  • Are you familiar with the Women, Peace and Security Agenda?
This year, Sri Lanka adopted its first ever National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security. This policy framework is meant to provide targeted support for women who have and continue to be directly harmed by conflict and crises, while also strengthening the role of women in peacebuilding.
We sat down with Ramaaya Salgado and Esther Hoole, from UN Women Sri Lanka, to uncover its potential implications for women and girls in the country.
The National Action Plan was formulated by the The Ministry of Women, Child Affairs and Social Empowerment and with support from UN Women and the Government of Japan.
