In this video I go over all the specifications that make Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 such an amazing cheap, low budget lens for filmmakers. I go through what makes it so cinematic and good, like aperture, image quality, color representation and variable focal length. I'm speaking about this lens from my perspective using it with the Sony FX30 (meaning Super35mm or APS-C sensor rather than full-frame) for UA-cam videos rather than cinematic film or commercial video work, as a complement to my Sigma 18-35mm lens.
There is one problem though, the lack of continuous, quick and silent auto-focus. This made me go for the Samyang 12mm F2.0 instead which has amazing auto-focus capabilities. So is it the best lens for UA-cam and vlogging? Maybe not, but it's still an amazing lens for filmmakers and cinematographers looking for a cheap wide-angle lens.
Had such a fun filming this intro in a format inspired by @GawxArt after seeing his video "How to film like a pro". He's such a talented filmmaker and it sure takes a long time to do what he does.

I got canon 90D and this lens, and continuous autofocus works well with this lens.
Ah wow, that's too bad for me. Might be that the issue is with the Sigma converter for Sony. 😊
@@kevinkenell the problem is the mc-11, the auto focus of this adapter is only for sigma lenses

Strange? My Tokina 11-16 has autofocus, but it's not quiet, but neither is my Sigma 18-35. (Both my lenses are EF-mount, used on Canon)
It has AF but not continuous for video, are you using it for photography? ☺️
@@kevinkenell, I only make videos, autofocus work perfectly on my Canon camera, the only problem is that the autofocus is quite loud, so if I use a camera mounted microphone the noise is captured by the mic.
Hmm interesting, is it the newer version? I've never used a Canon with autofocus for video, maybe it's related to that.

Could be that it's not compatible with the Sigma MC-11 converter. What camera do you use?
