  • A GOLF CLUB FITTING WITH A MAD SCIENTIST! THE MOST IN DEPTH GOLF CLUB FITTING YOU WILL EVER SEE! - a few weeks ago on the channel I got a lesson that has changed my golf game. I gained 8mph ball speed and was hitting the ball much better. Sinjin then fitted a young golf pro Brad for a new set of irons... but this isn't your standard fitting. this is a fitting from a "mad scientist" in my opinion! what shafts will he use? what irons will he buy? let's find out... and let's do it now!

    Finally, somebody online that knows what he’s talking about with regards to fitting that isn’t necessarily $ driven. It’s about using knowledge and proven facts without misleading people because of their ignorance. Very good production and I look forward to part 2. It’s fascinating how each player has his own finger print. Very rare to get a fitting like this because of the time factor. If you’re not a player, you have to settle for about 50 percent accuracy or thereabouts.

    Regarding shaft unloading, there's a situation with some digital video recording for all us normal folks out here - many devices record the individual frames from the bottom to the top. It's an issue because often the club head will be recorded at a different location than the shaft because it's closer to the bottom of the frame, resulting in a distorted view of the flexing of the shaft. This can be countered somewhat by using the recorder 90° on it's side, so the frame will record from side to side (and you'll have to watch it sideways) instead of bottom to top - giving a better vertical representation of the club in motion because it will capture more of the club at a time. Cool stuff! 🤯

      ThePeebsb is say shaft is important for the very high and the very low but everyone inbetween not so much? I play off 6 and when I got fitted 3yrs ago I tried x,s and r. typically all 7i heads weigh the same or maybe I should say they used to, these new relofted irons -who knows what they weigh now. So that said, the mass of the 7i is constant, it's the swing speed/acceleration of the individual golfer that's causing the different shafts to bend more or less not necessarily a changing head mass. I hope that came across okay.

    I wish there were fitters like this in my area.
    The fitters here have you warm up with your current gamer. Then hit 5 balls with each replacement option. Which for me has been 5-6 brands. Then go back and tweak the shaft combination on the 1 or 2 that gave the best numbers. And YES this is done within the hour time slot of your fitting. That is my experience at 3 of the fitters in my area.

      I recognize that this presentation represents what to look for in an in depth, detailed evaluation and fitting. Although instructive, a one hour session may be appropriate for a young person with the patience and energy reserve to undergo the process. Same for low to no handicap players. Those over 40 and certainly 50 generally do not qualify for such a lengthy single session. The same with high handicappers with inconsistant swings. It is this market segment that presents more challenges for the club fitter with simplifying the process requiring fewer swings from a typical recreational golfer. Making a session more 'digestible' in presenting clear beneficial options ( as to club characterics and set make make up as applicable ) for the golfer that at the rec player level is a video I and many other professional club fitters would greatly appreciate. Thank you for this very technical presentation.

    A German doing precision engineering - down to a millimetre, what a surprise.
    In fairness a commercial fitter cannot spend an entire day with one customer. My last iron fitting took a couple of hours and we only tried 2 different heads but several different shafts - I ended up with i210s in a steelfiber 80g regular shaft which are wonderful. But even that was only semi-pro compared to Sinjin level of fitting.
    For me the next level of fitting would involve fitting more than just the 7i. That would allow more players to try a combo set or maybe just different shafts in the longer irons compared to mid irons or short irons

    Hi James, I love to watch your Vedio and do learn something new each time. I'm a 70 yrs old man, I used to score 80 to 85 in 20 years back. I stop playing golf since I retired when I'm 60s. Reason being no golf partners plus my lower back problem. Recently I pick it up again, and I lost all the distance. (My 7i used to be 160 yds average, but now it only goes to 120 yds max, what a big difference) I change my golf set to senior shaft. And I can't use my woods anymore besides my 7 wood. I'm thinking to buy a 3 hybrid to catch up the distance. FYI, I only have 6i - W in my bag. What do you think? Will the 3 hybrid be a good idea for me. Look forward to your advise.
    Thank you and regards..

      @wally6193 4 роки тому

      @@mattwilliamsgolf1 Well isn't the player reacting to the shaft while being tested with the Mizuno device? That's what the device is looking at, right. If you mean reacting after an hour of swinging then you might haver a point there. But then the device should be used again to see if the same shaft is suggested again? In the end I suppose there is no substitute for a real fitting like Sinjin does. The question is how close is the Mizuno device or is it out in left field, even after an hour. I guess Sinjin could do that analysis.

      @@jcripley5425 I think he's more than just experienced, how many fitters will tell you that your spin rate should equal the iron you're hitting(7i=7000rpm), how many tell you the SF should be at least 140 even with an iron. I've heard fitters say "oh 132 is good because it's just an iron". This guy knows the science behind a good fitting.

    Mr Robinson thanks for producing such great content. I am a big believer in efficiency/smash factor. Do you believe amateurs should strive for the smash factor stats of LPGA/PGA published by Trackman? Is it realistic?

    Hi James ,keep the content coming but where is part 2 of the fitting?
    Need to see the difference of the shaft being spined to smash factor ,descent angle and dispersion .
