Thank you for a very interesting tour. I have ancestors that lived in St. Louis. I remember St. Louis in the 1960s and it was a very old city even then. My family in St. Louis had the last name Zopfie. I've been looking for St. Louis addresses for Zopfies and haven't found any. I want to see if any buildings I remember are still standing. I'll be watching more of your videos. I'm fascinated by architecture and history in general.

This was really cool. Funny how it's, just another house until you see all of the detail. The oldest house that was shown, it was a fur trappers house blew my mind. I'd love to see st Louis as open land.
Thankfully, you'll be able to learn a lot from our channel. Other than that, checking out books at your local library, reading through the descriptions of homes listed on the Historic Register, and taking historic walking tours are all great ways to learn more!

I live in soulard and take nightly walks looking at all the architecture. I've been trying to figure out the history of the big abandon building at 2122 s. Ann here in soulard. Do you have any info on it?
The Flanders House reminded me of a style of house in Charleston SC. One room wide, two stories high with full length covered porches on each floor. The entrance door was usually onto the lower porch. I've always wondered at the name of the style, would anyone know it?

Try looking up some censuses using the words Census, St. Louis and your relatives last name.

I use to be live there on 10 th st + Geyer st across the house a long time ago 😎I was 10 years old live in Soulard

I would think those flounder houses were very good at catching Rainwater. Rainwater was collected and stored in cisterns to use for drinking water.
