I'm very lucky to live just over 10miles from the Woods Cyclery and visit every week for coffee, yummy buns and to empty my bank account buying something each time I visit 😂
Tom, the owner is a top guy and knows his stuff inisde out. Everyone there is very welcoming and Austin, Tom's dog as featured in the video is the best ❤

Since I have been riding again I experienced all sorts of beautiful moments. The other day I happened upon a Blad Eagle with a vulture in its clutches. I slammed on brakes and was 5 feet away from it. I was in amazment since I had never seen one in wild.

Such a magical place.
Only live a couple of miles from here and have to say it really is a great place to stop for a coffee and cake. The crew are super friendly and a big shout out to Seb for his patience with my endless questions after buying my first bike at 62 last November….now just super addicted. Praise well deserved Woods Cyclery 👍

Those look like great bikes. I had the Pelago Bristol as a commuter bike when I lived in London. Loved it. The Hanko was on my radar too but not easy to buy in Korea.
@@probablyriding I wanted to try the Bristol, but they didn’t have any in the store. Instead I had the chance to try the Silvo, which is also quite popular. I think I might get the Hanko tho hehe.

As many folks probably told you on your return to the UK, you didn't just hit poor weather, it's been like that most of the year so far.
The weather was pretty atrocious but kind of a nice break from the heat, storms and humidity of Korea.
Woods Cyclery is a must when you’re there. Maybe even rent some bikes!
@@probablyriding I'll be too time-poor for that this time around. We run an annual event for Honda Cubs (C90s) which is why I'll be there. I'll definitely browse though, and look to head back there and ride sometime.

I am really a proponent of local riding but the New Forest is on my short bucket list of destination rides. Fortunately,
we get to England now and then (and my wife loves the NF) so it could happen. Thanks also for featuring the Woods Cyclery. I have known about them for a while but your video reinforced my respect for this shop. I’m a Riv rider and finding a satisfying rental while on a trip is challenging. I once spent a glorious half day cycling on the Isle of Man that was marred by an uncomfortable hybrid style bike. Love your channel! Thanks for sharing your travels as well as your home riding.

A couple of weeks ago I was looking for some shorter bike packing trips in Europe and stumbled upon the rat run. I read a bit about it and it's creator Tom. After this I got into bikes and riding again and shortly after I stumbled upon your channel which I am amazed of. I recently rode some of those tracks on my gravel bike. Lovely views and nice car free routes. Sadly my mates wouldn’t let me stop by Woods Cyclery , they are keen Electric MTB riders😩. Don’t know why I ride with them really 🤔 I was longing to see a Rivendell in the flesh. The Rufus Stone looks a beauty. You’re a lucky guy and nice to see that your popularity pulls some strings.

I made a similar observation when following alt cyclists online - it always turned out that we had similar interests, politics and ideas. I never looked further into an alt cyclist persona like you, Ron, PathLessPedaled etc. and eventually found out that actually, they're a rude, conservative grump who doesn't like dogs or something. Always the opposite. I love all my people.
Your comments on worldwide friends makes me regret that I never invited you for a coffee ride when I was in Seoul when your channel had just started. As a fellow introvert, the danger of accidentally projecting some parasocial friendship onto someone and crossing boundaries by pushing to meet seemed too scary. But if you ever do a "probably riding" group ride when I'm back, I'll be sure to sign up. That's one of the joys of cycling, it really brings people together.

Rune has similar sizing as Singular, I don’t understand why they make the standover so high- my only complaint about those two brands-

I didn’t pack much for my trip to England. My clothes were all quick dry nylon, the only problem was they didn’t have a chance to dry! Luckily I had a change of clothes with me.
@@probablyriding Well, just a typical british summer then I guess ;) Warm rain is not too bad and you look like the three of you had fun. Just wonder why those bikes had no fenders fitted. Berthoud Cycles and Velo Orange make some really nice classic looking ones that look nice on bikes imho. Especially in silver. Just a thought! :) Thanks for the video.
