What does a cough look like through a single layer mask?

Ever wonder why the CDC does NOT recommend single layer masks?
In this video, we use our portable laser sheet imaging device - the SprayScan mPT - to shoot a simulated cough through a single layer mask. The "cough" is an air and water mix sent through a tube connected to an AutoJet spray controller.
You can see from the spray that goes through the mask that a significant number of particles are not captured by the mask and, therefore, released into the atmosphere.
