Hi Jayda. 🌞 Last summer I took part in creating the “Folk Art Calendar Blanket.” As of now, I’m really excited to have crocheted the June sun granny & the July beach ball granny to hang on suction cups in my windows as summer decorations. I’ve gotten so many compliments on them, so I couldn’t accept the praise without mentioning you. I think it’s just remarkable how you create these patterns & I can’t tell you how impressive I think it is. Thank you so much for putting your heart & soul into it. Your work brings a lot of joy to many. ♥️
I just want to thank you for sharing this blanket. I am making it for my gradaughter and she loves it. Will post a picture when I am finished. Thank you. I LOVE THE BLANKET
Jaydainstitches, I am so glad I found you. You've made my joy of crocheting much more pleasurable as well as eliminated many existing dilemmas and struggles. I do love your enthusiasm. Thus far, I've completed all of the little town blanket, minus sewing on the appliques. You have so many wonderful tutorials to choose from, it was hard to pick one to start with. I'm conjunction to simi completing my little town blanket, I could not help but start on the 12 month seasonal blanket with all of the cute applique. Thanks, thanks, thanks
Thank you so so much Jayda! I'm enjoying stitching along with the calendar blanket more than I can say. I appreciate all of your hard work, bringing this wonderful project to us! :)
Hi Jayda! I hope you enjoyed your holiday. I started the beach ball blanket square late last night and finished it this afternoon. I decided to use different colors. To my surprise you used the same colors I chose, green and yellow! Instead o'f the light blue back ground I used a darker blue which really makes the sunshine applique pop. Thanks for sharing. Your crocheting friend Ava.
So Perfect and of course Super Cute for July; my birthday month! Sending Hugz beach ball back to you Jayda! Thank you so much for being so generous with your design, time, and patience to teach us how. Your bubbly personality has been very healing for myself and this project is meaning the world not only to myself but my precious grandson who is looking forward to receiving this blanket for his Christmas present. Thank you so much! XO
Your beach ball is so perfectly round!! Thank you for making it for us. I love it!! Everyday is beach day here in Hawaii!! Since it is a little warm here for crocheted Afghans I am thinking I will add a couple of extra rows to the square and make it into a pillow!!! 😀😀‼️
Oh Lordy, haven't seen the whole tutorial yet but I'm like eeek! how the heck do we do that lol! Deep breath, large fizzy drink and snacks at the ready. Thank you Jayda, I know I'll be able to do it cus you are teaching 🐚🏊👙💖💖
I love your Videos Jayda Your always perky & Happy makes me want to crochet in this darn heat wave we are having here in Alberta Canada please someone one anyone send us some rain.............
Hi Candice, ohmygosh, you can have some of ours!! We've had the wettest spring/summer so far that I can remember! In fact, it's getting ready to rain some more RIGHT NOW! Sort of makes going to the beach a little, uh, soggy....
Jayda love your attitude you brighten the day makes me want to make something. Have a great day. My Daughter loves the beach going to make her a beach hat and beach bag and a beach blanket with all different beach items do you have a tutorial for a pail and shovel, bottle of sun lotion , anything beach if you have any suggestions I would love ideas. My Daughter graduates from Columbia University this is sort of a way of saying forget the snow you have endured and enjoy some sunshine.
Hi Cheryl, what a wonderful gift you're building for your daughter! Thank you for the suggestions, we have a couple of appliques you might want to consider: Our Anchor: ua-cam.com/video/P2X1m-kVylI/v-deo.html and Our Sailboat (filmed at the beach!) ua-cam.com/video/2OkEKWiknUk/v-deo.html
I just love your attitude and your laugh love ur creations finish my baby blanket I did a few of my own ideas into it making the blanket this one was a little bit hard but I'm enjoying myself 😍😁😊
Hi Jayda ,, I just want to tell you how much I'm enjoying doing this calendar blanket there so in detail and each square is turning out wonderful I'm soo excited it's like reading a good book you don't want it to come to the end but I look forward to the next Square I like how you have two different squares for July the flag or the beach ball awesome,, I love both of them but I'm going to choose the American flag thank you your crochet friend Sue💕
Hi Sue! Thank you :) It's been so much fun making this blanket, we're so happy that so many folks are making it along with us!! It's like a huge crochet-along!
I have to get going with my calenders, but I love the beach ball. So glad you didn't do just 4th of July. You R so talented. Well let me get started. GOD BLESS
Love love love the calendar squares thank you so much Jayda ... as I am in Australia I will be putting them together in a different order so will look quite different to yours. I may have to design an extra one for winter to fill it in so I have it look right which would be a huge challenge for me lol ... unless you would have time to do another winter one for us Aussies ... the August caravan one will be January for me and the sun November. Looking forward to the next 4 can't wait thank you again you are the best. 💜🌸
Hi there ... Thank you for your reply .... I was thinking as I crocheted the caravan ... which I love I might add ... would you have time to do a dog square I think that it would be popular as most people would like a doggy one ... plus the 26th of August is national dog day here in Aus so that would be perfect for an August square ... thanks again love you work and your videos 😊🌼🐶
Hi Victoria! Lots of folks in the southern hemisphere are just going to arrange their Calendar blanket squares in a way that's a little more fitting for their year, so feel free to put your Beach Ball square in the January or February slot :) Believe me, January here in Canada is not really beach-going weather LOL
Very jolly presenter, lovely items. Well explained. Just concerned by the very short ends and sewing in in a single direction. I make blankets for children, they have to withstand a lot of wash and wear, these short ends will come undone in no time.
Angela Prescott I just caught up yesterday, I knew Jayda would be putting up July, but not this quick lol! Gives me time to tackle the beach ball. Sure you'll catch up soon 😀😀
Hi! You can continue to add rows using the granny shell stitch, or make several of them and stitch them together like this: ua-cam.com/video/zMG6ll5m25A/v-deo.html
Love all of your tutorials! I started this calendar blanket today! I am also looking for a ladybug design square, not necessarily for this particular blanket, but similar. Do you have a design for a ladybug?
Good day, Jayda 😎 this pattern is so cute, but, I am very behind on calendar. I love your sundress. Did you sew this dress, too? Have a sunshine Friday 🚵♀️
Hi Sondra! Don't fret, you've got months yet to catch up, no rush! Thank you, I didn't make that dress (actually my husband bought it for me!) but I just love it :)
Jayda...i have modified your beach ball to make a bigger Pokémon ball for a blanket for my son. It has worked really well. I wish I could post a pic here and show you the reault. It came out awesome! Is there a way I can show you?
Hi Rachael, that sounds really neat! You can share photos with us on Instagram, Twitter, Etsy and Pinterest (we're at Jayda InStitches in all 4 locations!) Just be sure to tag us so we are sure to see it :)
Do you have a pattern for the American flag square that is in the background? (I am considering making this blanket to enter in the county fair & use as a backdrop display in my craft booths😊
Hi Jayda thank you very much for tutorial. I do not know what I am doing wrong but I have done two squares now as I can't for the life of me work out what I keep doing wrong! I followed the tutorial step by step but at the end of the third colour of ball it has gone wrong. I have undone both attempts and still do the same! I have basically cobbled the ball together and made sure I have the exact number of stitches for squaring off and border! I am really worried about the next square as I am not sure if I am as good as everyone else for more complicated squares 😖😖. I know if anyone can me through it you can. From worried in uk lol! Love your tutorials as always 💖💖
Don't be worried! If you've managed to frog it and it worked out, that's just fine :) You might have missed working into some slip stitches (if I made mine too small I couldn't see them, would forget about them, and then skipped over them and then wondered why my math was off!). The next one is a real switch up, but don't worry, I'll take you through it step by step ;)
Hi Mary! We have August AND September up...October is coming soon :) You can find August here: ua-cam.com/video/GvbXVMsg2yk/v-deo.html and September here: ua-cam.com/video/4XkJOcx5tgM/v-deo.html
Jayda you're a genius! I didn't appreciate this math work last year when I was a newbie crocheter, but I get it now! How do you come up with these patterns? Lots of trial and error?
Okayyyyy, starting this lovely July square right now lol. Will tag you on Insta when done Jayda. Thank you again. This rug is certainly going to be a master piece at the end. Are you planning on a few rows as an edge when finished Jayda or leaving as is with white row? ✖️✖️
Jayda InStitches Yes it's gone so quickly. When you're an adult the years seem to fly past in a whisker lol. Sounds lovely re the border/frame Jayda, can't wait! Ohhhh yes I can, cause that means it'll be December 😭😳😊😉
Hi Urshala, the link for the sun applique tutorials is in the description box :) The sun tutorial we did has a little face on it, but you don't have to add the face if you don't want to :) Thank you for watching!
Jayda, this is really awesome! Would you maybe consider deigning a birthday square that would fit in this? So we can put that for a month - or for someones big birthday for example?
I can’t seem to do the ball. On my second colour I seem to end up with less stitches than you. Don’t know what I’m doing wrong? This has happened on every attempt I do. Does it matter that I’m using dk wool?
Hi Carrianne, the size of your yarn won't effect your stitch count, if you're coming up short on stitches on the second colour, just be sure to count as you go and check to make sure you have the right stitch count on your first (middle) piece too. If you're short 1 or 2 sts every time, then you can cheat in a couple in the very middle of the first row and that should put you back to rights :)
Hi! You can find links to the rest of the squares in this 2017 Calendar Blanket series in the description box...and yes, it's going to be a nice big blanket when we're done!
GOOD MORNING BEAUTIFUL LADY HAVE A QUESTION MAKING THESE SQUARES A TOTAL OF 8 FOR BABY BLANKET, CAN I ADD MORE ROWS OF THE BOARDER TO MAKE THEM LARGER WILL THAT WORK . THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME
Hi Lily, you can see all of our videos (we have LOTS of them) by clicking on my username (this will take you to our channel homepage) and then you can click on the Videos tab near the top. Then you can check out all the crochet tutorials we've done :) Thank you for watching!
Hi Eleanor, it could be your stitches were a little tight which will make them a little smaller in places, make sure you're using the Treble crochet stitches where required because they really help to give it the round shape. But don't fret, a lot of shaping can be fixed when we block our projects. If you want to block your square before you add it to your blanket, you can do that, and you might find it helps pull it back into a square shape :)
Hi! We're up to September now! You can find the whole playlist if you head to the channel homepage (just click on my name) and then select the Playlists tab near the top, you'll find it there :)

hello dear Jayda... My name is Ratna Im from Indonesia... this is awesome...I really like to follow u tutorial... thanks ;)
Hi Ratna, greetings from Canada! Thank you for watching :)
Very jolly presenter, lovely items. Well explained. Just concerned by the very short ends and sewing in in a single direction. I make blankets for children, they have to withstand a lot of wash and wear, these short ends will come undone in no time.
Hi! If you're using a slippery yarn, be sure to leave longer ends (and weave them back and forth at least 3 times). :)
enjoyed this video!! will have to try it!!
I am so behind 2months. This is so cute
Angela Prescott I just caught up yesterday, I knew Jayda would be putting up July, but not this quick lol! Gives me time to tackle the beach ball. Sure you'll catch up soon 😀😀
** giggle!!!**
Don't worry Angela, you've got 6 months still to catch up ;) LOL
Love it !!!
Very nice Jayda!

Thank you Arlene :) !! I love anything that reminds me of the beach!
Thank you Jayda. My sun applicate came out with 9 sun flares and I dont know why 😂😂😂😂. It look good tho
+Milenia Martínez Hi Milenia, that's how many flares you're supposed to have 😊 Awesome!
You are a genious.
Can you show to convert tbis square in to a blanket please?
HI Stacey, thank you for watching and for the suggestion :)
thats so cool
Hola Jayda, me encantan tus tutoriales, he hecho varios, además q me eres muy simpática y entretenida . sigue así y no cambies nunca ¡¡¡¡¡¡
Thank you Deyanira!! :)
Hi Jayda, no pressure - when is the August square coming out? So amped! I so look forward to the beginning of each month :)
Hi Desseree, hopefully this weekend! Once we iron out some technical difficulties LOL
You can share photos with us on Instagram, Twitter, Etsy and Pinterest (we're at Jayda InStitches in all 4 locations!) Just be sure to tag us so we are sure to see it :)
awesome thanks!
Hi again, i love this square. Do you have a tutorial for a smaller beach ball that i can use as an appliqué. Thanks so much🙂🥰🙂
I'm attempting the very same. Hope it works. Jayda's principle should work. I'm reducing the middle treble to one only
R Zap thanks, let me know how you make out
Thank you for this video :)
Do you have a pattern for the American flag square that is in the background? (I am considering making this blanket to enter in the county fair & use as a backdrop display in my craft booths😊
Hi Lisa, yes we do, it's a written pattern in our Etsy shop: jaydainstitches.etsy.com
Hi Jayda thank you very much for tutorial. I do not know what I am doing wrong but I have done two squares now as I can't for the life of me work out what I keep doing wrong! I followed the tutorial step by step but at the end of the third colour of ball it has gone wrong. I have undone both attempts and still do the same! très jolie
Merci! :)
Hi. Love this blanket! Have you posted August square yet?
Thank you :) It's a real team effort!!
Okayyyyy, starting this lovely July square right now lol. Will tag you on Insta when done Jayda. Thank you again. This rug is certainly going to be a master piece at the end. Are you planning on a few rows as an edge when finished Jayda or leaving as is with white row? ✖️✖️
Hi Lynne! I can't believe we're halfway through 2017 already!! We have a border planned :) Nothing like a nice frame to finish things off :)
Jayda InStitches Yes it's gone so quickly. When you're an adult the years seem to fly past in a whisker lol. Sounds lovely re the border/frame Jayda, can't wait! Ohhhh yes I can, cause that means it'll be December 😭😳😊😉
Can the beach ball be made into an applique to add to a blanket?
Hi Carolyn, yes! You can make the Beach Ball as is and use it as an applique :)
I 💖 your work. I'm not finding the quite little sun?
Hi Urshala, the link for the sun applique tutorials is in the description box :) The sun tutorial we did has a little face on it, but you don't have to add the face if you don't want to :) Thank you for watching!
Love this!!! Is the August one out yet?
Hi Maria, yes it is! You'll find it on our channel homepage :) Just click on my name to take you there!
Jayda InStitches thank you. I've subscribed and will go look
Jayda, this is really awesome! Would you maybe consider deigning a birthday square that would fit in this? So we can put that for a month - or for someones big birthday for example?
Hi! Thank you for the suggestion and for watching :)
StrawberryFairy19 ohhh I like that idea, like a cake with a single candle in the centre 😊
Jayda InStitche
DazzleMeeCrochet Aussie Lynne exactly!
StrawberryFairy19 I like that idea. You can place the birthday cake on the month corresponding with the recipients birthday..
So do you use it to make a blanket?!
Hi! You can find links to the rest of the squares in this 2017 Calendar Blanket series in the description box...and yes, it's going to be a nice big blanket when we're done!
Jayda InStitches oh ok! It's such a cute idea!!
GOOD MORNING BEAUTIFUL LADY HAVE A QUESTION MAKING THESE SQUARES A TOTAL OF 8 FOR BABY BLANKET, CAN I ADD MORE ROWS OF THE BOARDER TO MAKE THEM LARGER WILL THAT WORK . THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME
Hi Lety, you can certainly repeat the last row of shell pattern to make the squares larger :) Thank you for watching!
Hi I am new to your channel.
Q: How much do sell Crochet?
Q: Have you see or know about a elephant border?
Thanks.
Hi Lily, you can see all of our videos (we have LOTS of them) by clicking on my username (this will take you to our channel homepage) and then you can click on the Videos tab near the top. Then you can check out all the crochet tutorials we've done :) Thank you for watching!
My beach ball came out oval not round so it threw my whole square off. Any ideas what I did wrong???
Hi Eleanor, it could be your stitches were a little tight which will make them a little smaller in places, make sure you're using the Treble crochet stitches where required because they really help to give it the round shape. But don't fret, a lot of shaping can be fixed when we block our projects. If you want to block your square before you add it to your blanket, you can do that, and you might find it helps pull it back into a square shape :)
Lots crochet stitches 10 left of it
Can I made my beach ball aboriginal flag colour it’s black yellow and red or Walsh flag colour dark green and red and white
I can't find all of them can you please help

Hi! We're up to September now! You can find the whole playlist if you head to the channel homepage (just click on my name) and then select the Playlists tab near the top, you'll find it there :)
