Van driver needs to look at his rev counter not out the side window the whole way that’s why he kept missing the shifts and red lining it

If you know your car well enough, you don't need a rev counter with loud exhausts like that. You just have to listen, shoud be enough

I do like a modified van, especially a sleeper like that. But i think the guy needs to work on gear changes, would have won hands down. Great content as always by the way.

Jamie, you need to have two capable and consistent drivers do these races. So many times we’ve seen people who’ve won a driving licence from collecting cereal box, provide inconsistent results like today.

Anton finally won a race 😂 😂 ,great episode today as usual Jamie, I just eish the guy in the van handled his gear shifts well and focused on the speedometers more he would have gapped the gti in ever race but shout out to him for trying at least.

Definitely remember the nightmarish 2-3 shift in every VW I've ever driven seeing this one. Both are cool builds, but I'd probably take the van. It's just so unexpected that it definitely adds to the cool factor.

That van had some gear change issues all the way through. This what makes the manuals so interesting
I am from a country where cars are driven from left side. This is the most natural position for a manual car, 1st 2nd and 3rd are near you and you change gears with your natural hand, right hand. I think this is a disadvantage for right handed people in UK. To change gears with left hand and from far away to near you, seems like a hell to me.

The Golf being that low on its suspension makes it look like an audio exhibition car with all cavities concreted-filled. Many years ago I saw a Golf GTI looking that slammed at a sound-off - apparently it weighed 3tons and had to be trailered to the event because it couldn't move under its own power. Quite loud, at least.
I bloody want one of those vans. If you have an engineless caddy, is the engine/gearbox swap mechanically just a bolt in??

Van needs a big bright shift light set 200 rpm before redline , dont think he is used too staring at tail lights in a race it probably the othwr way around.
