Willbond and Rickard talk about the development of the story and the shooting locations that evoked Elizabethan London, while Howick, Farnaby and Howe-Douglas discuss their roles.

These six people as a team are so spectacular. Its so interesting to hear about their process. I can't wait for them to do so much more. They can't win enough praise and awards imo.
When Jim steals Martha's water - 2:00 / 27:59
Jim: Picks up water then takes a gulp*
Martha: "Did you steal my water?"
Jim: "hum?"
Martha: "Did you steal my water?"
Jim: Counts glasses*
Martha: "Can I have my water?"
Jim: "Of course you can"
Martha: Laughs*
I think Simon starts it at the very beginning by stealing Jim's water lol

Actually it was Ben that stole Simon’s water so Simon took Jim’s and Martha didn’t have a glass, so Jim gave her his

20:35 the irony that Larry wouldn't do Bob Hale in a movie cos of 4 hours of hair and makeup, yet he's spent about 12 weeks at the beginning of every year since 2019 playing Robin the caveman in Ghosts, which involves 4 hours of makeup every morning.

@@janknuckey gutted Ghosts is now coming to an end (upcoming S5 being the final one) but they said in a September 2022 podcast, if they could get the c.£15m+ is costs to make a movie, they'd make a Ghosts movie

They did another BBC sitcom called Ghosts which is sadly ending with its upcoming 5th series which is absolutely brilliant

I really want to know what happened in the Cleopatra video because they all know and Jim knew why he mentioned it. Ben was it that video, so he knows what she said “Not Cleopatra, Jim.”
I had the same thought! He's brought it up a few times, and she's like, "no" every time.
I feel like Mat said something once about being oiled up or something early in the morning to go freeze in a quarry - I wonder if that sort of thing might be it, it could have been miserable to film.
@@flippetskater Ben has said something like that too. They usually filmed in October. In the William Wallace video, Ben’s nipples show how cold it was... bare trees and dawn light.

20:34 because every Bob Hale scene in HH is one continuous take, I feel like they'd have to make the film also at least feel like that. of course several films exist where it looks like there are no cuts, but it really would have to give you that feeling to stay true to the Bob Hale Experience™.

Ben, I prefer Bill to Shakespeare in Love anytime.....MiraMax movies are now tainted...Martha is completely safe with the five men that you are and that is so important.
A film at Miramax could have ruined their lives, certainly Martha’s and the rest as a consequence. They are five lovely men that would never hurt her and trust her to be given the lead roles

it's the scene where Walsingham talks to Molly about Catholics. he leaves by walking through a revolving part of the wall, but there appears to be a man on the toilet on the backside of the wall. it's a very funny and short gag, but absolutely worth it!

Things change lol. He said him and Martha get to the set for 5:30am for about 3 hours of makeup and the others rock up at 8:30, like 15 mins before they start filming
@@oliviadaly4795 I know its just the irony of he said no to something that would have been 6 months to a year of make up and instead has now done it 3 months for now 5 years in a row! That adds up to way more time!

@@AGJ117 They had other women for some roles... but if you start doing historical stuff, you probably realize quite quickly that there aren't that many roles for women...
