Flyin' Brian has replaced most everything on the boat more than a few times in all these years and miles, especially those d@mn impellers. There's a saying that you learn things by "spending time on the water", the man knows his craft and exudes confidence and calm. The perfect Captain. Wishing the crew best of luck with their new adventures and baby on the way - :-)
I also admire bryans calm approach as captain, not just in this vid but others as well. What is his background/trade that enables him to fix these problems?
His college degree was in electrical engineering (which has helped tremendously), then he was a software coder, both of which require a very logical mind. As I remember it, he got a job early on doing electrical work on boats, which would have yielded a depth of additional experience.
I LOVE ALL THE PLACES YOU GO, BUT HOW YOU ALL WORK TOGETHER, TO SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS AS A GREAT TEAM TO GET IT DONE. THANK YOU ALL FOR SHARING TOGETHER AS ONE.
Old salty sailor taught me once to add dish soap in the impeller housing and before you attach the discharge hose to pour water in to prime the pump action. Seeing the soap over the side at your discharge lets ya know ya got the thing turning and pumping. Sea friendly soap of course. Learned a new trick that day and I've never stop learning new stuff at sea. Thanks for sharing your "how to's" guys..I really like those episodes.
I was taught the same, its the same issue with bearings, those first few moments of use, heat, and friction matter to the longevity of the part. Good initial lube is important, dish soap and water help lubricate the impeller until the water starts flowing, keeping it from heating up, and they heat up quick without water!
I think I'm suffering from Delosis when I caught myself enjoying to watch Capt'n Bryawn's repair skills on mid-ocean just as much as the underwater videos and drone footage. You guys have a magical touch on editing. Seriously awesome music during the fixing of the air lock! I love Blue's contribution "that's how they make their money... seals" :D
Nice editing Brian. Delos videos are the best SV on UA-cam. You have a highly skilled team and you seem to know how to tell the story with the perfect balance of talking and cinematography.
Bryan never ceases to amaze me with his knowledge and abilities. My man can fix about anything and figure things out. Love this channel! You guys always have great content that I look forward to every week!
Mr Brian is a great and true boat captain, I enjoyed the way he deals with adversities at sea especially when something breaks and he can fix it with he's bare hand . Great video
I love that the video is a lot longer than 15 minutes! And I totally missed Brian’s narration ! His voice is so soothing. Kazaa I’m in total agreement about being stressed over the drone! I stress just watching! Lol
Words escape me to communicate the overwhelming exhilaration this weeks episode provided. True Delos style has returned and I LOVE every second of it.💙 Thrilled you've returned. Brotherly love 🤟
I can't believe I just sat through that entire impeller repair. Captivating because I know I may be forced to one day do the same. Thanks for reminding my brain of the bearing replacement and the air purge afterward.
All I can say is I love you guys. I'm a sailor in Destin FL.......a shity one but still a sailor lmao and I can't stop watching y'all vids happy sailing .... Life is ment to be lived and y'all are doing it 💓💓💓😊😊😊
You guys are pretty inspiring. My wife and I have always had boats, some small, some medium size and that’s about it. I had A aortic aneurysm rupture a few months ago and we have decided life is too short. We’re trading our 30 footer up to a 45 or 50 foot cruiser and taking off to the Caribbean after hurricane season. Thanks for the inspiration.
As much as I have loved the story of the crew all these years, this particular episode reflects very well on your love of SV Delos, herself. Your editing - and the much appreciated drone footage effort - really puts her in great light. For me, a classic SV Delos, surely - as it has the essence of the entire experience. If you love this episode too, and haven't yet done so, start from the beginning and watch in order. When you get back here, you might know better what I'm ranting about. Well done, SV Delos crew, and shall she long sail free!
Such a great vid this week @svdelos. It was amazing to meet you all and to sail on SV Delos. The entire Precision Sails Team is looking forward to working with you and hearing your review of the sail cloth as you sail through the Caribbean.
Always love your videos. Bryan's drone footage was great. Love watching the dolphins welcoming Delos to anchorage. Sending my love to all and wishing you always safe sails.
Delos is BACK back :) Absolutely everything from the days of old was present in this episode. The filming, narrating, editing and especially the drone shots. Delos is so beautiful, and your Canadian sail makers are just bloody awesome. Their sails have turned Delos into aerodynamic sleek beast. Gratz Kazza and Brian on becoming parents, a new adventure awaits. I cannot wait to see that one unwind ............here??? Love you guys, you are the best by far :)
F*@king AWESOME! Thanks guys for the great ep, and congratulations Kazza and Capt Brain on the family extension (super excited for you guys and enjoy the time in Sweden). You guys rock!
You probably don't spend much time reading these comments but I enjoy these videos immensely for the obvious reasons and less obvious. I never spent any time on a sailboat don't know anything about sailing however I spent 18 years in the Navy. I'm very impressed at the way you're able to fix common problems with your prime mover and the fact that you always have spare parts. It's quite obvious that you've learned over the years that being prepared for anything is the way to go. Anchors away my friends! VP-26 Tridents
Hey Scott, actually we spend quite a bit of time reading the comments :) Thanks so so much for watching and wishing you all the best and thank you for your service. Fair winds- Brian

Hey Scott, actually we spend quite a bit of time reading the comments :) Thanks so so much for watching and wishing you all the best and thank you for your service. Fair winds- Brian
The new format and film editing style of this video has an 8mm film flavor, and is complimented by the raw, less edited close up view of Delos. I like it! I like it a lot!
nice update! A small tip for the amazing drone flying, to ensure good signal quality keep those antennas pointed flat side to the drone, not to the ground. You guys rock! Greetings from Greece
The "leaving friends" parts remind of the best parts of the film Captain Ron. I am certain that Blue is correct. You will be welcome around the world forever.
Fantastic episode! Great flow! Love the integration of the boat repairs heading into the dolphin visitation. Looking forward to the beautiful location of your next episode!
On my Perkins 4-236 I had a sea water flow alarm after the raw water filter. i highly recommend it for your operations. Some are adjustable. I also had a 205 F overtemp switch instead of 225. I also had a temp gauge. I set out to cross to the Bahamas one night and the alarm went off. There was a cluster of Sargasso weed seeds stuck in the intake of the sea water filter. Cheap protection.
I am back because you guys are back! This is the best video of this season... Good Title... Good Content... Good Editing... This video is back to “old” Delos Style... The correct opening music... Good mix of content subjects... 30 minute video... Bravo!
Bryan, I am always amazed at the calm ,cool, it happened ,let's get it fixed approch you have when something breaks on the boat. It is no wonder your crew can be so at ease. You don't swear a little bit and jump up and down, then cut that portion out do you? Just kidding but can at least send you a hammer? Congratulations to you and Karin. Congratulations to Brady and Blue also for their taking Delos on their own voyage. Wishing you all sunny days, full moon nights, and smooth waters.
Great episode guys and gals! I liked every topic you covered. As to the underwater volcano problem, I realized that one of your favorite things can help explain the problem. That thing is BEER. In a big enough glass try floating a tiny model boat on the "head" (aka foam). Unless it is light as a feather the tiny boat will sink. Besides that I'm glad you got your motor running again. Seems like that rubber impeller has failed at least 4-5 times over the years - from what I remember. Somebody could make some money inventing a better system.
I am sorry but I get it. Do you perhaps have a hammer on board? I am hardly one to criticize. I moved a SV from Gig Harbor to LA. Shame on me as I did not check the tool kit until I needed it. ALL METRIC and the boat was ALL STANDARD. My bad
Blue really outdid herself filming this one. Having a bit of sailing experience myself I know that fixing/dealing with stuff is what it is all about and her questions and interest in the events really showed she knew what was important to film. I love it when your stuff breaks because it may make my life easier some day. Thanks for sharing Delos!
I’ve been a mechanic most of my adult life and Brian’s fixes are very impressive for a guy without that type of work in his back ground. (I’m assuming) Good job buddy! Love the videos and the positive energy in them. Keep it up.
Guys, today`s video is very interesting. The journey has both the bright Nature side and the dark manmade tech side. I love both. Dad always used to say:`` always watch how she spurts through her nose``. Brady was right in that life growsinside the cooling intake pipes, specially in warm waters. I would dismantle and clean pipes frequently. What a joy to have your explanations about sails. Priceless. I know you have a new lady to look after, captain Breeyawn, but keep a close eye on your old Delos while away. She needs you just as much.
Absolutely love the cowboy hat Mr Brady!! Lool❤👍⛵🌊🕶 that's awesome precision sails gave you those sails to test. Its great for them and great for you guys. It's the way it should be.
That's the 4 th impeller I've watched you replace . You replaced 2 within about a month sometime around Africa . You demonstrated the blade turn direction then also . Did you clean the sea strainer this time ? Kazza said she was taking a dump aka dropping a duce . Always remember , never take it , always leave it ! LoL Thanks for sharing 😎
zzzx xzzz these women are just nasty on here. Talking trash all the time about pussy and taking a dump . I guess these guys like breastless women to cause none of them have any !! lol 😂 🤪🤪
Jack of all trades. Very humble person down to earth I would love to sail with this Crew, it's one of my frist bucket list of things to do before I fade away. Great friends make great memories to last a life time.
Growing up in the West Indies I would always recommend "Don`t Stop The Carnival" to newcomers who wanted to a simulate it is a great story but sooo true.
This is the first time I got to see the impeller in action , that's a lot of movement ,like that of tire tread, for a part. May want to try something with less friction ,as the earlier comment about electric water pump. I see you changing this part on a routine basis. Nice to see the crew tweak the new sails. Very interesting topic about the Kick 'em Jenny. Had to watch some other video about it. Droning in the dingy looked cool and got some great shots of Delos crashing over the waves.
Brocken impeller, my first experience on our new, used sailing vessel. A little bit dramatic, just on the river Rhein with no wind and a draft of 3 knots surrounded by high traffic … Since this time my father always get stressed using the machine. Always impressed by Your skills and coolness, Brian!
What do I love best about your intro? To me, there is nothing on the water prettier than a twin-masted ketch in full sails. Hoping you don't ever decide (though I see the allure) to make a switch to a modern cat. There is something so elegant about a mono that just can't be had with a catamaran...although a crying baby in the early morning hours might make separate hulls desirable. haha You guys rock harder than all the other sailing channels combined!
A couple years ago my family and I went sailing in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and our southernmost stop was Tobago Cays, the Island at the end of the video was one that we had anchored by and we had lunch right where you did. I remember climbing that slanted palm tree and I bet you had a visit from an Iguana or two while there. It's insane to see an island that you thought you would never see again on your channel!
Having replaced impellers at sea before Capt Bryan has so much more patience than me. I have never watched a more calm level headed Capt. than Bryan.
Yeah he would be fun to sail with he is so calm no matter what happens.
Flyin' Brian has replaced most everything on the boat more than a few times in all these years and miles, especially those d@mn impellers. Yup. Very cool laid back guy.

You know every other sailing UA-cam channel is in the Caribbean, right? I can't wait till you guys get back to the unbeaten path.

I wish Bryan was my dad. Greatest guy, best energy ever.
Who's you're Daddy 😎
Watching Brian fix stuff might be my favorite part of most episodes
Yeah me too... brian is verry nice people karin also... delos🙂
Come here in philippines again... after covid.. ..god bless guys always take care
The drone and bow videos were really nice! The various perspectives helps viewers get to know SV Delos much better.
Bryan never ceases to amaze me with his knowledge and abilities. My man can fix about anything and figure things out. Love this channel! You guys always have great content that I look forward to every week!
Loved sitting on the roller furler while the boat porpoised through the water. Such a great ride. Thanks for the memories.
Mr Brian is a great and true boat captain, I enjoyed the way he deals with adversities at sea especially when something breaks and he can fix it with he's bare hand . Great video

Sail looks really awesome!!!
Beautiful design good job precision
Always love your videos. Bryan's drone footage was great. Love watching the dolphins welcoming Delos to anchorage. Sending my love to all and wishing you always safe sails.
love when brady works on the boat. So mechanically iknowledgeable about the boat. Rock on !!!

Beautiful shots of Delos with that drone footage!
Congrats on the lil bundle of joy that's on its way. Safe sailing!!
Real sailing, real Delos. Good job guys!
F*@king AWESOME! Thanks guys for the great ep, and congratulations Kazza and Capt Brain on the family extension (super excited for you guys and enjoy the time in Sweden). You guys rock!
It's always really cool to see Capt. Brian troubleshoot issues and skillfully fix them. Super clever guy!

Loved the closing drone video as you arrived at the small islands.... SO BEAUTIFUL!!!
Brian dude - you are nailing the P4p exposures - no more blown out sails... bunch of thumbs up :-)

Brought back memories when you held up, "Don't stop the carnival" That book was on the NYT best sellers list back in the 1960's. Loved it.
Really N1CE looking sails there, and the Drone shots of it are spectacular 😎👍✅ 13:06
this was a classic SVD episode and I loved it. Man o man.
Loved the closing sunset footage! Also, thanks Brian for including the raw water pump repair.
Oh my goodness! Sailing with dolphins never gets old, does it?? 💕 ✌🏼
Brian, bloody mechanical genius!
How to describe this episode. "It's good to be home again" best one in a while. Thanks
The "leaving friends" parts remind of the best parts of the film Captain Ron. I am certain that Blue is correct. You will be welcome around the world forever.
This is one of the best shows...just love these sailing programs with wonderful sv delos Love from Denmark - god vind.
“You da man Bryan”👍🏻😘!!!! Happy Easter guys!!! 🐰🐣🥕🌷🌱
Congratulations on the baby. He or she will have wonderful parents.
Great video. Nice to have the parts you need to do repairs. Love the dolphins and the sunset, beautiful.

Agreed....I even skipped some of the ‘newer’ videos, they just weren’t the same. Loved this one!
Donald Keith Brown not so good of a title tho with pussy in it . The woman that said that must be pretty trashy to talk like that !!
Ladies and Gents the boat looks so fine on this day cruise.. beautiful Delos....luv it..thks a million...RG
Breeyawn and those Macgyver skills....
🤣🤣🤣🤣
much respect..
Thanks Capt. Brian for all the cool training and Sailing tips!!!

Brian knows every facet of his boat. Amazing knowledge.
Love Capt. Breeyawns editing style!
Great footage from the Fantastic Boat at top speed I Love it so mutch to see it with the eyes from Brady.
I love how in the “buy us a beer” segment at the end, the sound is of a can being opened, but bottles being “clinked”.
Great episode guys and gals! I liked every topic you covered. As to the underwater volcano problem, I realized that one of your favorite things can help explain the problem. That thing is BEER. New viewer. Well done, nothing beats the silence of wind while making way
I am sorry but I get it. Do you perhaps have a hammer on board?
I am hardly one to criticize.
I moved a SV from Gig Harbor to LA. Shame on me as I did not check the tool kit until I needed it. ALL METRIC and the boat was ALL STANDARD.

Good of the sailmakers to come aboard and give you free sails. I hope they get some sales out of those sails
They are an amazing company and go to the ends of the earth to make it happen. They can make and or suggest anything you may need.
They are sail salesmen
What a fantastic episode. Really interesting and love the editing.
Some nice shots of Delos sailing via drone. Hang in there Kaza! The stress is worth it! Thanks! :-)
Absolutely love the cowboy hat Mr Brady!! Lool❤👍⛵🌊🕶 that's awesome precision sails gave you those sails to test. Its great for them and great for you guys. It's the way it should be.
The time lapse sunset at the end....perfection!
Woooo DELOS! 😂 that was cool.....just went back to when the one guy was at the helm. He said yea I sailed a boat like this “just not as FAMOUS” 🍻
Once again congratulations to Brian and Karin may all your mommy and daddy dreams come true. : ) peace
LoL
Thanks for sharing 😎

Nice Elements of Life shirt mr Brady. 👍🏼😎
Saw that too.
Jack of all trades. Very humble person down to earth I would love to sail with this Crew, it's one of my frist bucket list of things to do before I fade away. Great friends make great memories to last a life time.
Your every vlog is an epic masterpiece, love it. Thank you.
Two video's in one day!.... feeling spoiled :) ⛵️
I know I was shocked, but very excited!
Spoiled and shocked...
Don't stop the carnival was written on and about st thomas.
Love your videos. I’ll be glad when you get closer to real time. Hope you have a safe crossing.
Nice work Bryan, straight on it as usual, Well done Captain. lovely video shots. Many Thanks :)
SV/Delos thank you for sharing another awesome video...PLUR
Water is life
Great 👍episode Delos, loved everything about it!!
Great drone shots. Really nailed the tracking orbit. I bet you backed the gains right back and kept the yaw super smooth.
Growing up in the West Indies I would always recommend "Don`t Stop The Carnival" to newcomers who wanted to a simulate it is a great story but sooo true.
Really great video. Quite an adventure.
Brian, you are the man of the Sea..love it!!
Great video. Last year I purchased a new 130 genoa for my Sailboat from Precision Sail. Great guys.
Aaaaamazing you guys are soooo talented AND prepared to fix that motor on-the-fly !! B.R.A.V.O. !! ☺️✨🏖✨⚓️✨⛵️✨
Gorgeous footage here guys. Super fluid.
Nice video. Hope yall continue to keep up all the good work on the episodes
LOVE the drone shots of Delos mixed with the footage on deck
Good Work on the Underway Water Pump Rebuild. I LOVE Spare Parts.
Congratulations Kazza and Brian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent seeing Brian Dx the over temp situation. As always a good vid
Brocken impeller, my first experience on our new, used sailing vessel. A little bit dramatic, just on the river Rhein with no wind and a draft of 3 knots surrounded by high traffic … Since this time my father always get stressed using the machine. “That moment when you switch the engine off and the sound off” Key quote from this episode 👍🏻 good to see you back in the zone we love Delos.
