The area around Gojozaka used to be a production area for Kiyomizu-yaki, with many kilns for firing pottery. Now the kiln workshops have been relocated en masse to the outskirts of the city, and production is no longer carried out here. Walking through the town, you can feel the past in the few remaining old houses. However, there is a sense of loneliness in the town where industry has already moved away.
