Lexus fans seeking a 3-row luxury crossover no longer need to settle for the old, compromised RX L now that the TX is here. A proper, purpose-built 3-row, the 2025 Lexus TX competes with the Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, and Lincoln Aviator, and is now in its second model year.
The Lexus TX come in either six- or seven-passenger layouts, with the latter using a second-row three-seat bench. The only mark here against the TX is that it only seats two in its third row, which is silly for an SUV this large. That said, all passengers are handsomely accommodated with spacious cupholders (they're removable in the front!) and cubbies, so the interior is well packaged overall.
One of the first things you notice about the TX 500h F Sport is how strong and confidence-inspiring the brakes feel overall, especially when considering the TX's size and heft. On the downside, we experienced a slight side-to-side shudder from the front brakes, front-end dive under hard deceleration, and a pedal that proved slightly lacking in feedback.
