Great stuff. Enjoyed that a lot. Really worked out well in the end despite the shortcomings of the product.

It's a shame about the flaws because otherwise this is quite a fun model. I'm glad someone still makes a hotpot launcher too.

Nice video, lovely paintwork on the model. Interesting thoughts on 3D printing and the future of models. I suspect I may not be able to escape getting a printer eventually... sigh.

It all depends on why you collect I think, if you collect nice little sculptures then you will probably never need a printer. However if you collect specific gaming pieces then i think they are going to be more and more handy. The ultimate example being DnD where a certain fig is required for a session but quality is the lest important over speed and price.

Also let's face it of I can make nicer models at home for cheaper (after the initial cost) why would I spend extra for less quality?

@@ScruffyCrow oh I agree why pay more for rubbish, the issue is I don't have the initial start up money, nor do I have a PC (outside my work laptop) so would probably need a fancy one to do stuff from my phone etc. Im glad that companies are still making figures, and that there are companies etc that will print your 3D models for you (been eyeing up some bits). Its also a really great tool if you can use CAD, which I can't :(
Im sure that if 3D printers are the future then they will eventually be £40 in the centre aisle at Lidl or Aldi lol.

@@BrushQuill cost is lower and lower every day to be honest. The older Anycubic Photons (where the screen is not 4k and not monochrome but still can produce really nice minis, although slower) can be bought for less than 200$ now, new from them directly. A work laptop is enough if you are allowed to install Chitubox on it :) I currently have a Phrozen Mini 4k which was around 600€ and it's fantastic, a lot less hassle-free than my previous Photon. Print quality is great, and a liter of resin that is enough for a lot of stuff is around 70€ - upfront it's indeed more than you might spend on it, but in the long run it's really worth it when a mini that would cost 5-10€ in metal can be printed from 0.20€ worth of resin.

@@zirrian its the set up cost mate. Until they are like £50 I just am not in that position. I know in the long run might be cheaper but tbh I still want sculpts you can only buy as figures so...
All I'm saying is, that economical its not the best atm, BUT I can see a future where we all have one in our homes. They are close to 3D printing food (that lab grown burger a few years back), so in a couple of generations Star Trek style replicators arnt that unrealistic.
Just saying not everyone here, in 2021, can afford the set up. Arguing how cheap it is, doesn't put my wages up.
