MENTAL TURBO SLEEPER VAN RIPS THE STREETS! VW CADDY S3 SWAP

The third generation of Volkswagen Caddy debuted at the end of 2003, at the RAI Commercial Vehicle Show in Amsterdam.
The Typ 2K shares 50% of its modules with the Volkswagen Golf Mk5 and Volkswagen Touran. The new model Caddy has a more aerodynamic design, the angle of the windscreen and A pillar is more horizontal, making the dashboard bigger and the bonnet (hood) smaller.
There are two body sizes: "normal" and Maxi. These can both be configured as a Panel Van, a Window Panel Van, Kombi (spartan passenger version), Caddy Life (family version), and a Camping version called the Caddy Tramper or Caddy Life Camper.
The Caddy Panel grew in size over the Caddy Typ 9K, it measures in length 4,405 mm (173.4 in), width 1,802 mm (70.9 in), height 1,833 mm (72.2 in), wheelbase 2,682 mm (105.6 in), has a 750 kg (1,653 lb) payload, and a loading volume of 3.2 m3. The current shape Typ 2K Caddy, on sale in Europe since 2003, is a leisure activity vehicle with Volkswagen Golf Mk5 front suspension.
It resembles the compact MPV Touran, and is assembled at the Poznań factory in Poland. In May 2007, British Gas signed a landmark deal which saw 1,000 vans being supplied to the firm, which were fitted with a bespoke racking system and a speed limiter, designed by Siemens.[15] The deal was renewed in September 2015.[16]
A Caddy Life or Kombi seats up to five in two rows while a Caddy Life Maxi or Kombi Maxi seats up to seven in three rows. The Life version has interior trimmings like that of a conventional five seater wagon while the Kombi is a naked panel van with windows and seats. The difference in road noise between the two is described by some as substantial.
The Caddy Life, a seven-seat passenger oriented People Mover, debuted at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. It comes with twin sliding doors and a 608 kg (1,340 lb) payload.
Caddy Life has a flexible seating system. The two rear bench seat rows can be taken out of the vehicle altogether to give the vehicle 2850 litres of cargo room; in addition, the Caddy Life has a 1,500 kg (3,307 lb) towing capacity.[citation needed]
In 2005, a Special Edition Caddy Life Colour Concept with two distinctive colours, Red Spice and Ravenna Blue, was released with upholstery fabrics, floor mats and a variety of other elements on the dash panel in the same colour as the exterior body, and a leather trimmed steering wheel, gear and handbrake lever.
Debuting at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles presented the Caddy Maxi Life the people mover version of the Maxi range. The Caddy Maxi range carried over all of the Caddy engine and debuted the 2.0L TDI engine producing 103 kW (138 hp; 140 PS).[18]
The Caddy Maxi family is 470 mm (19 in) longer version of the Caddy with 4.2 m3 loading space, this is due to extensions of the wheelbase which measures 3,002 mm (118.2 in) an extended, rear overhang now 151 mm (5.9 in), plus the growth between the sliding doors and the rear axle now at 319 mm (12.6 in).

I've always loved the uploads but this is 110% my cup of tea. I've worked in a VW van specialist body shop for 14 years. This thing is beyond sick to the point I may do a ticket buy! Either way...Once my VW T4 VR6 sleeper is finished with the goal of 420hp, I'll put in an application for some John action!😉

450bhp on a K04-064? No, I’m afraid not 😂 You’d do well getting a reliable 450 out of a hybrid on a CDL. But a stock K04 isn’t blowing much past 380 and a load of hot air at 2 bar!

exactly that and if its not a cdl and its an axx or a bwa it will never do 450 without a piston leaving the chat. and he claims it revs to 8k, which is never happening.
You can also see it isn't 450hp by the pace. Shame really as it's a sick motor, but it's the internet and big numbers are the name of the game
Honestly I think in this case the owner is mistaken rather than plain BSing. It’s apparently a built engine, so in theory it could handle anything a K04/hybrid/G30 could throw at it. I just wonder why it’s forged and only on a stock K04. Did it once have a bigger turbo and R-Tech got the quoted 450 out of it under its previous ownership? And then before this guy picked it up, the previous owner took off a no doubt rather valuable hybrid/BT, then put a K04 and suitable 2+ map? 🤔
The engine itself sounds nicely done. Roller bearing HPFP for example. It’s definitely ripe for a genuine 30psi from a proper turbo in the future, regardless.
But yeah, current owner probably a bit misinformed rather than swinging pub figures around. Either that, or I need to meet the absolute wizard who was the first tuner on record to map a K04 to 450bhp without making a big expensive mess in his dyno cell 😉

Yeah got you boys, It might well be a hybrid like you say seems strange to do all the engine work, deffo a forged CDL etc had a lot of work done to it. This was filmed on the first map so I'll change maps and do some more filmimg with butt dyno. Guess it's hard to see turbo on these without pulling them apart? Deffo rips though

DDG Developments in Manc were building a DAZA Caddy with an Iroz 800 kit. And did an old iron block 5 cyl in TR Hamza’s. Both on UA-cam. Hamza’s channel is excellent btw.

It is forged so maybe had a hybrid!? The owner weren’t the person who built it so likely talking numbers that he was told by the guy who sold him it. But you’re right 450 not possible on current turbo setup 👍🏼
Yeah I may have well got turbo wrong but no paper work for it, has rest for engine build, all the chassis stuff, bodywork etc but turbo not listed. Gonna change the map and report back
