My gf and myself ate vegan food in Rotterdam incredible, agree don't dress it up to look like meat,they obviously use fresh ingredients etc and create some really tasty food.

Same here, me and my gf did the same in Amsterdam + Rotterdam, and when we went to the theme park-Efteling!

One of my fav parts of the Netherlands is-The Hague!
@mikekaraoke just remembered Scheveningen was the place, we met up with one of my gf old friends who was vegan,German lady who moved to the Netherlands many years ago.
Very left wing lol but nice lady.
The food was delicious and didn't try to look like meat, lots of fresh vegetables, pulses etc.
No diary of course but desserts etc were delicious as were main courses.

Nice to meet Celina on your channel Darren. I like the look of the waffles and pancakes. I was hoping for some inspired veg cooking rather than meat substitute meals so Black Heart not for me. I do love an Indian restaurant veg dish though.

Vegan and vegetarian food is fine. I regularly buy non meat versions of stuff like sausages, burgers, white pudding and more. What's Vegan beer?. Its essentially grain and water anyway. Answers on a postcard.

Its easy, I had a year off meat several years ago
I'm a pescatarian purely for health reasons, the amount of negativity I get from meat eaters is unbelivable. The same goes for vegans and vegetarians, just because some of choose not to meat we're looked at as some sort of antichhrist.

This was done well, showed the venue the food, the eating parts cellina was knowledgeable....DJ doesn't pigeon hole himself into corners with food...or locations.

Being a meat eater it's not really for me but I have to say it did look good. Great vlog.
Most of the time you'll find me gnawing at a t-bone, but I've had some fabulous vegan meals at dinnner parties with friends, and on holiday in Vegas.

You can eat vegan food without even realising especially when it comes to Indian cuisine. The difference is, Indian vegetarian/vegan dishes (and they are in abundance) aren't trying to be vegan or replicate a meat dish for a vegan substitute. They are what they are, made with healthy, fresh ingredients and have their own place. This is where vegan establishments trying to replicate meat fail and give veganism a bad rep. I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but regularly eat a vegan meal without even realising as it's part of my culture. These fake meat alternatives like bacon, burgers, sausages lack creativity, are unhealthy due to all the chemicals used to make them feel and taste like meat, and make no sense. And DJ, come on, pull the other one. You could definitely tell the difference but were just being nice.

Hiya Darren, well this is something unusual and not the normal output from the channel. But food is a very broad Church. Being an almost 70yr old carnivore, and happy so to be. But food is a broad Church and we all have free choice as to what we like. However when the minority try to intimidate, threaten, abuse and cause mindless damage to other people's properties and try to ruin restaurant's and food businesses That's when the moral high ground is lost. Mob mentality is the same, trying to oppress the views of others, by fear or force. I see smokey bacon crisps are now on the naughty step. Due to the addiction of E Numbers. Artificial dyes all manner chemical gunge. Had Cellina eaten before she arrived? Or is she just a picker. But, she has the most beautiful laugh and seems a delightful companion to share a meal (and a pint) with 🍻. My mantra has been, live your life like you want to. But let others do the same. It seems that Cellina is a well travelled young person, carbon footprint from the travelling not really offset by not eating meat🤔Allan&Family
I think vegan food would be accepted a lot more if meat products were not imitated. They are So against meat products yet alot of their food is mock up of meat products. I’ve had vegan food Darren and you can 100% tell it isn’t the real thing. Enjoy pal
I went vegan when I was nineteen in 1984. It's the familiarity the makes you eat the fake stuff. Especially if you aren't much of a cook.

Not for me. I don't get it. To make vegan food in a shape of bacon what's that all about. I can understand being a vegetarian. But no not veg. They all seem to be activists to me. I haven't got time for that

I'm a committed carnivore. People go vegan for different reasons. If they miss meat and want to eat a bacon substitute, so what.

only vegan food i tried last few years was horrible. i used to like the linda mccartney burgers when i was a kid. If vegan food tasted good id deffo go for it. that vegan macdonalds burger didnt taste good

Unfortunately for me, any vegan food that I have had did not taste good!
Celina is a great and bubbly person and enjoyed the video! 😊 But from a medical POV being vegan has it's downsides. You will need to take quite a few supplements in order to stay healthy, most importantly vitamin B12, almost all vegans suffers from vitamin B12 deficiency, which may in certain cases affect the liver. So I would recommend anyone who's vegan or are planning on going vegan to get their blood work done regularly and stay on top of any abnormalities.

What I don't get with Vegan food is why it is named after meat products eg, sausage and vegan chicken. It is not sausage or chicken, it is made from something else, so why not call it that. I don't think it looked appetising, so not for me, but good for you for trying it

Sorry Darren, if it ain't got a face, I don't eat it. The amount of process that goes into beans/pulses and other vegan foods into meat substitutes just isn't good or that great. That said. Both the wife and I have the odd vegetarian day( jacket potato and cheese for lunch and an egg curry for dinner. After all, variety is the spice of life. That said. Stick to eating things with a face as we have always done. After all, we're built as biological omnivores.❤

Im not against veganism i just HATE when places do fake meant like vegan steak or vegan chicken 😫 as a proud meateater id walk out and eat the grass outside. I will stand stand by the fact you do need meat in your diet, yes you can get protein elsewhere but theres richness and goodness in meat which you need in your body
