I love the Disturbed version of The Sound of Silence - it has a darker feeling that the Simon and Garfunkel original. The music video is brilliant and really matches the tone of the Disturbed cover. Here I am playing my arrangement of Disturbed The Sound of Silence at St Pancras Train Station. You can see it was the day that I met Jay who I had a jam with earlier that day! That was an absolute joy to watch. I love seeing people get "in the zone" with their passions. It's so exquisitely beautiful and a privilege to witness.
I remember when this song was first released and I have heard many versions since then. This is wonderful and captures the spirit that was intended by the writers. Amazing rendition.
Oh, dear me, I have goosebumps. You are incredibly talented, young man. I can feel the emotional intensity through your playing. Please, do not ever stop playing.😮
Cole, you just broke my heart wide open as did Simon and Garfunkel did when they first released The Sound of Silence. It is just as true now as it has always been. Thanks Cole and team, love you.
Cole, your rendition of “The Sound of Silence” is amazing! Your musicality of the performance is awesome! Also, on a personal note, your hair in this style fashion looks very good on you. This style is a keeper.
Cole, dude! That was simply brilliant and passionate. I think one of the greatest that has flowed from that genius and gifted mind of yours right to the fingers on your hands. Thank you for what you do. That one touched me deeply. Cheers!
What a great, emotional music cover to listen to after a tiring day. I can connect to the internet! Awesome cole! Thanks for uploading. Nice seeing jay too. Got to watch again... 😊
I didn't immediately comment on this one because yesterday when this posted, our area was under threat of severe weather, several people were killed (by the grace of God my area was not touched), but now that it's past, let me just say, while, of course I've heard you cover SOS before, I thought this was your best one yet. As always, as Frank Sanatra would say, "you did your way", powerfully, emotionally and masterfully, i.e., with the Cole Lam touch. The fact that I was a true S&G fan probably helped too, anyway, aa,Lyb,ssah❤️❤️❤️👑of🎹👏👏👏
You are amazing. I'm so glad I subscribed about 2 years ago. I'm always looking forward to you next post. I've played the cello for 20 years. I'm trying to teach myself the piano via UA-cam starter videos. One day, I will be as good as you are. Much respect to you.
EXCELLENT COLE, Thank you. This reminds me of your post on UA-cam, playing "Sound of Silence" in 2019 at St. Pancras. it wasn't quite the "Disturbed" version. Some ladies stopped to listen and when you had finished one of them asked your age and she was amazed that you were just 12 at the time. You do have videos of you playing this in the "Disturbed" version which as you say is a darker version of the Simon and Garfunkel classic but this version still does have that Cole Lam arrangement which makes it even different again. Smashing !!
Absolutely amazing! I was watching this via Google news and I had to switch to UA-cam so I could make a comment. You're an incredibly talented pianist - a prodigy. Please keep making these videos.
Well done, the Simon and Garfunkel version was a favorite of a friend of mine. That friend passed away in September of last year and his father passed away yesterday so as is needless to say your playing of this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you.
My dad passed away 4 weeks ago. And he loved S & G. He had good taste in music. He played this song and many of their other songs on tape when we traversed Ireland visiting relatives but this was his favourite😥. Thank you Cole.
Intense, bravo Cole! Love that Disturbed version, too. Try to sing it?? Could be 'growly' like David Draiman! Another awesome cover video is Dave Mathews Band doing All along the Watchtower... epic!
this song, got me threw a lot of my life growing up, as i was told by people i'm related to, to not speak. even now that i'm older, they still tell me not to speak, unless some ones talking to me. thats very old school and i hate it, they claim its respectful, i don't believe them because their rude when they say it. i often find myself thinking about, the neon lights lyric and get the image of a glowing symbol, like the ones used in casinos. who else out there, was raised this way? i ask, because i don't want to be alone with this.
I was always told to speak my mind but in a respectful way. Thise who told you not to speak unless someone speaks to you are the ones being disrespectful
Someday these people behind running for some unknown destinations in life without even pausing for a minute of their life to hear this will have to pay in 6 figures to get your tickets 😂 .... Fact !!❤
That’s me‼️ Living in the sound of silence‼️🥲 I wish it on nobody… except the most evil of serial killers‼️ Thank you for the beauty of your piano excellence‼️Amazing‼️ Bless U‼️❤

I didn’t even know there’s a disturbed version, but your playing brought tears to my eyes.
I heard the Disturbed version. I'm 3 times your age so prefer the original but Disturbed does put more into the song.
No one can do it better than Disturbed
Such a beautiful rendition!!
I thought it was just me.
Mr. Lam
Your rendition of Sounds of Silence, is so powerful! Bravo!
Going to see Disturbed in concert on August 10th, what an epic tribute to the legendary band. did them proud.

If this is Disturbed, then "pleasent" must be out of this world! Fantastic! The energy just builds and becomes more intense! Bravo!
I love your "disturbed" version too-- the dissonance that dances with the melody is amazing. Love it.
And the beat goes on…..passerby, like death, no one notices, this IS life, stop listen…thank you for all your years of practice and service Cole
No time to listen. Walking with their sound of silence. 😢
I see you have found a way to reach the people. A public platform is the way to go for this.

My era of music, thanks for this Cole. S & G were two of the finest musicians I've ever heard. The music was simple and pure, and unforgettable.

Someday these people behind running for some unknown destinations in life without even pausing for a minute of their life to hear this will have to pay in 6 figures to get your tickets 😂 .... Fact !!❤
