Defender headlight problem? How to fix a Defender headlight issue
In this video we will show you how to replace the indicator/horn/high-beam switch of a Landrover Defender 2.4 or 2.2 TDCi Puma. If you own a TD5 or a TDi this operation is very similar.
We also explain our experience with our defender headlamp issue of switch unit and which solution we chose after this headlight failure of the switch unit.

Here's what you will need for changing the switch assembly:
1x wrench
1x 22 socket
1x permanent pen
1x WD-40 spray
1x 1/4 imperial key

About Off-Track Family:

Nous sommes une famille de 4 dont 2 enfants. Nous voyageons depuis des années sur les pistes dans notre Land Rover Defender 110.
Notre véhicule d’expédition est un Defender aménagé. Certains le décrivent plus comme un véhicule de survie mais pour nous c’est le parfait compromis d’aménagement 4x4 et tout-terrain pour le camping.
Nous avons acheté ce véhicule neuf en 2009 et sa motorisation est un TD4 2.4tdci Puma. Nous l’avons transformé jour après jour en un parfait tout terrain de camping 4x4 et il nous permet d’être autonomes lors d’un bivouac, d’un voyage 4x4 ou simplement lors d’un voyage en famille.
Nous adorons passer du temps dans la nature et explorer les pistes sauvages du monde entier en famille.

Merci pour cette video! J'ai mon def qui a perdu ses codes. Je n'ai plus que les appels de phares et veilleuses. J'ai testé de joindre les 2 fils et j'ai retrouvé mes codes. Je penche donc pour le Commodo clignotant/codes/claxon comme vous.... j'ai commandé.... je croise les doigts... :)

Merci poour votre retour d'expérience ! J'avais justement vu le kit sur paddock et je me demandais à quoi il servait. Mais du coup je suis intéréssé de savoir comment vous avez branché les longues portées Lightforce ?
Nous avons un relais de 30 ampères derrière le feu gauche. On se pique sur le phare pour l'activation du relais et une arrivée de 12volt directement de la batterie. N'hésitez pas si vous avez d'autres questions.
Great video. My switch simply doesn’t hold in brights position, could this be the same issue? Prior to this issue my workshop upgraded the halogen bulbs. Now I wonder about the amperage issue. I don’t want to use leds
Difficult to say without seeing the car but your should check with your mechanic
@@offtrackfamily I checked. The new bulbs are to spec , so much for that theory. Replacement switch on its way, let’s see if it happens again. Cheers
Mine has this fault but intermittent. Could be worth replacing the switch.
You have to test each switch before replacing. Intermittent fault are not easy to fix. You have to test it many times.
Hey where can I find the bypass for the temporary fix? Can’t find any more details
Don't exactly remember, this bypass was shared by a kind person on a fb group
