Thanks for watching vlog fam, & sorry for some of the shaky camera work! Embarrassing bedroom clean out vlog is coming at ya soon, so make sure you're subscribed to catch that one. Also - would you be interested in watching an "un-making over my childhood bedroom" video? Let me know below! 👇
I'd love that!! Tho any content is appreciated!
Absolutely. And will you be helping your parents stage the house for selling? If so that would make great and relevant content. Love your channel. 👏❤️🇨🇦
Yessss! I was just about to ask for those videos!
As soon as you said your favorite colors were pink and brown, I knew what year you were talking about!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Rip Chocolate. 😅
Absolutely
Your childhood house is like the ones in old Disney channel movies 😮😮🥺
FR
the outfits at 13 years old definitely looks like Hilary Duff, Hannah Montana, and disney show. dress. It was a cute idea Pink and Brown idea comes from tissue box. :-)
Your house looks like it would the house that everyone goes to to take photos on the stairs before a school dance haha
that is a massive house. like, friggin' huge. I can't imagine having grown up there, dang. I just felt nostalgic for your childhood lol
My mom made me paint over and clean out my room as soon as I left for university but it was basically bright lime green so who can blame her
Yeah they definitely always keep my door shut so the pink glow doesn’t illuminate the hallway lol
@@TheSorryLife will you repaint the room for sale?
My bathroom at my moms house is still a terrible highlighter teal blue. Every time I go there I wonder why she let me paint it that color 😅
Same! I had to box up my stuff while I was finishing school. When I came back from university the first Christmas my room was a “guest room” ...... good job I know my parents love me! 😜
My childhood bedroom is like green screen green and I still stay there when I come back to visit my parents. My dad surprised me when I was on a trip to BC with a friend for spring break. I wanted like green and brown earthy stuff with white but as a teenager it became green walls with white furniture I was stuck with and black everything else. Its still like that... Honestly its not bad and I still love the color but if he moves, slime green walls might not be appealing.
Kelsey, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep that vanity table in your closet. It's too cool. It would look so dope in your new place.
Pink and brown colour scheme 😂it was honestly so cool back then!
Brown+pink, brown+turquoise, brown+lime green, we thought we were so stylish 🤣
Kelsey: sliding down the stairs on the handrail
Me: running up the stairs on all fours
same energy 😂😂
Making over a room now: "Let's go to Pinterest and make a mood board"
Kelsey, making over her room then: "That tissue box is LIT. Imma do that"
Holy crap your childhood home is so nice. Definitely a house for the rich... a bigger curved staircase and theatre room it is the dream
I grew up in a house similar to this one. By today's standards it's completely out of reach, but if Kelsey's parents bought this around the same time as mine (late 80s/early 90s) it would have cost
@@shannonm2558 definitely more than that. My parents house in the middle of nowhere and half the size was 120 back in 93ish.
That was my reaction, too 🤗
Good grief, your room is a 2000's time capsule! My own mems came flooding back of the design of that era ('91 baby here). The green glass, clashing stripes and yes, the scarf with EVERYTHING but also with those short-strap under arm handbags?! It. was. a. time.
Omg the purses with all the giant circle sequins on them 😳
Am I the only one who wants to see Kelsey cleaning out her room???
Nope, not at all!
she did :-) new vlog is up
At least for me, in California, we dont have basements so its fascinating to see how basements are made livable and used as an additional floor that isnt just a giant storage room.
really? I'm in WA and all the houses I've lived in have all had finished basements!
Right. Growing up in Southern California, I never saw a single house with a basement. As a kid, I remember going on vacation to the Midwest, where my cousins lived in houses with basements. I found them creepy and scary (obviously they were not "finished") and could not figure out why anyone would want to have one.
Kelsey: so I based my room off of a tissue box
me: oh, okay, you chose your color scheme...from a tissue box
Kelsey: shows striped wall
me: oh wow
Why do americans think it's 'based off of'? It's 'based on'!
@@cyclenora we just have different ways of talking and they're both correct :)
@@ediemathison8213 well Edie, they're not, actually 😘 www.grammarbook.com/blog/pronouns/based-off-is-off-base/
@@cyclenorachill man
My parents surprised me with a bedroom makeover when I came back from summer camp the summer I turned 13. The walls were lavender and radioactive turquoise based on an American Girl Doll brand bedspread. Oh man I was STOKED.
"i literally strip screws for a living" is so funny and relatable being a carpenter aghjgs
Immediate after "why is this shelf coming off the wall, weird" Gee I wonder why?
I was just transported back in time when you said your favorite colors were pink + brown... a time of limited too (did canadians have that?), those monkey shirts/bags/everything, GAUCHOS!! omg. Thank you for resurfacing the memories Kels lol
Wait until the bedroom cleanout OMG
The neopolitan colour scheme was real strong in 2006 hahaha
I was into magenta and turquoise hard core
stop it literally that exact outfit is the very first thing that came to mind hahah just soo bad
@@jaimiedolan3852 it was so strong it became my wedding colors after someone told me to switch from blue and silver to it in 2007
you need to keep grandma's makeup table. it is soo cute. by the way not much embrassing , back then it was cool! waiting to ee next chapter
HAHAHA PINK AND BROWN
why is nobody talking about the lobsters in the pool?? lol
I need details
Kelsey walking in to interrupt her sister's movie and then calling her weird for watching a movie during the day... Such older sibling vibes.
you save the old costumes for your kids to play dress up...or donate them to a thrift shop so someone else's kids can play dress up in them.
THAT DOUBLE COAT CLOSET IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my gosh. Basing things off of a Kleenex box - such a childhood mood
those two bathrooms really put your current bathroom in context haha
I had to watch the part where the cat starts boxing Kelsey’s hand multiple times It was too funny
You’re room is the ultimate 2000’s preteen, groovy girl, room ahahaha LOVE IT
“My whole family was standing here..and I slid down the banaster..and fell and fractured my elbow..”
(shows us how)
I love Kelsey so much 😂❤️
Another Canadian girl here, and I 100% remember having that Kleenex box when I was younger too, what a vibe lol
Thank you for sharing this with us! I started to get emotional during the pool scenes because they were giving me flashbacks of how I felt when our family sold our old home. Snippets of childhood, like the pool videos, start flooding the mind going into every space. Loved this video, TSL!
That vanity that was Your Great Grandmother's is gorgeous .I had one that I got from my Grandmother and someone broke into my house and stole it ,I wish I still had it so much .I think your stories from childhood r adorable and really shows how design was already a factor in your life and it looks alot like the bedroom I had when I was a kid too ,love it .
Always be grateful for the things you have. I grew up in a 3 room house with no plumbing. Me and my siblings shared the main room which also was used at the living room and kitchen. My parents had their own room and there was a working bathroom until the water pump cracked because of the cold winters. "Cozy" would be the noun used. I dreamed of a "regular" house. Now I'm in a one bedroom apt in LA with running water. Super grateful.
oh GIRL do I feel that blue/pink/green/brown vibe. Painted stripes on my friend's wall in those colours as a kid. My bedroom in my childhood home is still those colours but like HOT pink and NEON green.
My parents never let me paint my room with the whole "because we're gonna sell it one day!" argument. And low & behold I'm 37 now and they're still living there!!! I really wanted a dusty rose coloured room.. lol
What a beautiful home to grow up in! You were very 🍀 lucky. Almost teared up with you at the end. The memories you made there will last a lifetime. 💕❤️💕
What a lovely home, it's definitely nostalgic to go back and now it won't be there in future. You have such kind parents and they reared two special girls. I'm looking forward to the clearout video! I have granddaughters your age and enjoyed doing decor stuff with them. 😊🇨🇦
There are two vanity heights that are used: the standard kitchen cabinet height and the shorter one. The shorter one was made so it was more comfortable for kids to use which is why it was in the upstairs bathroom that wasn’t the master (because kids are the main users of that bathroom)
I loved sliding down the Baninstairs too! (Until I broke my arm haha)
Oh wow, the giant Gateway style computer in the bedroom is bringing back memories. I spent many a night chatting away on AIM on mine. I can't believe we had computers that huge lmao. Kids these days have NO appreciation for how small and slim everything is hahaha.
I have never lived in a Disney movie house. But I grew up in the 50's, and shared a room with my sisters. Its quite a house. Now you have moved on to your own wonderful house.
I love all of the antiques like the formal dining room set (my grandma had one and all that's left of it is the hutch which I have now) and the vanity in your closet is amazing I hope that you keep it!! Some of the color schemes remind me of my house as I was growing up my parents redid every room in our house every couple years and nothing is the same as it used to be.
I wanted to say a lot of things, but everything was blocked in my brain when i saw the racoon bihide Kelsey in the illustration at the end of the video

So cool you came to PEI! That’s where I’m from!
Damn. You had a theater, stairs, a playroom and your own rooms?! 🤭 Growing up, we had shared rooms and sheets tacked to the ceiling for room dividers or “walls”.🥲
Omg the picture of you sitting on the big lobster statue when you were talking about PEI, that statue is in Shediac, NB which is wear I spent a big part of my summers at my grandparents house on the beach ☺️. Brought back fond memories!!!! ❤️ We went to PEI almost every summer since it was just a hop across the bridge from my grandparents 🙂
My parents just sold their house over this past summer. I thought that I had cleaned out my room when I left but oh no there was still plenty for me to deal with 😂
You were so lucky to grow up in such a beautiful home :)
PLEASE keep that vanity! It would be so cute in your basement landing / dressing room area! Sure, maybe it needs some feet on it to be tall enough for an actual adult, but think how fun it would be to refinish! And such a great family heirloom.
OMG your vanity is identical to the one that was my Gram’s and now mine. I luckily also have her bed and dresser. It’s from the 1940s and I cringe whenever I see people paint it. I think it’s called waterfall furniture.
Omg Kelsey... I had to beg my mom to paint my room, and I chose the exact same colours as you did! Something about fuchsia pink and apple green was totally a 2000s thing ;)
Not to be nosey but to be nosey, how much is that house on the market for? Its super nice!
Probably over million, easily
In Toronto houses like that are 1.5 mil minimum
@@giannag8897 her parents didnt live in toronto
We’re selling our daughters’ childhood home and moving into a smaller house that is more like a cottage! In fact, we call it “The Cottage!”
Both our daughters were upset at first but they’ve accepted it and are excited about our new house.
We’ll be using some of what I’ve learned from you and Becky as we change things in our new home.
I feel like this house would have been on mtv cribs kids back in the day
Love this - - your great tribute to a wonderful home!
Your childhood bedroom totally brings back mems of mine. If you sub out the brown with purple but keep the rest of the colors that was what my room was like. Must have been trendy colors. Lol 🤍
You have done such amazing work even back then 😅
I am currently watching sooooo many reno, decor, diy videos bcause I moved to a bigger place (I am in looove 🥰), but it needs to feels more like home so I need inspiration 😅😊❤️
Oh-weeee this is a nice house! And huuuuuge! Thanks for taking us along Kelsey 🤗 I love blurple!
I loved this video and i love to have the opportunity to learn a bit more about yourself and your life. Love it ! Thanks Kelsey
Wow your room + your goofy video clips w friends in the pool really brought me back!! Being a preteen in the early 2000s was a time!!
Not Canadian but always wanted to go to PEI because of Anne of Green Gables 😂
SAME
Highly recommend! it’s the best!!
funny, whenever momma
would "allow" us to repaint
our bedroom, she would
say, what color paint? and
we would tell her blue, okay,
blue it is, and she ALWAYS
came back with the color
mint green!! i can honestly
say, there is no mint green
in my house now!! lol but
what memories of a time gone
bye. She was something else!!
God bless
OMG i was also obsessed with pink and brown (+ teal). I look back and I'm like wow, that was soo much. Loved this tour!
That 2000s upstairs bathroom is everything!
One of the coolest video ideas I’ve ever seen and I’ve watched A LOT of UA-cam (it’s the only social media I use)
This was really cute! Thanks for the tour💕
damn yo. seeing this makes me feel less bad for not having my own home as a thirty yr old cuz this was not my life at all!!!!
Certainly wasn't mine, either ! 🤗
Wasn’t mine either and I bought a home at 25 :)
Wow, hopefully you also filmed the cleaning out/packing up of the room, I love that kind of videos
you know, I actually kind of like the room (youre bedroom). I wouldn't want it in my own home!! But I could really see it work as a set for a teenage room on a tv show! It's the perfect room for a cool teenage girl (like Carly on ICarly). I do think it overall really works together! You can see that you have a talent for this. Choosing such strong colors and still make it work!
This was so fun! I grew up in Texas so in the summer we LIVED in the pool. So much fun!
I love this kind of videos and i love you girls so much 💕
I grew up in a garage but I love would have loved to have a room like yours!
Holy crap, nice house! I grew up in smack dab middle class Mississauga lol our houses were mediorcre. This house reminds me of a childhood friends house that I absolutely adored!
My fave colours at 15 were brown and baby blue lol
That double-sided closet from the mudroom to the front door is so weird, yet AMAZING! I want it haha
One of those life passages. The memories will visit your dreams!
That dressing table! Love!!
I Loved the tour and the pics...so loved vlog.
Ahh this is some quality content! Thoroughly enjoyed the video :) Also I for sure need a closet that opens from two sides now, haha!
So relatable! So 90’s!! I LOVE IT! Go 90’s babies!! 😍😍😍😊
I was 14 and had the same color scheme in my childhood bedroom. Alllllll the brown and blues, pinks, and stripes. So timeless.
Kelsey, I have the exact same dresser/mirror set and have been trying to figure out the best way to revamp it. Would love to see you make it over and get some ideas for myself!!
I chose a teal and brown room as a teen. What. A. Vibe.
Anyone else hear the eye emoji in her voice when she talked about what they would do in the Theater room? Must have been a dream room for dates ayyyyy
The end card for this vid is * chef's kiss* ❤🐾
This vlog was precious ❤️😭
I had the half purple and half pink bedroom with a Barbie border when I was a kid.. such a vibe
Okay but how is that the PERFECT 2000s girls room though? Like tween me would have LOVED that.
Please appreciate how lucky you and your sister were to have a 'childhood home'. Not all of us were so fortunate - living in multiple homes (attending multiple schools) is the case for many, never having allowed us to settle and form strong memories. Fun video ! Stay safe and best wishes from Australia 🤗🌻
ooooh i wish we got to see you clean it out! love a good FF clean out vid
sooo much fun to watch
So fun! More please.
That striped wall sent me down memory lane! I had a VERY SIMILAR wall, I shared the bedroom with my sister and we decided to makeover and got a striped wall in green, pink and white, it was hideous 🤣
LOVE a thursday sorry vid!
I’ll go back to PEI with you. I’m from a small town in Nevada and I’ve been there. I loved it. I still have family there.
Such a Main character house
Oh my god I was obsessed with teal and brown that's such a throwback memory
My parents also just moved out of my childhood home and I had to pack up the lavender bedroom I’ve had since I was 13. Definitely bittersweet.
Also I am SCREAMING at the cat edit in the pool. That was fantastic.
oh, yeah, my parents house also have a circle stairs, and I loved going up/down the railing outside (!) and doing crazy stuff like that lol
Loved this! Very nice home. Sad to see it go
Kelsey your bedroom gave me BIIIG Groovy Girl vibes.
My colours were Purple, Teal, and Brown. Thats some cool flashback stuff.
Haha my teenage bedroom had white walls with a bright turquoise accent wall, and all the textiles (rug, bed linen, duvet cover, curtains etc) was that bright turquoise and brown!
