In this video I will tell you if cinestill 400D is really worth all the hype it gets.
I took a roll of it on a trip to Amsterdam to try it out

Great shots, I really like how amazing the colors are on this film stock. Keep up the great work!

It’s really nice. I’m surprised how much I like it. My local lab here has a lot of it. I got the KV3 250d version (respooled by flicfilm)

yea I think thats the same as cinestill 400d. I'm excited to shoot more of it! curious to see if there is a difference between the c41 and the ecn2 processed ones too!

Got my first roll of it back last week. It's very versatile. Not too much contrast like Ektar but I still like the color more than Portra 160.

I think it's probably my favorite film stock so far, but to be fair I am still very new to film photography

They didn't introduce anything new lmao. There's a film shortage, they just cut up Kodak's motion picture film and repackage it. They saw an opportunity, and took it!

The new part would be developing kodak motion picture film using c41 I guess. It's still something...

I still need to try CineStill ... but I am actually not a massive fan of the halations. Maybe once I shoot it I might feel different. Anyways, nice video. Greets from Cape Town , South Africa

Thanks! Like I said, maybe regular kodak vision 3 is more your thing then! Same dope colors without the halations, try it out

Nice video. Kodak negative films all look too yellow. How great it was when E100 was re-introduced. But that one looks too blue! The really good one, Provia, unfortunately looks like it might be on the way out.

Can this be fixed with color filters? Or are we doomed to choose a color

@@crtvfrdm Sure, but not very practical if you have a lot of lenses.

I just had this stock come off the roll so it couldn’t be rewinded. So sad. Had a waitress throw the roll away…… such a bummer.

Hi there! I’ve been having some trouble shooting this film stock! I develop my photos but I always get a lot of the film halation but when I see other peoples pics I don’t see the same thing happening! What do you think I could be doing wrong?

    • @crtvfrdm
      @crtvfrdm  11 місяців тому

Without having a look at the photos that would be really hard for me to tell. Do you have a store close to you that develops film? I'm sure they would be very happy to tell you what they think. As I have no experience developing my own photos yet I can't really help you out there!
If I would have to give a wild guess though, I would say, are you shooting this at very low shutter speeds? That might cause it. I shot some long exposure cinestill 800t not too long ago and the halations are kind of out of control on those

Did you shoot it at box speed?
