Top fun guy I live in mid coast maine, so lots to explore! However your area looks even better! I used to live near Seattle and I’d like to trailer it out there to cruise. Maybe someday!
dieselram05 If you come out one day look me up we can get together on a cruise. There are many Albins out here. Most of the marinas have at least one or two at the docks. People cruise them actively.
Top fun guy I’ll be sure to do that! I still have family in Bellingham Washington so it’s just a matter of when I get out your direction. That’s really cool so many Albin’s are in your area, doesn’t seem to be many here on the east coast. I’m definitely in love with your boat though!
dieselram05 There was a group in BC called the Albineers at one time. I don’t know if they are still active but the boats are still very popular here. Several of the boats have had hard tops installed because of the rainy weather. There is one across the dock from me that is in beautiful condition. They seem to age well with minimal upkeep. Bellingham is a lovely city that we used to visit very often when we lived in Vancouver.
Small boat, big transition. From big city and no time, to small town and more time (to go out in your boat! Ha ha. YaY!!) And now with the added tool- GoPro. Nice addition to your video making skills. Looking forward to lots of new trips exploring your new neighborhood, and mine! Congratulations for your successful transition made possible by all your hard work, delayed gratification, and smart plans for a good retirement. Looking forward to many cruises together in our boats.
Yes, I still have Gulf Mariner and use her very often. I have to get my act together and make a few more videos one day. Thanks for watching and enjoying my videos.
@@topfunguy2281 Good to hear. Have you ever been or planning to go to Desolation Sound? That would make some awesome content. One of my favourite spots in the gulf islands is at Wallace island in Conover Cove or at Prevost Island. Drop anchor and stern tie to the rock. Nice and snug in there. Ian Drinkwater
@@IDRNKWTR Hi Ian, my friend has the same boat and has some nice videos that you might like from Desolation Sound and area. This link should get you there. ua-cam.com/channels/mt-ENjPN4VTTdPAhPJNH7g.html I may go there this summer. I’m off to Prates cove tomorrow.
Dylan Miller Thanks, Dylan. This video was a little rushed because I am busy packing for the big move. I will try to do some better quality stuff soon.
On second viewing I see my boat made it into the video. Hopefully next time Gertie Stubbs gets to be in the movies we'll be over for a visit out your way. I never did get to take you for a run after the re-power. I've been chasing shaft alignment issues since the end of May. Anyway, once I get all that sorted out I'll look forward to heading back across the straight to poke around. Hope you're well. Cheers, Graham.
Congratulations on the move, Llew. I know you'll enjoy a slower pace of life in Nanaimo. I'm hoping to get up toward your new area later this summer or early fall. Gulf Mariner looks great too! Nice video and a good run to Nanaimo. Orca would have been rolling a bit more in those conditions. I like the new marina, looks comfy and quiet.
Do stop by Montague Harbour on your way north Gary. My boat Torphins is moored in the SE corner of the harbour. Contact me and I'll come down to greet you if I'm there.
Willard Vega Voyager Hi Gary, Nice to hear from you. Give me a call when you come up. There is transient moorage at my Marina or the Nanaimo Harbour Authority dock. If I'm not working we can check out some of the local cruising spots.
Top fun guy yeah , this is opening my eyes to smaller trawlers like this aswell , my number one choice is a 36foot Grand banks europa but you definitly get the experience in these smaller ones aswell . Greetings from Norway
Allan Johansen Hi Allen, The Grand Banks are top of the line trawlers. Beautiful and seaworthy with a great reputation. I do like the fact that I can easily handle my little boat by myself in any conditions. It's all I really need. The cost of fuel and maintenance makes boating very affordable with such a small boat and I can still go everywhere I want. Norway sounds beautiful. It's coast line looks like it offers beautiful cruising just like British Columbia.
Hey there ... that's it? You're gone for good? I thought maybe you were just on a lengthy vacation. I'll miss having another slow boater at the marina. Best of luck and keep in touch.
Graham Mackenzie Hi Graham, I'm still in town for a few more weeks but the boat is in Nanaimo. It's a nice trip over about 5 and a half hours in a slow boat. Hopefully you can come over some time for a visit. My marina has transient moorage and so does the government wharf.
It’s your videos that got me thinking of a small trawler. So I now have a Albin 25 with a Perkins 4.108! Thanks!!
I really like the Albins, they are great boats. You are going to have lots of fun.

Love your boat; love your videos. They really help to soothe my homesickness for the BC coast. Keep it up!
Thanks, Come back to the coast for a visit any time.

Thanks again for the great videos. Brings back great memories cruising the gulf islands. Keep up the good work. I hope you still have the boat.

Thanks Kim
Some great pics, Llew, and many interesting comments. I think I could live aboard something like Gulf Mariner.
Hi Llew, enjoyed your video. What a life! I'll miss you, and now I have an extra good excuse to come visit in Nanaimo.
Laura Hebbard
I'm sure that we'll see you more often now. We have a spare room with your name on it.
Very cool. Looking forward to seeing future videos exploring the area

Thanks, Bill. I'll put that on the schedule. Can't see how I could go to the Gulf Islands without a stop at Montague, ha.
More vids! LOL! You got a great deal on that tug. You made it better tomorrow. How about a few "life aboard" vids?
Just came across your channel and really enjoy your videos. Will you be putting any more up soon? Cheers

I should get my act together and do some more. I’m going out on the boat today.
