From the writer and performers behind Yonderland, Bill and Horrible Histories, Ghosts is BBC1’s post-watershed comedy. The estate of Button House is haunted by ghosts from different historical eras, but all are united by their plan to scare away the young couple who now own the property and want to turn it into a hotel.

this show was guaranteed an audience. it is an adult show but it's the sort of show that doesn't exclude teenagers. basically, not only will adults love it but so will all of the teenager who watched horrible histories when they were younger.

That's wonderful. I really enjoyed the first series - great acting, writing and all round performing from a cast I've enjoyed watching since I first sat down with my young nieces and was introduced to the delights of Horrible Histories.

I think the interviewer should get some credit here, he asks questions and then just lets them answer, he doesn't interrupt, he lets them diverge off topic and is respectful of there words.

I am constantly amazed at how different Martha looks out of character. The boys look mostly like themselves but Martha, with the help of her talent and makeup, disappears into her roles.
Love the show, and love hearing how their creative process helped it come about. Such amazing talent.
This group of people made my childhood with Horrible Histories, their chemistry is amazing! Series 1 was a barrel of laughs and I’m excited for series 2!

Laurence Rickard’s Cave man character is the best character on the entire show! Literally everything he says and does is hilarious and sometimes even genius

There is a wonderful moment where Ben and Jim smile at each other...
They remind me of the Monty Python lot. There's definitely a lot of similiarities, and one would assume that Monty Python is an inspiration to their works. I loved Horrible Histories growing up, at 21 I still love HH, and I loved Bill and I now currently love Ghosts so I hope they continue to work together and create more shows or movies in the future!
There's more depth in this groups work than in monty python and its more consistently funny than mp
as a very old man: i'm not entirely sure this stuff is made for me - but i bloody love this group and have done ever since i sat my son down in front of horrible histories! i really hope they go on, keep developing and keep the laughs going (both inside and outside the group). i shouldn't really identify anyone for special praise here - they're all superb, but ben willbond is a real favourite. i thought there was legs in my idea of having a spin-off show of 'the thick of it' with bens character (adam?) as the main protagonist. i really thought that guy was great: such a vapid, venal twat!

Jim was genuinely really nervous about this show at this point. He wasn't sleeping, I think he is the most sensitive one in the group...Martha said if it had failed, it would have been very public and humiliating...

@@Ellasnaps He looks tired and he has his Colin Hendricks hair and beard, so he may have been filming...He has talked about being really nervous about Ghosts at this point. They had put in years of work to develop this...making it a success and a project that kept them working together.

I'm an American and I just discovered Ghosts because of Charlotte Ritchie being on Taskmaster. It is BRILLIANT and I can't wait to see series 3! I also can't wait to check out Yonderland, Bill, and whatever else these actors and writers can put together. Thanks for being so good at what you do and please don't stop!!!

I love this gentle,funny,sad show.Each character is a fabulous gem and I loved getting to know each back story.It's also just reminded me how much I loved Yonderland.
I care about them all so deeply. I've followed their works for the best part of a decade. I'm glad that things are going well

This series was brilliant. It took me back to The Addams Family and Bewitched but made me laugh out loud more than those series ever did and also brought a few tears to my eye.
Reminded me of randall and Hopkirk deceased with more pathos. Pat's demise omg so sad

I did not expect Pat’s death day to make me cry, and yet...
Ben wrote that episode..He is supposed to pair with Simon, but I think Simon was writing other things..And Jim is a master at using his eyes to show so much. Simon and Ben have written the Christmas episode. I love the way Jim and Mat write for Alison and Mike

@@sam_4481 Simon seems to be the Christmas man, he wrote the Yonderland Christmas special too, which was beautiful and touching too, while being very funny. Ghosts was full of themes of loss, yarning and Christmas stress.
I love this show, I refuse to watch our Americanized version until the BBC version has run it's course... Please got Season 4 out asap!
Its actually pretty good. I binged the whole of it last week and although it's different in a lot of ways, the basic premise and some of the situations are straight from the UK version. It has it's own shape and is produced by these guys above, so I am there for it. I am looking forward to S2, can't come soon enough.

Never caught the Horrible Histories series - (wrong age!). Saw the trailer for Ghosts, thought it would be interesting. ADDICTED!! Please another series!!
I know loads of people , including me! who have watched Horrible Histories as adults! Its definitely childish but you actually learn a LOT about British history. And is really funny
Yonderland is an all rounder I think, cause ti does have nudity and adult jokes, but is also childreny with puppets and fantasy

Do yourself a huge fervour and go and watch HH. Every episode of every series (series 2 onwards they were really in their stride, the writing was sharp as a tack and it was truly excellent). Then come back and tell us how addicted you now are to HH and that you can’t watch the series any more now they’re not in it. The songs in particular are epic.

I watched it because I had kids the right age. I STILL go back and rewatch it and my kids are adults. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
I have never seen horrible histories so wasn't aware of this group but I love Ghosts, it has the ability to have you laughing out loud but then crying along with them, or maybe that's just me! Hope it continues, just watched the latest series back to back because I couldn't wait for the next episode to come around. Was really sad when Mary got "sucked off" lol.
I’d suggest giving horrible histories a watch no matter how old you are because it’s just so funny and they use songs from stormzy to the Smiths to Simon and Garfunkel and it’s fun seeing how they weave them in and change the verses to match the historical situations
You really need to watch horrible histories. I'm in my 60s and hopelessly addicted.

I think he was unwell...He does a lot of writing...and goes to LA at times. That is why he is often missing. Sometimes it is Mat who was missing in the Bill junkets or Ben that is missing. They get other work.

The only series I’ve watched that as soon as it came out on IPlayer I binge watched the whole series in one night. Five exceptional series. Was so sad when it ended 😢 Robin was such a beautiful character, but they all played a great part
