Steve Saint and Mincaye at Amsterdam 2000

In the late 1960's, I read the story of five missionaries who were killed in 1956 by members of the Waorani tribe in South America. Subsequent visits by other missionaries brought the tribe to faith. (Through Gates of Splendor)
In 2000, I met Mincaye, one of those who had carried out the killings and Steve Saint, the son of Ned Saint, one of those who were killed. Mincaye passed away on April 28th, aged around 90.

Mincaye always gives God the glory in every interview and movie. What a lesson to all of us. Reading the book now and it’s amazing-adding so much new information to the story.

@@peaceall1707 “End of the Spear” by Steve Saint. It was also made into a movie. Read “Through the Gates of Splendor” by Elisabeth Elliot which enhances the story from a different perspective.

Man I feel such shame looking at my selfish life of self seeking compared to these brave dedicated missionaries. Have grace on me Jesus I am chief of sinners, please wash me white as snow and help me to follow your path.
