Any car that doesnt have to be half disassembled to get to bulbs are welcome :) Great vid as always
The 2013-2015 Crosstrek use a phillips 12276c1 bulb which DO NOT twist. They pinch and pull. If you try to twist it, you will end up standing on your head trying to see with a mirror, cursing profusely with your hands nearly bleeding like I did. Appreciate the video. If you could correct the title it might save somebody a big headache.
Oh no! Sorry about that, but I do appreciate the correction. Hope it worked out okay for you. Made the change already
@@Explorer-pj1nx Yeah. It worked out ok. I thought it was just resisting twisting because the plastic was old and stiff. Fortunately, there wasn't room to get my channel locks on it. 😆 Once I opened the new bulb, it was immediately obvious what I was doing wrong.
Its all a learning process! Good on you for not forcing it and breaking anything. I am happy with how consistent Subaru *usually* is, but it seems like this is just something they changed in between generations!
apparently some of the 2016s also... I just pulled mine and it is clearly the pinch and pull type. Mine was manufactured 05/16. Visually Check before you buy new bulbs, my friends
10/10 video
Why doesn’t anyone ever show how to do the most difficult part of the replacement? In this case, it’s getting the pull tabs out so you can get to the bulb.
Good job. Thank you for the tutorial
Thank you! Super helpful
amateur… at 3:19 you spilled all your blinker fluid 😂 (jk I learned a lot thx bro)
NOOO dont expose me like that!!!! Lol I'm glad it was helpful tho cheers
Just changed it in our 2018 Crosstrek Limited. If anyone was wondering, the bulb is an H16. Don't install an H11. An H11 might get too hot and start melting the plastic.
Nice! Thank-you.
Did you remember to replace all the fog light fluid you leaked out?
I ended up swapping the rubber gasket from the old bulb to the new bulb I bought And then it finally went in all the way so the ears would catch.
Right on!
2017 Forester, the light works as a brake light but not as a running light, any ideas please?
What kind of bulb did you get? It likely is not the right type of bulb
Why twist plug and bulb together?
the bulb you installed literally says H11 on it. why do you have H16 in the description?
H11 and h16 have the same connector/plug.
Usually h16 bulbs are used on many cars for foglights because they have less power (19 or 35 Watts) instead of H11 which are usually used in headlights lowbeams with more power (55W).
Having said that, you can use h11 with no problem specially when upgrading to LED because Even with more light output than a standard hallogen H11 they usually consume less power (20-30W) so they are actually a better option.
Hope this helps.
H8-H9-H11 and H16 all share the same socket and plug connector and can be used.
H9 usually is used for high beams (65W) for example.
Hope this helps!
That's what I was going to say 😂
@@pedropabloj thanks for clarifying broseph

The bulbs in the package at the beginning are labeled H16 but the bulbs that he installs in the car say H11. What happened to the H16's? The H16 are the correct bulbs for this vehicle.
My man just leaked out all the blinker fluid....
I forgot to change it 😭😭😭 literally broken now
