As a bruins fan yes this is a clean big hit but is it really the “most satisfying hit in the NHL ever? I think not. This just seems like a leaf’s fan that’s just mad jealous that his team sees the golf course longer and more often than Marchand and the bruins.
The most satisfying hit in NHL history by far. I am sad to see Subban retire so early. Marchand is the dirtiest player in NHL history too. I simply don't understand why he has gotten very soft punishments for what he has done to other players.
@@greenmt1100 marchand is the most suspended player in NHL history. So no, it isn’t a stretch at all. Actually saying otherwise is a stretch. At least cooke kept things honest and did the honorable thing by taking a beating once in a while for his dirty play. Like he did when he fought shawn thronton for his hit on savard (which was 100 percent legal at the time). But marchand? Never. Never will that coward follow the code. Absolutely no honor in that guy at all.
The most satisfying hit, for me, was Larry Robinson’s clean, thunderous hit on Gary Dornhoefer in the 1976 SC Finals. However, Larry Robinson’s complete dismantling of Dave Schultz was the most satisfying moment in Habs’ lore, for me. Andre “Third Man In” Dupont saved Schultz from a trip to the morgue.
Lifelong Bruins fan here. Long Live The Rat King! Who is still playing now AND who still makes his team a very scary opponent every time he takes the ice? Hate him all you want, but you know you'd want him on your team if the opportunity ever came.
Even when he played more like a jerk, he still had mad feet and hands skills. Now that he's stop doing all that stupidity he's severely a mad force in the NHL even more so. Year after year he's scoring 25-30 goals top five in points dancing circles around the defense
it's a shame he never won a Cup, but then again a lot of great players don't. He also broke a Cup rule and some would say that's why he never won one (he drank from the cup before winning it).
Only time Brad Marshand did not play goon hockey was when Canada won Gold medal in Vancouver in 2010. The announcers were asking why Canada had a goon style player and wondering when he would do something stupid and cost us a game? Never happened. I do wonder what a few teammates may have said to him before the games began. Babcock had him playing with Sid the kid.
I vaguely remember this time. I was in highschool, watching hockey from time to time. However, when you have a cheap shit like this on the ice, the satisfying hit is the most satisfying if hit them so hard that you see him visibly struggling to get up and sloooooowly skate to the bench after.
If so many people hate Marchand it just means he’s doing his job. If people are crying about Marchand then it means he’s scoring goals and getting under everyone’s skin. He’s living rent free in y’all’s heads
As a Bruins fan, I'm compelled to point out that one of these players is still playing and is on track to win his second cup, and the other is already gone and cupless. But as a hockey fan, I'll freely admit that PK helped make the early-2010s chapter of the rivalry into the awesome thing it was.
As a Bruins fan, there is a lot to like about his game. I enjoyed watching him. One thing that bothered me was the diving, it is the culture of the Canadiens. Difference is, when a Bruins player embellishes we hate it and call it out.
My fave moment was when PK was back in Montreal after being traded to Nashville. The Montreal fans gave him such a welcome he was in tears. Here: ua-cam.com/video/Gp6R1e8uh80/v-deo.html
“Most satisfying moment in NHL hockey history”? Not sure how old you are buddy, but there’s plenty more hockey moments in NHL history that are far more satisfying than this. Hell, the 96-97 Red Wings had a dozen or more themselves.
The Bruins drafted the first black hockey player in the NHL ... then YEARS later we get draft the biggest white instigator ... then there's this beautiful pissing match 😆. Go B's , Subban was an amazing friggin player , zero arguments here , even as Boston born and bred Bruins fan
Difference between the reasons why Marchand and Subban were disliked: Marchand did what he did with a hockey purpose--to get under the skin of opponents. Subban just indulged his own ego.
Being from Boston, Brad is my favorite player because he's not just a great hockey player. He's very spicy and we like that around here! Now that both his hips are done he has the ability for much more fun. I'd say sorry to the rest of the NHL, but I'm really not.
Hey the videos have been great. But a big PK fan? With lots of great memories!? Lol! Who's still playing and probably going to win another cup this year?
The only thing I disagree with is the comment that Marchand is the player "you love to hate, but would love to have on your team." He's cheap, dirty, and costs you in the long run. His antics will either cause him to be suspended, or end up drawing penalties against you that would harm the team during the regular season. As a die-hard Blues fan, I can wholly attest that I'm tired of Jordan Binnington's crap for the exact same reasons.
Indeed. But for active players, I think it's a toss-up between Marchand and Wilson. Marchand has been suspended more, but I think Wilson has committed the most dangerous infractions (of the two).
I’m a big Marchand/Bruins fan. I wouldn’t for a moment claim that Marchand has never taken a single cheap shot or questionable action, but he definitely gets way over-scrutinised because of it. There’s plenty of stuff that gets called dirty when he does it but wouldn’t be looked at twice if it was another player. I know that comes with the deal having crossed the line at times, but he definitely is under the microscope and looked at/judged a lot closer than virtually any other player.
I guess it’s just fashionable to hate on Brad Marchand. Fact is that he is the best right winger in the world. And he hasn’t committed a dirty penalty in over five years… I guess when you first enter the league when you’re 20 years old, you build up a reputation and it follows you for your whole career. Factice is that he plays next to Patrice Bergeron who’s probably the most classiest and most respected player in the entire NHL… And if he was a dirty player, Bergeron wouldn’t play with him… Look at the players of the Bruins acquired this year that was accused of bullying, a kid in his teens, Bergeron wanted no part of it and gotten kicked off the team. Marshawn changed his attitude in the way. He played the game because of Bergeron. So people can keep calling him dirty but the fact is is that he’s not anymore I wouldn’t that he was in his early 20s when he first entered the league but that’s just simply not the case anymore, he is kept that giant and those of his clean and has been the most dominant right winger in the NHL. I guess people that don’t follow him regularly don’t know when they just carry the stigma around for the rest of his career but I think it’s unfair… Shit I certainly wouldn’t want to be blamed for my entire career for stuff that I pulled in my early 20s… Just saying if you’re one of these people that hates Brad Marchand and thinks he’s dirty,… Why don’t you do a little bit of research and follow his recent play before making judgments now
I will always appreciate Marchand for taking that last line change with 7 seconds left in the first period to give the Blues the gwg in game 7 of the Stanley cup.
Let's be honest, PK wore out his welcome. Teammates found him entertaining at first and then his act wore very thin. He's only 33. Should still be able to play somewhere even though his best offensive days are long gone.
My favourite PK moment was when he played for Nashville against Pittsburgh in the finals, when he chirped Crosby about the mouthwash and Sid buried them the next couple games to win the cup and MVP! That was so deliciously sweet knowing that big mouth Subban wouldn’t win a cup and now he never will. Totally overrated loser, PK😂
Mannnn. They did PK dirty. I feel bad and unfair for him. MTL didn't treat him right and his career pretty much went downhill once he got traded. PK was genuinely a good dude. But the traditionalist in the NHL are a joke.
Unm yeah 1) Marchand wasn't the dirty player he became back then 2) the bruins won the cup that year and broke the canadiens hearts in overtime of game 7 3) the chara thing was ridiculous 4) the bruins and canadiens have hated. Each other since the stock market crash of 29. It doesn't matter where either team is in the standings.

Just like how Marchand has gotten away from most of these antics, but will always be remembered for them.
pk was my fav hockey player at this tyme ~ i like offensive D / makar is my new favorite ~ im a habs fan so was bummed when he went to vegas ~ in the playoffs ( not sure which round ) when vegas was the big surprise ~ the team i was rooting for got a penalty & i said ' the only one who is allowed to score is pk ' and then ~ well he did ~
I remember watching this live. Thinking 'players get blown up trying to skate like that'....then BOOM. Amazing hit
Funny to say.. one of my favorite hits does include subban. Ovi on subban 🤣🤣👏💯💯💯
Brad Marchand truly is one of the greatest hockey players of all time.
Good joke. Lol
"Hey Siri, tell me another joke."
As a bruins fan yes this is a clean big hit but is it really the “most satisfying hit in the NHL ever? I think not. This just seems like a leaf’s fan that’s just mad jealous that his team sees the golf course longer and more often than Marchand and the bruins.
The flying ass check that shook the world! (Or at least shook Marchand's world!) 😁
there was talk of charges for chara?! that is straight up insane
Yes, Canadiens fans actually called 911 (or the Canadian equivalent) to try to press charges.
The most satisfying hit in NHL history by far. I am sad to see Subban retire so early. Marchand is the dirtiest player in NHL history too. I simply don't understand why he has gotten very soft punishments for what he has done to other players.
Dirtiest player in history is a stretch. That should go to Matt Cooke.
@@greenmt1100 We all have different perspectives. Marchand is much worse than Matt by a big margin, in my opinion.
Almost as satisfying as seeing Marchand still going strong in the league and yet Subban is gone like the wind. 🎯
you get a twinkle in your eye when marchand gets on the ice or what
I’d personally say Matt Cooke is the dirtiest in the NHL at the time.
Can’t believe PK is already retired
I miss Bob Cole's voice
I seen the thumbnail and knew exactly what this was.
Marchand was not an up and coming superstar at that time. No one expected him to reach the levels he has now.
Love it...bs won cup that season
Agreed. Marchand deserves whatever he gets. This hit always brings a smile to my face.
With that poke at 2:35, Marchand reminded me of a cat.
I was at this game!
Difference between the reasons why Marchand and Subban were disliked: Marchand did what he did with a hockey purpose--to get under the skin of opponents. Subban just indulged his own ego.
2010 was right in the middle of what I like to call the best of the modern pest era.
Knew what it was when I saw the thumbnail
Being from Boston, Brad is my favorite player because he's not just a great hockey player. He's very spicy and we like that around here! Now that both his hips are done he has the ability for much more fun. I'd say sorry to the rest of the NHL, but I'm really not.
Exactly!
Hey the videos have been great. But a big PK fan? With lots of great memories!? Lol! Who's still playing and probably going to win another cup this year?
A D-Man with the bum first approach
PK = pink kush = purple kush
very good times where has by all!
As a Bruins fan. I get it. I love him. But I would hate him on another team haha
Subban with the bumble bee sting 🐝
Love Marchand. Go Bruins!!😁
Absolutely love Brad Marchand-and if he was on your team you would too
Nah. Dude is the scumiest player in the league. Absolute trash human being. Deserves every bad thing that happens to him lmao
Majority would say Marchand to this day. Majority obviously haven’t heard of Sean Avery 😂
Indeed. But for active players, I think it's a toss-up between Marchand and Wilson. Marchand has been suspended more, but I think Wilson has committed the most dangerous infractions (of the two).
I would give anything for that Subban haymaker to have landed.
If wishes were fishes. Marchand embarrassed him.
Kronwalled him into next week
The "modern" Bruins/ Habs rivalry started in 2002 with the hit on Zednik in the playoffs
Marchand is one of the best players in the world! End of discussion!
That hit on Patches was disgusting. Chara should've been suspended for the season.
If Marchand got cancer.....people would wear cancer ribbons....ROOTING for the cancer to win!!
Tell me you hate the bruins without saying you hate the bruins
Marchand should've died on this hit
Who still playing on his original team?
Unm yeah
1) Marchand wasn't the dirty player he became back then
2) the bruins won the cup that year and broke the canadiens hearts in overtime of game 7
3) the chara thing was ridiculous
4) the bruins and canadiens have hated. Each other since the stock market crash of 29. It doesn't matter where either team is in the standings.
who tf thinks Marchand is the dirtiest player? there are so many players that the average hockey fan would name before Marchand. perry, wilson, reaves are all way more hated
