Anyone that bought the Stretching Out lp in '76 knows this jam was infectious & undeniable, plus it was around 7 minutes long. They REALLY don't make 'em like this anymore.
But the Funk gots to have Soul for it to be good. And Soul gots to have some grease, some Funk, to get across. One don't exist without the other. On the ONE, baba!
This is real funkin' music right here!! Kids today don't know what what the hell they are listening to. I hate to be a part of a generation, who knows nothing about real music!
Quite the generalisation there... I'm sure what's popular has the majority of listeners, otherwise it wouldn't be called pop... but I think there are plenty of younger people who listen to real music, be it funk, reggae, soul, blues, rock... I've been listening to Little Feat since I was 16, reggae since I was 10... and I mean roots, not this modern angry ragga business. And all my friends listen to real music, punk and reggae, jazz, whatever. There is hope, and truly great music will never die.
