, i hope.
One peugeot 308
Sorry to say that but it’s still looks cheap that dashboard to much plastic shinny stuff I don’t like it
Not into the alloys 🤮 but car looks ok
🙂
I congratulate you for a very informative review. However no matter how many reviews I watch I just can't like this car. It's just ugly and looks like an enlarged version of the Corsa. The inside has far too much glossy black plastic and the rear legroom is less than the previous model. As for a three cylinder engine, no thanks. Dreadful car.
Hehe 😁👍Thanks for feedback 🙏
Ну что за убогий вид)))? Кому то это реально нужно???
Too slow.
Wet timing belt , stay away...
worst vents ever!
🙂
All of the new astra wheels look totally shit.
Dash board is so ugly, and that front...it doesnt fit the car at all.
I love the far. Hate this interior dash.
Looks like shit to me
This isn’t a proper Vauxhall with a Vauxhall engine it’s just a shitty Peugeot with a Vauxhall badge
Thanks Peter for feedback 👍
There hasn't been a proper vauxhall for 40 years !
