Harry, please strongly consider purchasing that Dakar Mitsubishi Evolution. It’s epic and would make for great Harry’s Garage and Harry’s Farm content!
Never too late I guess. Harry is present in auto world for decades. EVO magazine history, google it, it's interesting. One of rare channels worth spending time on. I even started watching some farm video although I have zero interest in farming. 😅
Harry is great because he’s not fake like a good 75% of the others. He’s a genuine car man as we all know and there’s no bullshit from him, or pointing or shouting. He’s one of the only ones I watch now as the whole car thing is burnt out for me. Im not interested some try hard driving and then regurgitating basic info on a 205 gti/Cosworth/964/e30 m3 while he shouts and shows fake emotions. Sometimes I think my favorite Harry’s are these auction previews. You are just so knowledgeable about everything! How can that be? Harry, I enjoy you immensely. Thanks 🙏
I love these auction videos and could easily sit here watching Harry talk for over an hour on these lots. Particularly, when I see cars in the background and hoping they make Harry's cut
i love how much passion you have for the jaguar project cars. they were a pure expression of car enthusiasm, in defiance of the broader trends we're seeing in the car industry. truly a special set of cars.
I use to work in Westbury Wiltshire on the trading estate right opposite where the Marcos were built, as a teenager I dreamed of owning one but never did, I’m 69 years old now and the owner of a TVR Chimaera 4.5 and just love it, a real fun car which always puts a smile on my face as soon as I turn the ignition key, great and very fair review of both these proper British sports cars. 👌
Think it was that same stand Iconic that wanted to charge visitors an additional £10 to walk round their roped off enclosure ....the cheek! I passed having already paid my show admission price of £42.50......not sure what was behind this charge......so Harry you saved me a tenner and I got up close and personal to the cars.
These previews by Harry are pure automotive gold...👍🏻 If only Iconic's actual auction presentation was as good...the first one a couple of months ago was awful with errors by the (poor) auctioneers, (get Johnathan Humbert back on!) poor YT presentation with bad lighting and low resolution, and none of the usual exciting atmosphere in the room they used to have when they were Silverstone auctions. 😖 Let's hope that lessons were learned and they raise their game to the previous high standards otherwise Harry's superb presentation here will be wasted again. Great vid Harry. 😃
Clearly they didn't take my advice or feedback...this auction was a visual disaster. No cars shown on YT, two very poor auctioneers, no atmosphere or entertainment value whatsoever! This company since it's re-brand has completely lost the plot. 😖
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab wow, quite disappointing to hear this in 2023... is it really so hard to get this sorted? plenty of talented people available to hire, i think.

I love these videos where Mr Metcalfe is geeking out at auction listings. I totally get his excitement at some of these classics. This auction is, particularly interesting. There is some amazing stuff.
Wow, the jps esprit took me back. In around 1984, when i was 7, my next door neighbour had one. It was literally like having KITT from knight rider next door! 😂❤
Harry, any chance of a review video to discuss what made the reserve and what didn't and maybe give us your view of where the market is at? What hot and what's not!
another superbly presented feature, your descriptions and sentiments are perfect. thank you, I can only dream of being there and actually buying a car ,,,,
As an Alfa buff, I can't help but point out a few things about the Montreal's history. The car owes its name to the Canadian city, where two identical prototypes were shown during the 1967 World's Fair. They were indeed well received, and a production version was greenlighted. However, the whole car was actually redesigned on its way to production. It is taller and narrower than the concept car, and the V8 fitted even without the bulge on the bonnet: that was added purely as decoration, and it's actually narrower than the engine's airbox underneath.
Thanks for info. I was told by my guide at the Alfa Museum the Montreal bonnet design changed between concept and production because the V8 engine wouldn't have fitted without this change but I will now refer to your explanation, as I'm sure you're correct! They were also the source of where the Montreal was first shown in public..

Someone took a long bath on that EV SL Mercedes... 200k build cost, proving that converting a classic is a money pit. I'd take the Jenson or the 944. Great Video Harry.
Love Harry's auction walkarounds (would also like a follow-up of what some of the cars made under the hammer...) Prices for fast Fords seem bonkers at the moment - especially when you see what else similar money would buy you... but there seems to be a sweet spot, where people who dreamed of these machines when young, now have the money to stump up a wad of cash. Loadsamoney! (Almost spat out my drink when Harry said the guide price on that AM Superlegera 'Concorde' :P)

I always appreciate watching your auction walk-arounds, as there are always some new insights you share. Keep them coming. That said, I perceive these videos to be more-or-less a commercial for Iconic Auctions (without the disclaimer). I think it would be interesting to do an 'auction round-up' video after the results are in, because looking at the results of this auction (and at least in my perception - the results of most Silverstone / Iconic Auction auctions) - the majority of the lots came in below the lower estimate or didn't sell. Would be interesting to get your view on Iconic Auction's overstating of estimates (which I guess is simply 'part of the trade') vs. 'where the market is at' and what are genuinely surprising results.
