In this video, I explain the 7 health benefits of sea kelp in addition to thyroid support. High-quality sea kelp that’s grown in a clean ocean is highly beneficial for your thyroid, which needs the iodine in kelp to make its hormones.
These are the 7 health benefits of the iodine in sea kelp:
1. Helps balance estrogen. If a woman is estrogen dominant she may develop ovarian cysts or fibrocystic breasts.
2. Enhances your IQ (your cognitive performance), especially in a growing child. If you’re pregnant, take sea kelp to reduce the chance of the baby’s brain being smaller. Iodine can also enhance your growth in general.
3. Contains ten times more calcium than milk. We all know the problems with milk from a commercial dairy, with added hormones and the low quality of food that cows eat.
4. Sea kelp has many more nutrients such as magnesium, potassium, iron, zinc, vitamin C, and B vitamins
5. Contains the phytochemical fucoidan, which has powerful anti-cancer properties. It’s an antioxidant and has anti-inflammatory properties too.
6. Contains vanadium, a trace mineral that helps control your blood sugars and address insulin resistance. (Sea kelp contains all trace minerals, but iodine seems to be the most concentrated.)
7. Contains amino acids, although a fairly small amount so you’d have to consume large quantities to reap the benefits. Just be aware there are amino acids in seaweed.
Iodine concentrates iodine up to 30,000 times so you don’t need to take a lot of it. Take it in the morning not before bed because it can actually give you too much energy and disrupt your sleep.
To summarize, sea kelp contains vitamins, minerals, trace minerals, and amino acids, making it a very beneficial ocean vegetable.

Sea kelp is chock full of vitamins, minerals, and trace minerals that provide health benefits in addition to thyroid support.
I had ovarian cysts an year ago due to PCOD. The size of the cyst was 8cm on the right ovary. I took Dr. Berg’s sea kelp supplement, one capsule a day for 3 months while also doing Keto and Intermittent fasting of 18 hours each day. My cyst totally disappeared in the third month. Thank yo so much Dr.Berg. I just can’t thank you enough. I dream of a day when I can meet you personally. I just hope my wish comes true.

I hated my 'hippy' parent's food, but now appreciate the deep wisdom of a whole food plant based diet.

I eat Korean birthday soup made with kelp and beef for about 5 days before my period starts. It really helps moderate my PMS symptoms (fatigue, mood swings, craving sweets, bloating). It keeps me full, lean, energized, and banishes mood swings and cravings for sweets.
Plus, it's very yummy and nourishing.
I started taking it a week ago because the Keto Diet wasn’t working too good. I’ve now lost 4 pounds in 1 week 😍
My hair grows EXTREMELY fast when I take sea kelp !
Why would anyone want that
@@hitlard5305 some people end up with a bad hair cut and want it to grow faster
Splendid! I will go to the oriental store to buy some kelp!
Me too my eyebrows are growing as well
Like the movie with Stephen King after he touches the meteor?
Yup. I had hard lumpy breasts in my 40s to where mammography didn't really allow a good view. Digital was upcoming around that time, but I knew mammography stress was not for me no matter how much the doctors pushed for it. Also, my mom had breast cancer in her 50s. So, I did a lot of research! I discovered iodine was very necessary for our breasts and started taking bladderwrack. I didn't want the strong Lugols form; I wanted to try the natural plant form which in my mind makes sense same as getting minerals from plants which we assimilate well. I also make chicken seaweed soup often. Soon after I started taking bladderwrack and DIM, my breasts became soft and healthy same as when I was in my 20s. Now in my late 50s, my breasts are still like in my 20s. It's like a secret that shouldn't be. It's difficult to choke down the fear the health community cloaks over us so they can pay for their expensive research and machines (and I do not blame the doctors since we are all products of THE higher ups), but the natural alternative is always worth trying. This is where wonderful and brave doctor advocates like Dr. Berg comes in. But we still have to use our own brains because we all think and behave differently, and what we think and believe - our belief system - matters very much on how we affect ourselves. I gotta say, like a miracle, I got this one right.
You star. Wonderful news and great advice.
So my question is do u go for yearly mammograms?
What is bladderwrack where can u buy this? How much DIM did u take?
@lucy lu it's in the sea kelp I believe. I don't think she does mammograms , she just uses and believes in this.
@@lucylu9792 sorry I missed this question. No mammograms for me anymore.

Thank you so much Dr.Berg. Love all your videos and product. I just purchased a 3 pack sea kelp. I wonder how many capsules should I take in the morning. I do take multi vitamins from New Chapters which also has a little iodine in it. Would they conflict each other or too much together? My TSH 3.7, and I noticed eating iodine rich food has been making a great impact on my energy level. That’s how I found your Sea Kelp. Any feedback would be appreciated 🙏
Excellent..as a Vegan this is great info. Please do more of these.
Still vegan?
We do take kelp once in a while. Now it will be all the time and we'll toss the other supplements since it's all in the kelp and that's more natural. Thank you!

I use nori for a replacement to tortilla to make a salad wrap. Much like a sushi but with no rice
Dr. Berg, Could you possibly do a video on the SEA MOSS craze? That would be great!
Great video and what if I do OMAD and it's in the evening? .how I'll take the sea kelp ?? Recommended in the morning in this video.
I have always believed that one of the reasons why Japanese live so long is because they eat a lot of seaweed very frequently. However, seaweed is also considered quite “cold” in Chinese medicine. So, people we are cold-natured (I am one) can’t handle it everyday, and or they’ll need to eat something warming to balance it out.
That's probably why they eat miso soup or a bowl of soup with every meal or hot tea.
Thank you
I'm addicted to your videos ❤
Hey Dr please can you explain if sea kelp is the same or different from sweet kelp? LOVE YOUR WORK XXX Bless you 🙏
Hi Dr. Berg Is sea kelp affect my fasting while taking in the morning?
Thank u God bless
I love him and he has changed my life!!!!!!!! Thank goodness Dr. Berg I thank you so much and am very great full 😘❤ I love ur wife too.
Every summer when I get inspired to trim my waist and tighten up I instinctively buy a bag of dried kelp. Not those processed kelp chips but raw dried kelp. I always get good results with fat loss. It’s not a miracle but it’s not far off from a miracle. It’s not gonna work in 2 days but I always start seeing results after a week. I don’t even diet or do cardio. I just simply eat some kelp every day and bam after a few weeks my stomach is lean
How do you prepare the kelp before eating it?
Hi Ryan,
May I ask which brand of raw kelp do you use and how much per day you take from it ?
Also, when do you take the kelp during the day and in relation to meals (i.e. on empty stomach or sprinkled on food, morning, noon or evening?) ?
Thank you
Can you give any suggestions on what a "little bit" equates to?
How long does it take to reverse insulin resistance?
We need a video about sea moss ❤
What form of sea kelp should we get? Not sure if we should take it in a pill supplement. Thank you!

Dr. Berg, I just received a bottle of your Sea Kelp yesterday and need to know if your Sea Kelp also has the selenium that I need for Hashimotos. It wasn't on the label and you don't mention it in this video. Thank you for all the good you do.
Thank you for this information. When should you take it, before or after your thyroid pill? And how long after?
iodine is best taken in the morning.....if you want to sleep well at night.....
@@houndjog Thank you. I take my thyroid pill at 8 am. Was just wondering when the other should be taken, or spaced out from the thyroid pill?
I've taken some sea kelp supplements in the afternoons and I still can't sleep it's very powerful very strong in a good way but definitely take it after breakfast
Cool, I put Aonori dried seaweed on my Ramen Shiritaki noodles, you can mix it with Chilli powder & Seasame seeds & make Shichimi. Yum. We take Kelp tabs to. Even our dog has seaweed chews, it's great for their teeth. Thanks for sharing this important information with us all, take care & Happy Sunday to you. ❤🙂🐶

So I started taking this at the beginning of the week (it’s now Thursday night) after watching one of your other videos about cold feet. I have always had cold feet and hands, I’m not sure if it can happen this quickly, but they haven’t been cold once. Usually my hands would be freezing for an hour after being in the freezer, but they’ve been fine. Thank you :)
I've just started them today for cold hands and feet and other functions I'm hoping to improve.. How are you doing now?

Here bc I ate a ton of sheets of nori and started takin iodine drops coincidentally about two weeks before my period and leading up to it. I have virtually no pain while my last one had me bed ridden and throwing up nonstop for hours. Apparently I was iodine deficient last time.

How you feeling?
How is your hypothyroid condition now? I just bought it today. I will take it tomorrow morning.
@@jenstorychannel5251 how did it workout for you?
How much is optimal, Dr. Berg? That's pretty important!
Maybe it depends on the person's health? Also if you look online - so many forms of sea kelp sold - from tablets to the "original whole food". So i guess the nutrients and dosage will depend on the brand and type of product you get?
I would suggest doing some research - sea kelp is eaten in "original form" in some countries around the world. I can think of norway , iceland, japan, taiwan, china - japan is famous for longetivity and healthy diet. So maybe do some research and start with "small doses". Also in rare cases - i think some people have allergy to sea kelp - but its rare.
