- WWF Raw is the 3rd and final LJN WWF game on the SEGA GENESIS and soon afterwards Acclaim would take over and release WWF Wrestlemania The Arcade Game. Out of all the classic 8-bit and 16-bit WWF/WCW games (although no WCW games were released on the SEGA GENESIS sadly), this one has stood alone as the one I could frustratingly never finish and the one for some reason or another, I could never understand how to play and get into like I could the other ones. Well being stuck on the couch sick for a couple days apparently changed all that.......finally. I grew up on all the old school WWF games as a kid right when the Attitude Era was in full swing so my friends and I at least had one or more wrestling games for whatever system(s) we owned. Now while I did not get this one until my late teens in the late 2000's, I was already well acquainted with this type of wrestling game. And it well and truly tested my patience. So I didn't really play it for the next 10 yrs. But after doing some homework on it and that it had the best reputation on the SEGA GENESIS out of all the WWF games, I gave it another try. After some real grinding I have come to agree that it is a very enjoyable game and arguably the best of the WWF games of the 16-bit era...although Royal Rumble is still probably my favorite WWF game on the console lol. My only gripe is still that the CP difficulty is ramped up too difficult too quickly. So while this playthough isn't some hardcore technical grind session, I aimed to do a fun and semi-relaxing playthough and to show a little bit that these games are not all bad, and I do believe are rather decent for their time when viewed in that context. A good time killer on a rainy afternoon and worth picking up for sure if you happen to run across a loose copy. Thanks for watching!

IMO this game is too fast--the SNES and 32X versions were way better in that regard. BUT, I was a SEGA Genesis kid, so it still feels like this is "my" version to play. I do like the vibe of colors in this version...instead of making a watered down version of the SNES version's visuals, they worked with what the Genesis could do, and everything feels gritty and red.
Totally agree on the grittiness and it having a bit of a more vivid color scheme
Have you ever considered doing a Sega Genesis game play of The Pagemaster?
Yes actually I have...considered it many times. Hopefully I'll end up doing it sometime soon, we'll see I guess since there's certainly a few more Sega Genesis games I would like to do. And Pagemaster is certainly one of them, along with Gargoyles, TMNT Tournament Fighters, Scooby Doo etc
