Thanks so much for all of this info! I've had IBS my whole life (I'm 65 years old). I went through the Low/no FODMAP diet for 2 months and then started adding back into my eating. Discovered I cannot eat onions [except for the green part of green onions], garlic, most all legumes, cauliflower most all breads [ I can eat Italian bread]. My IBS-D started to act up so my dr. prescribed Dicyclomine 20MG three times a day. And it is such a great help.
I am having it too first of all don't drink water while standing Avoid certain foods which triggers your symptom It's completely normal so don't be afraid and ashamed of it Check your thyroid profile test
I am a 27 year old woman, Been going through a non stop IBS D flare for 6 months now. usually I always just had IBS C, now I can't enjoy anything that has a lot of fiber in it, and besides diarrhea I also have nausea and vomiting.
When i'm on keto, my symptoms go away. Its hard to stay on during the holidays, so of course its back right now. It seems like my body tolerates it for a while eating normally, but it does catch up with me .
I'm sorry you're going through that. If you haven't already, try adding more potatoes, white rice and bananas and plain chicken to your diet and give it time.
Please try taking psyllium husk every day for ibs diarrhea before going to sleep mix one table spoon of psyllium husk thoroughly with one full glass of normal drinking water.
I've had this problem for about 7 years and the thing that seems to have fixed me after only 10 days is oil of oregano twice a day for ten days and drop all the sugar from my diet. Nothing in my cereal, coffee, no desserts and no fruit and no pasta, potatoes or breads! Seems it was actually caused by a candida overgrowth!
@@matthewfarr5742 After doing ends listening and reading, I'm thinking that my problem was likely caused by SIBO (Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth ) and apparently, a lot of things can cause it. While I'm staying away from things like broccoli and onions and a few other foods that ferment easily, I'm still eating legumes, nuts, most veggies, some fruit. And I'm eating sauerkraut and drinking kefir every day and slowly it seems to be having a better effect. This whole thing is such a pain but fortunately for me, unlike so many, I haven't experienced the pain and cramping that most seem to be dealing with. I did discover that for moments when you have to travel or whatever, Immodium helped a lot. Just kind of puts you 'right' temporarily. I think it's the sort of thing that might be different both in cause as well as effect and 'cure' for everyone. If you're dealing with it, good luck, I hope you find your magic bullet.
I just had kale and it is low fodmap, but wreaked havoc on my system 💀 IBS d for 25 years. I went to doctor told me to take more fiber felt awful. Your advice is great!
I had to do the diet, the Monash University Fodmap app helped, It's in the play store. The diet didn't work for me, but I go back to the old boiled potatoes, white rice and plain chicken, matza with only flour and water, smooth peanut butter and salt diet and drink one gatorade until I'm better. Tapioca pearls also help me, along with an old remedy of uncolored rock candy mixed in hot water. It's for extreme sitations and should take 2-3 days at most, but works for me. I wouldn't call it nutritious, but when your body is passing through all other food, what else can you do?
Thanks so much for this video, so helpful! I always thought that fibre (and the different kinds) had a role to play with IBS-D symptoms. Definitely going to explore this one more :)

I have been living with IBS-D for a long time now. I have been taking two gummy fibers a day. Can/should I take the healther's soluable fibers on top of that or in replace of? Thanks
Today is the worst the diarrhea and water diarrhea will not stop. I only ate a small spinach salad and a piece of boneless chicken and some green tea. The next morning at 6 am and up to now 12 noon, and it's still going. Had to cancel hair appt. and work for tonight. I don't know what to do. Can I eat egg substitute
This was great, I have been researching "remedies for ibs" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Mackorny Defeat IBS Blueprint - (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my colleague got excellent success with it
Dear Julie, if there's a frequent urge for elimination, the truest statement which can be made is that---short, or long---some length of the colon is red and inflamed, . . . The most likely cause redness and inflammation is acid---which is why Prilosec and other antacids are so popular with Crohn's people (at least, until many of them found out that, Prilosec imparts a tendency toward bone breakage). Acid producers are such as:. coffee, pickled fish, milk, most fruits. Blackberries---and, to some extent strawberries---cause the digestive system to react into a positive pH, and so, are acid reducers. I would say, begin with white fish, and carefully add to that.
There are a few factors in the subject. One resource I discovered which successfully combines these is the Stomach oracle omnibus (check it out on google) definately the most helpful resource i've heard of. look at the great info.
I can't answer that, but I think it depends on the person and the digestive system. With my problems, it's better to have apples without peels. My favorite part is the peel.
I stay away from fiber. I like raison bran but can handle the fiber. I don't understand how to do carbs. I gave up dairy and spicy foods years ago. been having stomach issues since I was 16 and am now 46. nothing helps. I have to take imodium almost every day. wanting to try Ibguard to see if that helps.
Just eat minced red meat. Pasta. Potatoes. And semi whole wheat bread. And cheese. Not hard cheese soft cheese I mean. And water melons. And chopped cooked tomatoes

Regardless of what the "FODMAP" man made diet says, it is difficult for me to accept that something as natural as the apple is the cause of these severe symptoms. Do you think God would really design us in a way that we could not break down fruits and vegetables which are considered to be the most vital for human development? I highly doubt anyone was born that way or else the human race would not have lasted very long. The introduction of high fructose corn syrup is what caused this epidemic...people were consuming fructose at levels never before seen in the history of man...its not the apple that caused it!
Luis the solution is not to avoid healthy foods...the solution is re-organizing your gut biome...the only way to do this is with high quality PROBIOTICS...look into them and try them for a month I can almost gaurantee you will see a difference...again fruits and veggies are not the enemies they are our best allies
I have fructose malabsorption. That means my body does not produce the enzymes that are needed to digest fructose. While I can eat small amounts of certain fruits occasionlly, eating any form of fructose is going to cause discomfort on some level and if I were to continue eating it on a regular basis it could do damage to my digestive tract.
While I respect your beliefs, it is very possible for people to not be able to eat the same things you can without experiencing discomfort, or even severe pain from it.
