Beautiful cake. We also love making cakes and different food. The way we make a geode cake is a bit different. Really enjoy making these types of cakes and cookies
Hey I really enjoyed the tutorial for this cake but it is a little advanced for me as I'm just beginning to learn to bake amazing cakes like this. Would it be possible to use gold paint instead of gold leaf or would that look bad? Also would it be easier to use white or clear rock candy and paint it if I wanted a gradient affect?
Hey Allen! I definitely wouldn't recommend paint unless it's 100% food safe/edible. For my geode cake I used powdered gold luster dust but you can use gold leaf if you happen to have that on hand! Also for the rock candy I think it would be easier to use a mix of white and purple candy like I did. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!! :)

Hi ! I will be making this for a friends birthday. Amazing work looks outstanding! I had a couple questions... are you just using frosting to hold the rock candy ? And is that edible paint or glitter you used? Sorry if you mentioned in the video.
Hi Elena I hope this reply isn't too late but yes! I am just using frosting to hold the rock candy, and I always use edible gold lustre dust :) I hope your cake went well. Happy baking and thanks!
Excellent work. I have watched four times now because I am going to try to replicate this cake for my niece’s birthday. Well done.

Where do you get the rock candy?💓

Can I use marshmallow fondant?
juan jara I’ve never tried using marshmallow fondant but if that’s what you’re comfortable with when it comes to covering cakes, I don’t see why not 😊
