Gotta ask since I started doing invasions again: Have invaders ever been able to use the whistle? I just noticed that it was disabled the other day while dealing with a player camping in the church bell tower on Rubble and Ruin. Has it always been disabled? Same question regarding VoIP/Proximity Chat. Have invaders ever been able to communicate with the Host?
They've changed so much since release that I'm not sure. The whistle probably was usable at release as the Invaders had pretty much everything Karl did apart from focus mode (multiple grenades, special ammo, etc) but that got nerfed pretty quickly as they stacked the invasion mode in Karl's favour because apparently the devs could see that Karl was losing most of the time. I don't know about VoIP chat though, I've only had one interaction where an Invader attempted to communicate and it was in the form of text chat after one of my first invasion kills. I never responded as I didn't know which key to press and not had it happen since. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a feature initially, though. The Invader used to be able to hear Karl's 'useful' vocal observations, after all... got a few kills due to that!
@@duckwit85 I remember those days but never really paid attention to the nuances of the radial menu back then. The narration was very broken and definitely swung the rounds in favor of the invader. It’s just annoying that the invader isn’t able to communicate in any way anymore aside from inviting the host to a party or sending a message via PS/XB. I couldn’t find anything online about the communication changes they made to invasion mode. Thanks for the response!
This was a few months ago. I have many more now, but editing, playing other game modes, other games, and real life takes a lot of time up so I only get to play Axis Invasion a couple of times a week if I'm lucky. Impressive tally, keep it going!
