A sniper rifle in a realistic game when only you and a few others have it is just unbelievably satisfying to use.
it's so realistic when you evaporate someone with a .338 lap but they get revived by someone with a bandage

@@glaze_tpf9791 squad always advertised itself as a mix of arcade and milsim. It's just happens to be slightly more milsim than say, insurgency sandstorm. But it still has arcade elements and that's not a bad thing. If you want to make sure people dont get a bandaid with .338, shoot them in the head

@BEEFCAKE 306 I’ve had PC for about a month now. M&K easy enough to learn, gotta just fight through the initial discomfort/inertia if you routinely play controller. Easy to learn, bigger skill gap than controller though. When you get good, you get GOOD.
They should really implement range finders in Squad. Its very uncommon for any marksman or sniper to NOT have rangefinders.
you can get a decent range estimate if you use the stadia metric rangefinder on binoculars. even some rifle will have those markings on their scopes. It would be nice to have laser rangefinders in the game, but that tech would probably be for the richer factions. I doubt insurgents or irregular militia would realistic have access to that.
That would make sniper role OP and definitely encourage lonewolfing

08:00 don't underestimate the resource of time you're wasting for them, you're only one guy holding them up for forever
not only time, but having a sniper looking over an enemy squad is a good way to keep them pinned. even if they do res each other there's not much they can do to someone outside their firing range
and judging by the piss poor shooting performance, wasting your own time as well

How do you manage to hit those shots when the enemy is just a couple of pixels? like even when you zoom in they barely show up at all
I’m assuming a very nice high pixel monitor. Playing on my Blade 15 makes hitting those shots near impossible
When you're playing, you are in fullscreen with full resolution and you also bring your head closer to see enemies farther. It's easier than you think.

UA-cam compression also degrades the video quality vs the orginal thing
By the way Drewski, the reason you are seeing ghosting effects on your reticle lines is because you have Anti Aliasing on. Turn it off for smoother optic lines that don't smear as you move around your point of aim.

Good to see someone who understands relocation, playing against da cong players in mike force showed me how little some know about not dying as a sniper. It's so easy to follow a bullet path to a sount and then the sound to a shooter even when you have a suppressor. You need to relocate.

I wish all factions would have a similar rifle like this in squad, I also wish for a range finder, and it would make a ton of sense if your secondary was a small carbine or M4 rather than just a hand gun.

I can't watch this, without blinking almsot everytime you fire the weapon. i tell ya, noise canceling headphones will kill the ears one day.

That intro clip is how I describe my sniping skills in games but In reality my shooting is like giving a child who is blind a 50 cal rifle and expecting him to provide sniper cover
It's interesting that they chose the C14 as the Canadian sniper rifle in the game, when a Canadian SF soldier has the world record distance kill shot with a Macmillan Tac 50
Man, I never thought of myself of using single shots weapon like that bolt action, because in any FPS games, in any year, my aim will always be terrible, and yeah REGARDLESS of how many times ive used or practice

I really love marksman gameplay one of my best squad games was me as a marksman and my buddy as a rifleman or something with a scope and we just steam rolled the enemy team. Unfortunately it’s near impossible to play marksman since for some reason it’s the number one most sought after class
The sniper scope has like 0 magnification respect to anyone who snipes good with it constantly
The scope has decent magnification, the game doesn't use dual rendering for the scopes so it just shortens your entire fov when you use the scope. Most games do this but they black out you peripherals.

Hey Drewski, you know that building you were sniping from for a lot of the video? You can get on the roof by jumping on the balcony railings and then jumping on the roof.
So, silly question: the Beretta sidearm worked fine, but is there any way to pick up an enemy's kit without completely changing out your own/just swapping out the pistol with a different weapon to supplement your sniper loadout?
No. Your kit cant be traded from pick ups or anything of the sort
I think technically you would also carry an m4 instead of your m9 if you are by yourself. Otherwise you would have a spotter with an m4. Realistically speaking.

The problem I have with this is there is so much communication and info drewski COULD relay to his squad and chooses not to, I'd have also pushed for a fireteam lead so I can mark for my squad. Theres being a lone-wolf, and then theres being a selfish lone wolf. You can be off on your own and still help the squad, this is an example of what not to do as sniper overwatch. Absolutely zero cohesion.
@operatordrewski about 3:44 when youre tryna get the guy in the lil walkup tower thingy n say idk if i can kill that guy then ask is he still alive...you actually did kill the 1st guy a cpl sec b4 this, if you watch you can see a 2nd guy running up the stairs to replace the dead guy.

You did get the guy in the tower the first time. Look again and you will see a guy rushing up the stairs and taking the prone right after.

Honestly, I feel like this is the gun that I perform best with. It's punishing, yet rewarding.
Try the Mosin with irons. So fun to play, especially on maps like Fallujah
