I had one of these as a courtesy car the last few days, really nice car. The build quality is a step above previous Vauxhalls, and the dash is a delight. The 1.2 engine sounded great and was pretty torquey, the 6 speed gearbox had a lovely action. Excellent car.
If you plan on leasing one ok but heard too much about these dodgy wet belts. If you plan on keeping one long term get that checked and changed and make sure its serviced by vauxhall (or peugeot)
I got a new astra this year to replace my 2019 golf, I hate the interior of the new golf and that's why I changed, the astra looks far better on the outside to in my opinion
Just took delivery, I'm in my seventies, not tech minded yet the fully loaded feature list is easy to use. The older persons problem, bending to get in is no problem either and I'm six feet tall. Once inside you feel comfortable and secure. A good motorcar for young and not so young.
I have had my astra 1.2 130 bhp auto 1 month now done 1000 miles early days I no but it looks brill in white black roof wheels lots of people say it’s smart lovely car great to drive lots of safety stuff on it. I carant fault it upto now great drive quiet fuel good best thing looks smart stylish car and safety stuff and tech superb
Better bumper protection..front and back than the Peugeot 308 and adaptive matrix headlights standard on GS trim. Not bad plus i think the Vulcan Grey looks well on this model.
Interesting to cross shop these. The allure which is line up equal to the gs line has no heated seats like the astra yet has an auto and a more stylish interior and in my eyes its the better looking car. Depends what you prefer. Astra def gives you more equipment esp with the ultimate
thanks mate good review..I had the mk2 astra way back when I was young 👍🏽..they've come a long way-im looking at a car around this kinda spec! I'm going to test drive one this week, im also looking at the cupra leon, which i think may just top this we'll see..anyone driven the Leon? Thanks again for the review!
Nice car but..... i dont trust the 3 cylinders engines. They wear out faster, for example fords ecoboost, total destruction before 100.000km. And the diesel is not an option and the hybrid doesnt make sense economically.
Yea def going to be issues further down the line. What ive read is these puretech “wet” belts are easier to get to than the ford ones. I guess if you stick to service intervals and main dealers it should be ok but lets be honest owners of astras wont do that after 3/4 years or so. These are throwaway cars. Nice cars too but i fear for them mechanically long term. Get a vag product newest shape leon over this small 4 pot turbos are their bread and butter.
I have a black 2023 asyra ultimate diesel ..looks the bolloks and the toys on it are unreal . But i do find that the ride is very stiff and bumpy even when tou hit the cats eyes on motorway they echo thru the car like ita a pothole ..every bump i feel ..i took it to get it checked incase the transport blocks were left in the suspension but they said its meant to be a bumpy ride as it has sports suspension and 18 inch alloys 🤔any thoughts on this guys ..seriously i feel like every single little niggle in the road
It takes a while to get used to 3 cylinders for that money but if you want to get about efficiently and inexpensively it's worth it because it practically pays for itself in the long run (assuming you drive it sensibly)
@@cinchtons of people are suffering with this engine cause of well famous wetbelt issue, piston rings issues. not only in uk in whole Europe. Now other brands even asking about this at the time if we wanna trade in. People needed new engine soo early around 20k miles
Can we assume you own an Astra? 😜 Great cars, we totally agree. But Sam loves his sporty hatches and he reckons the Focus just edges it in that department. Don't you agree?
All the merits for the people who created and made this car but for this amount of money you can have a brand new Prius with far better fuel economy and slightly more power or a electric MG or a Leaf and the fuel economy will be reflected in this price! I wouldn’t pay this much money for this one and definitely not with a manual gearbox!🤷♂️
Beautiful car ,but good only when it's new ,wait a couple of years until it will start with electronic bugs and 30.000 for a Peugeot/ Astra? 😂 No thanks
too big blind spot on the rear and too boxy look. That said I think there better cars out there. Its nice if it would be cheaper its not that nice for the price

Picked my one up today the one up from gs line ultimate model u get so much more bigger alloys then the gs line and sunroof. It's a really nice car

Certainly looks great 👍

I would certainly take this over its rivals. Best looking car in it's class in my opinion. Great review 👍😊
Brilliant looks mate
Thanks! Agreed regarding the looks - we'd love it even more in a brighter colour
@cinch I ordered mine on the 18 of May 2022 on electric yellow with black roof still have got it yet mate
@cinch still haven't got it yet mate
I believe there's a long waiting list but from your review there's a good reason why
Just ordered this exact car
Congratulations 🎉
It's a good looking car, and I will have to compare it with others. With this crisis,it might be the best option.
A breath of fresh air from the usual scratchy plastic reviews 🙂
Do they not all come with assist parking? I read they do? Any info would be appreciated
Long waiting list and from your positive review maybe that's the reason why great looking motor
I've just bought one all in black looks so nice.
Congratulations! What are your favourite features of the Astra?

@@cinch I like that it's 6 speed love the all black colour and love how it handles.
Glad to hear that you're enjoying your Vauxhall Astra ownership experience!

Looking at buying the black one in automatic diesel. Only Black and white in GS left to get.

Where are these empty roads where I can enjoy all this great performance!? 🤔😁
Near to Lambourn, Ally :)

£28,000 for a Astra is ridiculous in 2017 the starting price was 17k
It ain't 2017 anymore pal, I don't like it as much as you but every single care has spiked since 2020...
@@Kieran_OPC great timing on the price increases as local authorities start implementing taxation on older vehicles through the ULEZ/LEZ schemes…
I ordered a gs line in black April 2022 been told I get it in 3 weeks
Very exciting. Congrats on your new motor!
Got my st gs a week ago and it's brilliant, loads stuff, growls when accelerating
It's a surprisingly fun car, isn't it? Great choice :)
@@cinch I thought our last car, seat Leon st was great but the astra is on another level
Great review and a nice car you get more than the golf but how does it compare to the 308?

We haven't driven the Cupra Leon yet but we'll upload a video when we eventually do.

Absolutely love my gs tourer.
Glad to hear it! What about it do you love?
When they do a GTC version I'll be interested.
But until then .... it can jog on.
30k for a bloody Astra. Jeez.
Nice car I might cinch it

Good build quality, no rattling.... for a new car? come on! isn't that it should be for any new car? what are you talking about.
Is this a Peugeot under the skin? Engine /switches /drivetrain?
Yes it’s a 308 with a body kit lol, such a shame because these Peugeot interiors feel such bad quality
@@coreyperryjones2142 you deluded?
@@Mr330d what makes you say that?

I get my gs line 4 more days
Shame it’s a Peugeot , ok when it’s new and the cambelt will disintegrate and block the oil pick up in the sump,
I'm a vauxhall guy and nah ill never buy a newer one then my 68 plate corsa vxr, the badge is dead to me
Cool story.

Nicer if it was under 18k
I don't appreciate 9.7 seconds to 60 you can't have any sporty features on a car that takes a day to 60mph
All that money for just 3 cylinders?

I hope he buy one, cos I'm not
Haha. Good one
Didn’t realise Vauxhall still existed. 130bhp a have focus diesel with 115bhp so it’s hardly sporty.
1.2 3 cylinder engine... yeah right lol.. sucks... looks nice tho, the looks of the car, too bad about the engine.
So 😂 MG 3 Hybrid will smoke this ?? As she have 195ponnys
One reason NOT to buy a new car - speed limiter. Government trying to control everything we do
Over priced I will stick with my old Vauxhall Astra 1.6 diesel j looks more expensive
Why buy a petrol car, why so expensive, rubbish, must be taking a back hander.
All the merits for the people who created and made this car but for this amount of money you can have a brand new Prius with far better fuel economy and slightly more power or a electric MG or a Leaf and the fuel economy will be reflected in this price! Add on the cost of replacing batteries every few years and the electric cars are far more expensive
3 cylinder growl is pathetic looks jobbies
It’s bland.
Looks like a dog’s dinner
Makes the golf look horrible
130mph? More money than sense 😂
It's a grandpa's car for god's sake.
Too much money to start with,
Will plummet faster than a falling brick.
Its a Peugeot underneath
Квадратный рулевой пластик...Это уже вообще издевательство!
Уродство салона везде!
Not in the same class as the seat Leon 15 cc FR the seat will blow it into the weeds faster to 62 mph and faster top speed. Plus it's a Astra rubbish
Horrible. Looks like a bland version of the Peugot that shares the platform. Truly forgettable.
