This is a perfect why: O&A was the best radio show for having the best comedian regulars around, especially Patrice, keeping batshit callers on, talking about insane subjects like Manson conspiracy theories, being hilariously vulgar, Opie berating callers, Ant coming against Patrice with logic and witty sensibility, and doing one great bit for almost an hour. I discovered Patrice O'Neil about 3 days ago. I've been bi ge watching him for about 72 hours now. This guy legit reframed my mind and thinking. I definitely needed it badly.
Was with someone for 13 years and I'm 7 months out no contact with her. Really hurt badly as she randomly just moved out and into her brothers house with his wife and new baby and her sister. I helped raise her daughter from age 8 to now 21.
Her and I met on a video game back in 2008 when I was 23 and she was 27. Talked 6 months and she took a bus to come see me. After a couple weeks, she just stayed. I was so happy. These past 7 months felt hopeless and just in dispare man.. dating NOW DAYS is totally different than back in 2008. It's so horrible now..pointless.
Patrice logic way of thinking, describing EVERYTHING I went through but explaining the WHY behind it helps me understand it all. No way in hell could I get these answers anywhere else let alone from her , herself.
I can't thank Patrice enough for finally explaining things. It seemed to be happening back then as well, but in 2021 it's very badly now days. Hrb definitely was ahead of the game and ahead of his time. I'd love to hear what he's gotta say about TODAY'S times. Rip Patrice 💪❤

Patrice is blunt, which is refreshing in this world of half-truths & pussy-footing.
Nobody in media speaks up about how to reclaim your manly energy.
There’s a Patrice-style comedian named “Aba.” He’s younger but similar attitude. Aba talks about growing up with tons of Oprah type resources, but no help about how to develop as a man.
If you’re on the straight and narrow, just keep being a good person, don’t cave into the crowd. It all works out. You just gotta stick with it. Most people fail cuz they want their character to develop overnight.

They were collecting meta data and running pattern recognition software on it. And because its illegal to spy on your own citizens the U.S Gov get us Brits to spy on you and we get you to spy on us. Damn, after minute 30 a lot was revealed about this show. Anthony got so easily offended with Rene’s ‘cop party’ comment. Then Patrice realized Rene was probably only listening and calling in to disagree with Ant. Then Ant kind of let it slip that he hated the show as well. And for all the shit Opie got, he seemed to already know some people only listened because they disagreed with Ant. That’s why he slipped in that “Rene made some good points” line to further anger Ant.

I've never been to prison, so this is just my opinion. I think you would adapt over time, depending on who you are as person and which prison you are in, you'd eventually get into habits. That doesn't mean you'd be happy but I think you could achieve some version of peace. I mean, what do some people do. They go to work, they go home, that's it. That's not far from prison, depending on your perspective. Again, depends on who you are and which prison you are in, obviously some prisons are horrific, while others are more safe.
Either way, let's think about what the point of prison is or should be. Is it not the point of prisons, to hold those we deem to dangerous to be out in normal society, so we as a culture have set up laws that if you break, we have designed a system of punishment to fairly judge how long we put you into a cell, lock you inside for a said time length, and then let you back out.
So, what's the point of that time. We are punishing you by taking your free time. What should your time in prison be about. How should we set up a prison system to be an effective and efficient use of that time. It's used currently almost fully to the point of punishment. Our society views prison as a punishment, so they think it should have suffering. But why. Why not treat it like a school, I mean military school. If we used prison as a form of training people in a worthwhile matter, maybe prison would be useful and have better outcomes.
Do we really need to lock evry single prisoner in a cell. Sure some humans are broken, i mean they are mentally or morally corrupt, they've done something so horrific, they need to be punished, for justice or revenge whatever. But I mean come on guys, we could turn our low level prisons into the next greatest banch of the United States military.
I think I've made a great argument to set up our level prisons with military style bootcamp training programs. Why not. So many people in the system are non violent, some just in for drug trafficking dealing. Why not use that time we have justifiably taken from them, to train a new branch for the military. I'm just saying.

The "Operation Charlie Manson" guy toward the end said that the fact that the iceman is still alive "Proves a lot". Funny thing is, they only did two of those Christmas interviews before he died in 2005. Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia:
In October 2005, after nearly 18 years in prison, Kuklinski was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease (an inflammation of the blood vessels). He was transferred to a secure wing at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey. Although he had asked doctors to make sure they revived him if he developed cardiopulmonary arrest (or risk of heart attack), his then-former wife Barbara had signed a "do not resuscitate" order. A week before his death, the hospital called Barbara to ask if she wished to rescind the instruction, but she declined.[67] Kuklinski died at age 70 on March 5, 2006.[5] At the request of Kuklinski's family, noted forensic pathologist Michael Baden reviewed his autopsy report. Baden confirmed that Kuklinski died of cardiac arrest and had been suffering with heart disease and phlebitis.[63]
Maybe he wasn't protected by the Illuminati, but got Epsteined by his wife? Or maybe the doctors took her advice over the 70 year old serial murderer and it's just as retarded as using Charlie Manson as a Donnie Brasco to Al Qaeda.

Renee owns Anthony on this one, called him out on being a stupid cop loving civilian and then they hung up on him. Patrice is right there’s no way prison gets much easier or enjoyable. But any bad day on the outside is better than the best stay inside.

I can attest to some of the horrors you experience in prison, so I get where you're coming from- some days it feels like the full moon was out the night before and its driving people up the walls
You can have a good streak and then suddenly it all goes downhill and you wonder if you'll make it out alive. I've been packed out, held at gunpoint by guards, raided, sent to solitary for the dumbest nonsense- its like the army the only easy day was yesterday
With that said, Anthony makes perfect sense: when you are in jail for anywhere beyond 2 years it becomes routine. People know you and you know the rules. Granted you're not that guy who is _always_ feeling some kind of way, people have no reason to beef with you
This goes double if you're in there for being a maniac. Nobody wants problems with a stone cold killer. The circumstances would have to be really diverse for a person to go out of their way to stab you
By my count, violence is either gang related (sorting stuff WITHIN the gang), a riot of sorts, things like stealing, or just people dont get along (personality clash)
Violence never happens at random, even with a group of misfits, people are prone to common sense

These two white guys that ain’t ever spent time in the system don’t even know how to relate to what Patrice is proposing. He is saying that JAIL or any time you are sentenced to the state for a crime found guilty for then that should be the punishment. Nothing else after serving time should be possible. I served both military and some time for a DWI and my service was trumped by the jail sentence. So yes I agree with Patrice’s statement that after serving the time no other barriers need to be met from then on out. As for severe level offenses they obviously serve longer terms and mostly likely aren’t of sound mind after spending 25 plus years institutionalized since there is zero rehabilitation happening.

Patrice's point made complete sense to me. Yet, there's zero chance it will ever be this way unfortunately. You're branded with the scarlet J (or P) for life and everything's going to be harder and more bureaucratic whenever your background is available or has to be disclosed. But I do agree with you on the longer sentences and that there's no rehabilitation happening. It's punishment and crony corporate slavery. I can see people getting antsy about that and wanting nothing to do with it or some assurances. Now for the shorter ones, I think there should be zero bureaucracy to it. It should be down to personal preferences by individuals when it comes to how they feel about you as a person and your past.

No apartment complex/town house complex/mobile home park will accept me, and I can't get a good enough job to afford a house. I have 3 more years to go under Texas state law to be able to get an apartment again. Still won't be able to get almost any job that pays more than $70,000 a year because positions that pay that much are allowed to discriminate based on convictions up to 19 years back. 19 fucking years. Imagine someone doing a 10 year sentence than having to wait that 19 extra years to get a job paying more than $70,000. That's about 30 fucking years. You'd have to wait till you're an old fucking man to start working towards retiring. It's un-fucking-real

Life in prison isn't for everyone. I believe some introverts, like possibly that serial killer Rifkin, can handle it and it becomes their routine life. But people leaning more towards the extrovert end of the scale will go insane. Some people have a rich inner life, mentally, others don't. Others live externally. And in their case, prison will deprive them of their lives.

Charles Manson was programmed by the cia program MK Ultra. He got out of prison after several prison sentences. Always federal always for something petty like driving a stolen car over a state line. He would leave his probation area, and his probation officer would ok it and get his back. He came out the last time out of prison and for the first time ever had a small cult of people following him like a month later. He would take the women to a clinic regularly to get checked out for sex reasons and he would go off somewhere. The doctor there was connected to the mk ultra program and the prison he had been in was also connected to the mk ultra program. After while he developed a cult he was moving around the state freely under the protection of specific federal government employees. It's crazy. A dude wrote a book about it and I believe 4 months before it was released the clinic shut down after decades of operation.

As much sense as it makes giving ex convicts jobs so they aren't left with crime as the only option, the idea of them having priority over people who haven't fucked up their lives doesn't sit right with me. What would discourage people from committing crime if they knew they were guaranteed a job once they got out of prison? As long as it wasn't a massive sentence, it would be pretty appealing to just sell drugs and if you get caught you just do your time and then you are almost guaranteed a job afterwards. It could discourage repeat offenses, but encourage people to commit crime in the first place.

Lastly, even if his real name is Gregg, he calls himself Opie which is worse because the guy named Renee was probably given that name by his parents but Gregg made the conscious decision to change his name.
