Bode was the textbook example of someone who had lost everything then gained something as valuable and then just lost it again, you can really understand why he did what he did in the end but doesn’t excuse for all the wrong that he had done. That relationship he had with Cal was mostly pure, every persuasion to make him give up the traditions of a Jedi and to live his life the way he wants really shows how much that he actually cared about him just sad that he had to face down with him in the climax.😢
I'm not crying.. I'm not crying... so much feels in this short video. I hadn't found all of Bode's Echos after the game, so some dialogue I hadn't head yet, but everything makes so much sense in his perspectives. This game's story is definitely a masterpiece. Thank you for this
You made him look like such a complex character, condensing it all down into this bite-sized sample of everything he was in the game, strung together in an excellent way. The escalating voice-overs as people talk about what he's willing to do for Kata and the juxtaposition of him handing over the pistol and what it ultimately does...sublime.
Bode Akuna. The Wildcard. A rouge Jedi who’s worked for the Empire. Through he chose the wrong side, he doesn’t do these things without remorse. All of it, the pain of others, for his daughter Kata. He couldn’t save his wife, and it changed him for the worse. Using the Force in ways that’s all too familiar.
Ghost Star is such a haunting song. So many different meanings to it. First it was a lullaby for Kata, then a prayer to Tayala, and in the end, a funeral hymn for Bode. I ain't suing you for using it again, I'm giving you a fuckin' award. Excellent edit. So much to explore in this incredible game.
This character won't leave my mind. Especially since I adore Red Dead Redemption 2 and hearing my dude Noshir Dalal gives me the tingles. It's all so tragic.
The blending of Ghost Star and the Force Theme is really beautiful but also made me cry 😭 this video is amazingly edited and shows how complex Bode was so well, thank you for making this
This is some amazing work! The way you put all of these clips and voice lines together really helps show how complex Bode's character really is through out the game.
What a fantastic edit! I've been loving all your edits and I'm glad to see Bode get a full one! Such an excellent character and you did a great job bringing his struggle to life in this! And Ghost Star never gets old so no need to worry about that! Captures the pain of Bode so perfectly! I get why Bode didn't surrender, but if only right? But heck, if only sums up most of star wars tragedies
Why would anyone complain about using ghost start again? Lol. But in all seriousness, this is pretty darn great. I particularly have to respect your goal of presenting his story chronologically and the clever edits from other scenes you used to construct visuals for narrative beat that only have audio was very well done. I also relate to the difficulty of constructing narrative for character, who isn’t the POV of a story. I’m currently working on a video it’ll probably take forever to finish but features a character that spends about one third of the franchise they’re part of having their character be told to the audience rather than shown, it’s gonna be a real headache. Once again, great job! I’m guessing you’re not going to stop here based on your clear love of these games and I look forward to whatever you plan on cooking up next.
