Have you ever thought of playing/played project zomboid? Its an isometric games, a mix of 2d and 3d, its regarded as one of the most realistic survival games (not in the graphical sense), its often put beside Dayz when comparing realism. Detail in project zomboid includes the smallest of things like watching calories so that your character doesn’t get too chunky or too skinny, things like that determine how likely it is for a bite to breach through your skin, theres things like infection, if you do check it out I do recommend playing the tutorial and doing your own world in sandbox settings (without changing any settings), just to get a feel of it, and then using mods after, theres a lot of realism mods that add so much like blood drawing zombies closer or different starting traits like schizophrenia or diabetes, its worth checking out. ❤️🎉👋
It's one of the games on the possible list for later in the year. Doing more DayZ at the moment which will run alongside Fallout London when that is (hopefully) released later this month. I've been telling people I'm going to play that for about 18 months! PZ does look good though.....
Have you been playing the single player? I was thinking about getting it and I really don’t care about teaming up with people online or anything I’m more of a loner, so what’s your experience with this?
Just caught up with these videos. Very cool. I play on console, wish that did a single player mode, would make learning the map less stressful! Did you know you actually only need three short sticks and some kindling to cook four chicken breasts? Smoking makes the meat last longer, but if you put them on to smoke while roasting another piece, when the roasting piece is cooked and you then move a smoking piece down, it cooks quicker. I tend to use smoked more than roasting chicken. Apologies if you already know all this, as I said I'm late to your videos 🙂 Keep up the content.
I certainly didn't know that 😔! I will doubtless be demonstrating my ignorance on many occasions. I guess I'm hoping that will form part of the entertainment rather than annoying everybody 😁. Tips are welcome as long as it's understood that I might not always adopt the improvement straight away. It can be hard to break habits. Thanks for the comment.
Nice vid! Just wondering can we play co-op single player? like you & 1 person vs zombies and survive and stuff? or is it not that "hard/intresting" as there isn't human competitors? trying to see how that is to see if i buy it or not.. I want something similar to 7Days2Die basically :)
As long as you can connect to the server that you or your partner(s) are running - yes. Once you were used to the game, you might find it too easy for co-op. Perhaps you could look into modding the game to make it more challenging. You could try something like the Namalsk map with the survival mod - it's pretty tough!
I must say - I bought the game almost as an afterthought. I'd bought two other games that I had high hopes for but they were both disappointing. I finally get around to trying DayZ and before too long I'm cooking wild mushrooms in a forest at night and being killed by wolves! 😃. It's a great game.
With your camera movement it looks like you're playing on a controller but it seems you move the mouse in the menus? What imput method are you using? Great playthrough I'll binge the rest for sure :)
I write all my own music. That track is called 'Sad Culmination'. There's a very slightly different version on my Bandcamp page. I can't post a link in the comments but there's a link to my Bandcamp page on the channel homepage if you're interested. 🙂
I watched the first 17 minutes so far and I noticed you didn't save your game yet. Do you need to quit the game to auto-save? Then can you reload and continue at the exact location with all the items and weapons you found? You didn;'t even quit and auto save at the end of this video at 29:32, why, when thats the most important part when playing a videogame is to save your progress or ya'll lose it. If you don't cancel the game, it will not auto-save and if you happen to die you will lose all your progress. Ill be playing this game next on my PS4 and i'll make sure to keep on quiting so my progress can auto-save. Will it auto save with all items weapons found each time I quit then reload? If not then this game may not be for me. Dead Island 2 may have a better save system. My favorite save is always a save console on a wall like in Dead Space or Alien Resurrection.
The server saves all progress. There is no in-game save function. It makes no difference when you quit out. When your character dies - the world will still be the same: cars in the same place etc. You can even go back and find your 'body' if you're quick enough and can reach it before it despawns. If you place items in any container - they will stay there until you remove them . If you drop items on the ground - they will eventually despawn.
I don't think you can. You could look for PVE servers or join one with nobody on it. You'd probably never run into somebody but the remote possibility could give a little bit of an edge. 🙂
@@BFNowhere thank you that's what I have been doing. But he starts out the video saying, before going on line. Which made me think i could play off line. Just making sure I needed to be on a server.
As you might imagine - I tested it just now. I downloaded a new server - tried to start it and it didn't work. I verified the server files with steam - it downloaded two additional (missing?) files - and it's working just fine.
One question, this single player is official from the game? I mean just likes scum, we can choose what to play multiplayer or single player. Now dayz is discount in steam I think I'll buy it if the single player is official from the game. I don't want to make another mistake again. Short story, I buy RUST because we can play single player, but after following step by step to make my own "server" and it's never done, always error I hope in dayz we can just play single player without installing or do anything likes RUST
SIngle-player is not built-in to the game that you buy - there is no single-player option in the main menu. So, in one sense, it is not 'official'. However all the software you need to play it as I am doing IS official. It's not a hack or a mod and is absolutely legal and free IF you have bought the game. Once the game is shown in your game library in Steam you will have the option to download two separate programs called 'DayZ Server' and 'DayZ Tools'. You don't need the 'tools' for this just the 'server'. Both programs are shown when you check the box marked 'tools' in the dropdown menu at the top-left above your games (by default this is set to show games only). Once set-up and running (on the same machine), you simply connect to this server - it will be shown under the LAN tab according to the name you give it ('MYSERVER' or whatever you like). The 'single-player' element is that there will be no other players on your server, but it will be exactly the same game as on any other server. There are a couple of small, easy things you need to do before it will work. Do a search for 'How to play Dayz single-player' and all the information is there. As long as your PC is capable of playing DayZ you will be able to do it this way. There is also another way (which I don't use) called 'DayZ Community Offline Mode' which is slightly easier to set-up. The issue with this, however, is that it doesn't save your progress: you start from scratch every time you begin (although it does give you clothes and equipment).
I do have one. It's pretty much just been a graveyard of old episodes, I don't really know what I want to do with it. I thought maybe I'd wait and see how the channel grows before I started suggesting it was a good idea for other people to go there!

Been looking for the singleplayer expierience as a video series, brilliant 👍

Yes, my own server running in tandem with the game on the same PC. I did a short video on how I set it up.

Not as far as I know. It's all about running your own server. I think you can find PVE- only servers. That would be a good compromise maybe.
