Great looking jigs and techniques but multiple anglers on one fish and using the engines like that in the fight is not sport fishing. Well produced and shot video though.
We use hollow-core braid connected Chinese finger cuff style to the leader. Check out Leaders by Basil in NJ to have your reels spooled professionally.
Very informative video. Your 10 tips on fighting a tuna were excellent and so well presented on working as a team, boat control by the captain, etc. Explaining the effort to release the fish at the end and the amount of time to do it right was a bonus. Would really enjoy a video on the whole process if you decide to harvest the fish (Processes, steps necessary to ensure meat care and quality, etc.) Us recreational guys could use an excellent well presented tutorial on that. Thanks.
Law humpback u must stay 300 ft ftom them wright whale 500 ft plus from them so ,a lot of stick boat will run up ona bubble net an stuck there pulpit right over the middle of it ,because the blue fins shoot into that geting an easy meal ,an a whale eruns into the bottom of the boat ,
very experienced crew! but less humanity guys.. fishing for eating purposes etc thats a different things! but fishing for gaming thats cruelty towards the fish.. obviously they suffer alot with the hooking lure n after that you hang it with the bigger hooker handle n then wait for the fish to refresh then you release it? all these hurts to the fish for gaming pleasure only!
Youre tutorial vids are 🔥🔥 have you ever tried casting your harness jigs into schools that are blowing up on the surface like the old heads did with diamond jigs??
There are a number of great tuna rods out there. Finding your price point is the first step. Shimano & St. Croix offer more budget friendly options, while a number of specialty blanks can run $$$$.
Buenos dias - excellent explanation / hope to challenge one of those tunas - here in Panama we fight with yellowfin - what rod do you suggest ? For 50 up to 100 pds.?
We've had success using the Shimano Terez Spinning rods for tuna. You could probably get away with a medium heavy to heavy action blank depending on how heavy of lures you wish to use.
That is awesome! Would you mind emailing us directly at jamie@hogylures.com with more information and some photos if you have them? We'd love to see what you've caught and do a short interview for our website! Thanks :)
Absolutely brilliant, i sell fishing tackle, i love softbaiting, and slow jigging. This is a genius invention, very well designed. I wish you great success. Great video thanks
On the drop, are you allowing for any slack line and lure free fall, or is it a very controlled drop without slack? Something in between?
It is important to remain in constant contact with your jig to feel the subtlest of hits.
Nice tutorials very informative idea tynx for sharing capt nice one👍💪
Perfect explanations!

You sold me, just bought a few. What do you use to connect the 100# braid to the 30’ 130# fluorocarbon leader?
We use hollow-core braid connected Chinese finger cuff style to the leader. Check out Leaders by Basil in NJ to have your reels spooled professionally.

You bet! We'll normally throw the 4oz Harness Jig for surface feeds when sand eels are present. Fast steady burn, or a rip and drop will get the bite!
What rod are you using on this video? I love trigger grips.
Thank you for the information
You're welcome!
