MlLS went from major league soccer to Messi's League of Soccer in a matter of 24 hours
Ajajajjajajajaj hahaahahahah that is a good one.
What does it mean for MLS? Messi *IS* football. People will watch him from all over the world, doesn't matter where he plays. He may not be at his physical peak but with his field vision, near perfect passing skills and overall intuition he could be 50 years old and still be one of the best in MLS. Miami don't know how lucky they are. BIG W economically... historically... world class finisher... just the GOAT.
Hopefully soccer grows more in the USA
@@kevin-de2obhopefully it goes back to Europe instead
@@kevin-de2obfootball
@@kevin-de2ob mls/ soccer in the usa had been growing for a while and had big spike recently and now that messi is coming too yeah soccer in usa is gonna be fantastic.
It’s a major win for MLS. Ratings will be a boost with Messi playing
it's useless if only one best player is put together with not so good players, *According to me*
@@ASWWWWWW1 I totally agree with you, the hype will die on 4 months or so
@@ASWWWWWW1 It's not convenient for MLS that Inter continue to be a mediocre club, I suppose that will have better signings thanks to Leo who increases their competitiveness.
@@ASWWWWWW1at least they are trying, plus mls is more competitive then the other leages

I’m honestly really excited. I’ve never seen messi play live and now I have a chance
Enjoy it, the guy is different from anyone else, especially live
Messi is something else! I also haven’t seen it live in person 😂 I’m huge Messi fan…i also do have a chance though.
Too late bud Inter Miami games are all sold out lol
They r so casual, they don't even literally realize what they have got in their hands!! 😖🐐♾️
They most certainly know how huge this is going to be.
@@rvh9876 I don't think they do. I heard someone comparing it to LeBron going to China... meanwhile, the world cup final had more than 100x the viewership of the NBA finals.
@@albinjohnsson2511 The earth doesn’t have 1/100th of the reported NBA finals ratings.
So happy to find this channel. I have been watching various Messi clips every night on youtube since the World Cup and somehow landed here. The day of the World Cup final we switched allegiance from France to Argentina after hearing his story on NPR called The Last Cup. Wanted Messi and Argentina for the win! Now its Total shock that we actually might get to see him play in the USA. Came late to the game of soccer/football and absolutely a fan since we began playing in local pickup games starting in our 30's. We were terrible players but love the game. Today is my 66th bday and Messi news is the very best gift so far. Yay!!! Hopeful for Miami/MLS deal to get done!
Messi is not the player he once was...lost much of his ludicrous pace and ability to beat people one one one, but he's still the greatest player in the world.
I am watching your channel from India, So you know how far it is going to reach. Lionel Messi can still play 3 years in Eupropean Football. He would still play copa in 2024 so he would make sure he is in great shape. You are not getting an Old Old Messi, You are getting a Messi who would stay in a great enviorment surrounded by loyal crowd,The project would be surronded by Messi, He would excel.
NFL/NBA VIEWRS SHOULD BE WORRIED 📺🕵️⚽
This is one of the biggest move since Beckhem came to LA. Its one of the smartest move for Messi. He is a stake holder for a FC in MLS and the revenue that he is going to generate, its going to be massive for him. People will bash him to go to a retirement league, blah, blah. For Messi, he is set for the rest of his life. People don't realize, it is super hard to buy into any sport team.
I hope he starts a team in Vegas, could be a really epic project. Part of me is a little bummed about MLS only getting super stars after their prime, but I'm still so excited to see Messi play live and potentially start his own team or dynasty somewhere.
@@justinjohnson5906 Its hard to start a Soccer/Football team in the US. You have to get a lot of investors to invest in this project, which cost billions of dollars. You have to look at the market value as well. Will the investors get their money back if they place a Soccer/Football team in this area? If they do move forward with the team. The investor will also, have to invest in a stadium. They have to find a location and buying the land, which takes time. That is the reason why he went with Inter. A lot of investor already did the heavy lifting. All he is doing is putting his name with the team, which would generate so much money. Who wouldn't want to see Messi play every year? Psh! Im a AU fan. I'll watch Inter just because of Messi.
Not a retirement league anymore

The greatest footballer, and by definition, also the greatest sports player of all time.
You’re very lucky to have him.
This is going to grow the profile of the MLS exponentially. This is going to generate a TON of revenue for the league, tons of viewership from outside the US, tons of players are going to want to come here to play with and against Messi. MLS UK said this is likely going to advance the progress of this league by 6+ years.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SPEAK ABOUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING, THE STADIUM IN EUROPE COMPARING TO MLS STADIUMS IS SO DIFFERENT, THEY WILL HAVE TO UPGRADE THINGS AND ALSO THINK ABOUT BUILDING A MORE COMPARABLE STADIUM AS IN EUROPE. SECURITY FOR MESSI IS A MUST. TY
Messi will do to MLS what Maradona did to Napoli.
The “Messi Effect” will spread all over the league - all over the whole country.
More American kids will start to play this sport because of him.
The Messiah of Football has been appointed to MLS to destroy Soccer and introduce Football
⚽️ was always the number one sport in Italy,
@@brando7266
I wrote “Napoli”, not Italy, because I was not referring just to the football issue.
Maradona helped Napoli (the city of Naples, not the football club) to flourish again, He gave enthusiasm, self confidence to an entite depressed community.
He inspired their creativity. He has reinvigorated the Neapolitans’ passion for life.
He trascended the sport.
(Sorrentino’s movie “The Hand of God” explain it better than anything I can say.)
Messi will do this to the MLS community - and beyond.

It means everything for mls. But Now America should change soccer to football.

So as a new inter Miami fan :
Who do we hate?what's our history?Do we have a stadium?in short what is this team Messi's going to and where can I get his jersey Go intermiami
Club is brand new so not much of history, I think the rival is Orlando because they are closer lol
hahaha who we hate !!!!! Good that
New club without history. Amateur team stadium. In short, a very bad team, amateur level players, last in the table and wear pink.
But hey, number 10 wants to go there to rest, relax and play football on weekends for fun. If he is happy, everything is fine. He already did more in football than a human could ever do.
Y recuerden.... el mejor de todos los tiempos es argentino.. * * *
It’s called FULBO now.
He's coming to Miami to make an American born baby who will later give US our 1st World Cup title win.! Duh 💯
Seats right next to mine in St. Louis for the game on 7/15 are going for $1000 a seat. He is not even supported to play by then. Would be nice though if he did though.
Dude, sell your seats to a dumb person for a grand.

Hes used to playing in a stadium with a capacity of 99,354 they need to upgrade the miami stadium prices are crazy already
And Inter Miami CF home stadium capacity is only 18k 😂 that’s not enough for player like Messi. They have to upgrade it, renovate the stadium 🏟️ so more people not just from America 🇺🇸 but outside of America comes to watch Messi playing football in US.
If Beckham has money to sign Messi, why not rent a bigger stadium? so that everyone happy both parties win

I luv the aggressive push by MLS to get Messi , BUT there needs to be more actions like this by the league. To get bigger stars that are a lil younger or in the middle of their prime.. like right now they should push to bring Neymar and a few others. To spread the attention across the entire league. It’s time for a new era of MLS
The main thing stopping MLS is the fact that soccer is not as popular in the states. The fans are one of the key aspects to the popularity of the sport. American sport is entertaining but soccer is passionate.
Messi has had a deal on hold with Beckham for a while. What made this deal happen NOW, was not so much MLS, but Apple. Apple is HURTING for MLS Pass subscribers. That is why Apple is giving Messi a % of the revenue that comes in from all MLS Pass subscribes.
Rumor has it, that Apple was about to opt out of the contract with MLS after this season.
NOT ANYMORE...LOL
@@laccount0 you have to see the big picture. I go to every Atl Utd game and consider it my favorite outing compared to the Hawks, Falcons, Braves. The fans in Atlanta are very passionate about United and the team has only been in existence since 2017. Most major US cities are just getting MLS teams the past 5-10 years. There was no reason to pay attention to MLS when your city didn't have a team. I'm from Miami and the city lost the Fusion in 2001. So for 19 years the city didn't have an MLS team to root for. Inter Miami's first season was 2020. As these fanbases grow, the potential the MLS has to get a huge TV deal to pay players like Neymar and Mbappe in the near future is immense.
Absolutely, they should take advantage of the momentum
Please bring relegation 😢

is not an "one of" is definetly THE GREATEST. there is no doubt about it. As a footballer he's in the top alongside Maradona, and in terms of career, is definetly the best career ever in football
MLS and Mexican teams need to play an extended version of the Copa Libertadores, and they need to do this very soon! This would turn it into a great Continental Cup and really can start to think to compete with Europe with budgets, public and interest. The US and Mexico will only benefit, and so will the South American teams...just one thing, you have to stop calling it Soccer ;)
La libertadores con equipos de Conmebol ya está bien. México no tiene por qué jugarla, no suma de nada.. y no le corresponde. Ya tuvieron su oportunidad algunos años.
Exactly
Since Mexico Has A LOT of Investors Money
And a lot of Patrocinadores Just like the Us Has like Mexico
Both Usa and Mexico have a lot of Clout 💯

There are so many pessimistic and negative comments here about MLS and the state of soccer in the USA.
Most negative comment read as uneducated or folks who ignore the progress that has been made over the last 10 years by the core soccer fan base as we work to bring more people into the fold.
Let’s all take a breath and trust the process a little, all the negative speculation on what MLS and US soccer need to do for a later discussion
Congrats MLS i will watch your league
Feel like they are underestimating what teams will do for Messi. They will for sure use the football stadiums if given the opportunity.
I’d love to know if Messi got a Beckham deal to come to Miami. If anyone deserves one it would be him.
Don't worry
This will only last for 1 year before messi moves back to europe
Just 1 season, it won't be that bad
The retirement of messi well deserved Lio thanks for all👏
i think it'll generate considerable attention (obviously), but imo it ain't gonna do sheet for miami...lol, messi's gonna get frustrated real quick when they keep getting *stomped.* 🤣
He's gonna be okay until he isn't blamed and whistled by the fans as they did at Paris. He has already won everything, that's not a matter of concern.
@@sonalgeller9025 lol, one great player does not a competent team make.
Harsh but true.
it would be very frustrating for Messi doing an agressive pass and leaving alone a player to finish so then to shoot terribly bad and fail lol

Inter miami fan from România....Messi is gratest payer ...La pulga need love of the fans and will do magic things on the pitch. Respect
I love the effect the GOAT will have, but it's too soon. In 2-3 years, at the age of 39, he would still have a similar impact. Messi needs to be competing for the champions league with the best in the world right now, not dominating the MLS.
Legend... 😢
It means Greatest success for Major League Soccer.
Great coverage bros! Gettings from Buenos Aires! We'll be watching all Inter Miami games now on! 🔥⭐️⭐️⭐️🇦🇷
What I'm kind of mad about is that everyone is going to randomly become Miami fans. I'm a true Miami fan and my favorite Miami player, besides Messi now, is Josef Martinez. He is a Atlanta UTD legend that played a huge role in their MLS cup victory. Recently he's been struggling with injuries and made the move to Miami at the start of this season. The story of how Miami was formed and their ownership has always interested me.
Luckily fake fans don't last long.
Writing from Colombia. What is gonna happen to the loyal fans who do not have $400 for a ticket, especially the "La Familia" members? Does the club have a plan for them?
Not Miami fans........MESSI FANS!!! I'm a NYCFC supporter and will still buy his jersey and watch Miami games. Be grateful, your team is at the bottom of the ENTIRE league.
Union through and through !!!!!!!!!!!
The whole Argentina population become Miami fans now. ⚽🇦🇷
It is INEVITABLE that Football will continue to grow and prosper in the United States. Messi's arrival is just a HUGE boost. Numbers-wise, all the metrics will take a huge jump; notably in tv viewership, money and attendance. I see the last one jump from pre-Messi 21,600@match to 23k within 2 yrs.
Imagine! Just half a year after Argentina's wonderful World Cup victory!!!

It's a huge boost for MLS, Messi can play for 1 or even 2 more years at the top level in Europe, you're going to have an old Messi, but an old Messi is top 5-10 in Europe right now, it's not an old player who was top 10 at the base is the old goat, it's just crazy for MLS to have a player still so strong in its ranks...
And what he will bring to his team as a vision of the game is another world, even if he is no longer very young he still has the same vision of the game, and he remains the best in his field there Currently
With the right support players, Messi is still the best in the world. Without a team, is top 5-10.
Lionel Messi is good in any MLS jersey. I cannot imagine how much of a bigger impact on the game of soccer (football for those who don’t live in the USA) but I cannot wait to see him play. ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
Hey Marco 👋
The best what???soccer?please dont insult GOAT Messi,he is the best FOOTBALL player all of time bro
This may be a great move for MLS to bring in a big name like Messi... but it is resulting in higher ticket prices for Messi's future road matches. I looked up Ticketmaster and found all resale tickets for Messi's visit to Red Bull Arena on August 26 are now up to $500-600 etc. This will end up scaring many fans away especially with this Biden economy we have...
We also hear that Messi's other road matches later this season have become real expensive too...
Thats just supply and demand, no real cause for worry.
MLS ticket prices are already cheaper than most other pro sports in the US, so a Messi bump wont kill attendance.
Economy is great. Right wing press is mindfuckong you.

Consider yourself super super lucky people of USA, most of you (non football followers) don't even know how big of a deal this is. God of Football coming to MLS. Go watch him on the field. As a Barca fan I am heart broken. My dream from childhood was to visit Barcelona and watch Messi play in Barca jersey at Camp Nou live. But it is what it is, sometime life doesn't go acceding to your plan. I am happy for Messi, he gave us countless moments to cherish. Now he deserve the long pending break.
24 June is his birthday, 6 months before Jesus birthday, and saint John the Baptiser"s Barcelona Spain is Messi's home while on this planet.
Can Inter Miami get good before Messi becomes too old? He's 36 now and still a very good player and of course a massive draw, but the team is awful and I'm not sure it can get good before he ages out of the sport.
