  • In this video, I carefully remove the original windshield so I can reuse it. Being an A/C car, it has a special tint. I also remove the dash pad and find some paperwork for the car. The trim was already removed when I bought the car.

For a non-professional like myself, hoping to restore my 68... this series is a God Send. Haven't touched my car in a decade , and so this series is helpful beyond my words to express. Wish I lived way closer to Jo Daddy than Buffalo

Man that was in there stuck pretty good..
I wished you could have showed how to remove the stainless trim around the window area, there's probably a few followers that might have liked that. Good stuff !!

Great tips on classic Mustangs! I am starting on a 67 Mustang coupe and was feeling a little over my head with this classic even though I have been restoring and wrenching for over 10 years mainly on newer vehicles. I have watched many of your Mustang how to videos and you have already help me in more ways than one. Classic Mustangs definitely have their differences from what I am used to. Thank you very much for taking the time to share your years of experience. I hope you are able to make enough extra money on you tube so that you can do this full time. You are one of the good ones and you deserve it! Your patience and integrity is admirable. Can I borrow some? LOL!

Barry when the windshield pooped loose you had a concerned look and I am think taking all the windshields you took out before you have had at least one broke on you in the past. Great video and the attention to show all the steps and explain all the details what makes your videos the best!

I have had a windshield break before. But I had help. Maybe I'll talk about it on Thursday.

Hang on to the original dash pad just in case! A repro dash pad might be nightmare to install. I look forward to seeing that episode and your opinion of them. I was lucky and able to reuse my original pad.

That green hat looks good. Looks like I'll be taking my windshield out soon. Thanks

i never knew the factory AC dash duct was like that.. that's pretty cool. i don't think you'll be able to adapt it to the vintage air setup though. it comes with its own vents that'll use the round flex hose. it'd be nice if they used something like that to join them to clean up under the dash. my under dash is packed with the 4 flex hoses for all the vents.. my pedal assembly, wiring and other mods don't make it easy to fit everything..

My GF's 68 coup I think is gulf stream aqua. It's a faded aqua color, very pretty, but hers was repainted that color and has a vinyl top

I used a tool to remove mine that worked well. Got it from Amazon. Gearwrench window molding remover-2038D. Hope it’s as useful for you as it was me. Good luck

Whoa. That dash panel had some major "separation anxiety" issues. I need to do this on my Mustang eventually. My dashpad is still intact but warped like this one. I removed the back glass the same way, by cutting the gasket around the glass. I believe those self-threading nuts in the dash panels are called Pal nuts. They dig into plastic and pot metal with quite the authority and can be a real pain to remove.

Wished you would’ve shown if possible the removal of the windshield trim, I always seem to kink or dimple it when tryin to remove

Do you have any tips or tricks for full cowl replacement? My 68 cowl is shot but the firewall is still in good shape. I enjoy the videos for sure. Motivates me to get finishing mine.

I have several videos on the cowls. Check the playlist for the light blue mustang and the Brooklyn pony.

My dash pad came out without the screws by the front pinch weld edge, or any glue to the dash. But I know mine was off before because the VIN tag was under the dash.

My dad has the same wheel ramps in his garage on the wall. Were they standard issue back in the day or what? Haha

the nails around the windshield are also for holding on the trim. don’t know if you stated that or not 👍

These are different. Actual nails for the old top. The trim posts are there too.

The trim posts are actually welded to the car. The nails are driven in at random.
