In this video we're snowboarding the longest double black diamond in Alaska.
Just went snowboarding for the first time ever yesterday. Your videos gave me the motivation I needed. Thank you ❤️
Yeww!
How was it
@@shooooooter I woke up very sore, but I am determined to learn 😁🤞🏼. I loved it.
@@karlanavarro4858 Haha get used to that! I always wake up really sore after a day of boarding! It feels great tho
@@karlanavarro4858 after your first couple months it is SO FUN
Coming from someone who lives in Alaska and has shredded alyeska, this video has been SUPER fun to watch!!
Go do Heli with CPG, that are based at the hotel next to Alyeska. Truely be the day of your life.... Been and done it twice. insane...
Dude, the way this was filmed I could tell you let your buddy go first and show you the way. That to me is real snowboarding having fun, knowing your limits etc. Excellent job on this video really has me thirsty for a run.
Alyeska is so much fun I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm on my 6th year snowboarding and have been down Christmas chute a couple times, I can tell you that its a lot steeper than it looks like in any video you can find.
I hit Christmas Chute a week ago and boy is that crazy! Way steeper then it looks
Alyeska is a blast on pow day, spent most my days hiking hatchers pass though
Fellow NORTH CAROLINIAN and I never thought about going to Alaska until now. Just finished my first official snowboarding season technically second
So good to see Bo and you vibing out there just plowing snow !
Just got back tonight from a two week stay up there with fam. 2 feet of fresh powder was laid down on the Saturday (5th of March). Sunday was absolutely epic at Arcitc valley. Glad you made it up there!
Alyeska has been my home resort my whole life and I credit it for my love of skiing
So dope to see you at my resort! Love that you loved it.
Love the content. I just did my first uphill hike and u inspired me to do it
You got lucky. best snow year, in years.
Epic showcase of my home resort! Well done! Glad you guys got some good snow
Thanks Brady! Incredible place!
Great video, as usual, and even noticing some nice edit, amazing B rolls, we see you. Keep it up!
Loved Alyeska.....
Yessir! Anchorage in the house! Welcome, welcome!
Thank you! Alaska was a dream!
Incredible! Stunning scenery ❤️
High traverse always delivers, most out of staters usually pass that up glad you hit it.
Its good to see Bo back in the Crew!... Japow! or Alaspow!
Always good times riding with Bo!
Such a sick video love Alaska you guys killed it!
We love alyeska, got the kids lessons for Christmas the past couple years, they learned a lot on that mountain.
Sick content Kevin. Keep shredding to the top. Maybe the best snowboarding channel that feels organic and not overproduced. I'm glad to have worked and partied with you back in the mid 2000s. Scope your lines well and keep your spine in tact as I'm repairing mine to get back into shape. I burst my L5 with L1-L4 fractures and 3x pelvic bone fractures on Blackcomb Jan 7. I'm walking now and my balance/strength is getting better each day of physio. My doctors and physiotherapist have all told me I'm more than lucky and will ski again next season. When I return to Blackcomb next season I'm hosting at RMU if you want some beers with laughs and a party of good people. Jono.
Hey Johnathan! Thanks for checking out the videos brother! Those were the days in Whistler! What are you up to now?
I burst my T3 and L2 at the end of the 2019 season. I had to go through 2 major surgeries and now have a spinal fusion. I got back into snowboarding last year and im back to doing gnarly Colorado double blacks this season. I stay out of the park now but I consider myself a better snowboarder than I was before. You will get there, I got really lucky to not have major nerve damage or paralysis and it sounds like you did too. Just make sure to work out as much as you can this summer because that's the time you will be able to strengthen your spine the most.
@ Jonathan Christie get well soon bro
The amount of fresh foam my GOD ❄️🤤
Very cool video. Alaska looks so nice
This is guaranteed going to be an amazing vid
Hope you liked it Damjan!
Yooo
Was just at Alyeska. Woulda loved to have bumped into you there. Love ur vids bro.
Incredible video. Nice angles
They say in a good day you could see the Northern lights when night riding at Alyeska!
Wow that looks like such a fun run
I live in Alaska, and can’t wait to go to alyeska this year!
Sick riding love the vids
Can’t wait to watch
Alaska amazing traces on powder! Good runs ! Bravooo
Moving there in a week! So stoaked to see this vid!
Sick man! Good luck with the move!
@@SnowboardProCamp thanks man! Hopefully I’ll see you and the crew on the hill one day.
6:15 Lifegoals..
no way! I just got to Juneau. only gonna be riding at eaglecrest but ive heard good things!
Sick!!! I’ll be there in January 24
I love your videos keep up the good work
Thank you!
I honestly thought that he was going to Canada but I realized it was Alaska
This is on my bucket list of things to snowboard. Right behind sand dunes in egypt
because of this ill put this one on my bucket list
Nice! Alaska is an experience!
Me too. He sold it to me.
So sick!
Yoooo talk about a leg burner lol
My legs were on fire after this!
Hey. I dont mean to sound rude. But as someone who grew up in girdwood and works full time as a lift operator. Im a little sad i didnt see lolos, spiderbite, gear jammer, and the actual longest double black diamond run. Northwest passage. Christmas chute is not the longest double black. Its sadly not even close to the hardest chute on this mountain. Im sure you guys could have asked tj while you were in the tram or any of the lift operators at the base of chair 6. Hope you guys come visit our mountain again though. Great videography though.
I think most of those were closed the days we were there. Will have to make the trip back and ride the actual longest!
When you guys come back. Lets talk. Me and my friends can give you a tour of the mountain. Possibly including the mountain shacks that are built into some of the runs. We can party it up alyeska style. Also i am addicted to your videography levels so i feel like if you teamed up with our lift ops you could make a vid on the real style of alyeska.
Possibly next year though because we are slowly going through the melt
sigh.. i need to leave the ice coast
I have family in Palmer, not too far from Anchorage and they keep telling me how much i need to fly up there to ride Alyeska. This video made me get online to keep looking for a plane ticket
check forecast and try to hit it on a proper pow day, will be worth the last minute booking!
Nice Alan! If you can swing it check out the Chugach powder guides as well!
love when creators come to alaska
I was going to say that about Japan, then I saw the pine trees. Looks fun. I want to know how it compares to Switzerland, I've been there once, and to the rest of the world...
Grew up riding Aly still do now
Sick. Makes me want to visit Alaska
Alaska is really Beautiful !!!!!!
Dude I’m here in alaska and I wish I had run into y’all! If you need someone to show you around let me know!! Sick vid!
super cool
I miss the videos with TJ, Chris, and Andreas.
so cool!
My home mountain!
I'll be there in 2.5 weeks. STOKED.
Wow I never knew Alaska had such huge mountains, looks like a cross between Europe and Japan! So sick!
Yeah, I was surprised! Some serious mountains!
Tallest mountain (Denali) in North America is about 5 hours north of where Kevin was boarding.
I board at alyeska almost every weekend. Not been brave enough to do Christmas Chute.
I’m so bummed I didn’t know u we’re gonna be here I would have came and did with u
Makes mac, charlie, dennis, and dee's run that much more impressive
How many days did you plan to stay? One spot or other resorts as well?
Awsome soooooooooooo sick
i live in alaska and i was just at elyeska and i did skiing and went down the top
My brain is telling me I am able to do this but my body is telling me that i also can while I subconsciously know I can’t
Could you go over your GoPro settings for snowboarding please 🙏🏻
looks like a powder version of some NZ resorts
Similar for sure!
Watching this missing snowboarding season :(
7:27 so beautiful i love our planet ❤✌😊
Great runs as always! May I ask how does transporting your snowboard with you for the flight work? Do you need to pay a lot extra for it?
Depends on the airline… for southwest it counts as a free checked bag and that’s what I always fly. Other airlines that don’t offer free bags, you just pay the regular fee (as far as I know)
Normally counted as standard check in bag
Very Brave to start out the day on a run like that ;)
Can You tell me your GoPro setting? Do you use max lens mod?
gotta love alyeska's northface
Do you have the Indy Pass?
Cool😎
Amazing content! What is best month to visit Alyeska?
skin on skin
@@Patches_Idk what?
you wouldnt get it.@@winteronmymind3016
whats that gadget at the start of the video?
Do you plan on going to arctic valley or hilltop while your here?
Not this trip. Would you recommend those spots for next time?
I lived in Alaska for the last 3 years before moving to Texas. Alyeska is awesome. Hilltop is okay. It’s good for beginner/intermediate snowboarders.
@@SnowboardProCamp Hilltop is just a local mountain for anchorage and just for beginners. Arctic Valley on the other hand is pretty great. Similar to Alyeska northface but more lowkey, just a huge tow rope all the way to the top
@@SnowboardProCamp don't bother with hilltop, but arctic valley is steep and about 1000 foot higher up then Alyeska if it's in the budget a heli from Chugach powder guides is way worth it. I have been skiing AK since the 70s and will be hitting soon we already have a little snow and its mid-October!
Great clip guys! What are your thoughts on the terrain overall at Alyeska for an advanced snowboarder going with an intermediate skier? Is there enough intermediate terrain at the resort? Also, how often are the upper hike-to areas closed in your experience? Thanks in advance!
Alyeska is really hit or miss. Close to half the terrain can be closed on a low/unstable snow year. But when Alyeska is good it’s unlike anywhere in North America. You wouldn’t get the hype of the resort as an intermediate though. Insanely steep high risk lines is what makes the place world class. Also it can get absolutely dumped on lol
3:15 I'd when the video starts
What was everyone riding?
I hit my furst black dimond run at 13 not much to bost about just thout it was cool
You've lived in Canada all your life, how have you never seen a moose before?!
north face should sponsor that run and get a logo up there
Its always said that if you can ride everything alyeska has to offer you can ride anywhere, what do you guys think?
What part of Alaska is that?
About 40mins west of Anchorage
When are you back in Tahoe?
Not sure! Will let you know when I’m coming back!
@@SnowboardProCamp sounds good! Been watching you for years need to ride with you once
Can I take my skibike there?
home slope 🏠
Alyeska?!
Yes! Have you been?
@@SnowboardProCamp many times! My birthdays around slushcup time so I go often.
Need to get back up there I’m turning into a fat dad! Thanks for the motivation
what was that thing you strapped around your chest?
Beacon!
music was a bit too intense there lol
MY TOXIC TRAIT IS THINKGING I CAN DO THAT
Same
Крута
What's the device @2:06?
Avalanche transceiver/beacon
Me and my gf would love to ride with you kevin!
I love skiing I just started but I hate the fact they don’t just .send it.
How long was that double black diamond? What about Lenin and Marx at Big Sky? Those are double blacks and crazy long! Some of my all time favorite runs.
From the top of Christmas Chute is 2,500’ vert, with the bottom 1,000’ being just single black. Although, that’s an Alaskan black, so still steeper than most places double blacks.
That’s not even near the longest or steepest chute let alone run at Alyeska.
@@sterling7313 its the longest that usually opened and longest Thats consistently at least a 1.5 black diamond
Wheres Jill?
