You are awesome! Best teacher I've found. Since I got my first adult pair of roller skates in late September, I needed some ideas and all the advice for practicing my skating during winter. Thank you! Great videos.
"I can feel them making me stronger" is such a positive spin to put on what I ACTUALLY feel these skates are doing to my calves and hammies right now LOL I'm going to keep this in mind every time it burns 😂😂
Actually it's hard how to learn how to use rollerskate because I keep falling because of the stone but it's fun, and I like your vids too it's so cool💞 I love it a lot 💞🤩
Hahaha, I get the under-helmet itch every time I skate in my kitchen. LOL Katie thank you because I have felt stuck indoors, not even necessarily due to the weather but rather other factors, and it bums me out. I was thinking of compiling a playlist of small-space practice videos, and then you posted this! I am excited to work on these for balance and strength. THANK YOU 💜
I needed this!! The only place i have to skate is a smell deck in my yard and i didnt really know what to do. I can combine this with some super short stroke skating and make a little routine! Thanks again Skatie!
Thank you for the videos Katie! Not long since found them but really enjoying them, and your delivery. Makes for a great watch for us and our regulars at our mobile roller disco :-)
Me too. That sound IS skating to me. My brother called me the other day and before he even said hello I heard wheels hitting a wooden floor and I instantly knew he was at the indoor skate park! 😂 😂💕⭐️
Love your channel!! And this is a great video - very practical and actually useful good techniques that are very applicable to really small spaces. big fan!
Our rinks are open at the moment but with covid it’s hard to say for how much longer. 😞 Earlier this year we filmed at lot outside, even in March but I couldn’t feel my fingers because of the cold! We may stay inside a little longer going into next year. 🥶 Growing up it was definitely 99% rink but I do love to skate outside more now.
When I'm just standing on my skates I do the slide shuffle. I didn't even know it was a thing tho. It's just something I do when I'm standing on my skates
Crossovers scare me on quads. On the ice the narrow blade is under the middle of the boot. On quads the wheels are outside the profile of the boot. More of a chance if I'm not super careful to engage the wheels with unsatisfactory consequences.
Yes. I can confirm, I’ve done that. Lock the front wheel from one skate in between the two on the other skate. I wouldn’t recommend it 😂 you’ll get used to where you wheels are over time.
I have a lot of space in my apt to share but I don’t know what are the best wheels to cause the least damage to my wood floor. Can you help explain which wheels ?
I’ve not found my wheels to leave marks. They can leave tracks sometimes but they just wipe off. Maybe just have a roll to test in a dark corner incase. 😂
How do you stay in position while doing slide shuffles? Just by standing still with both skates pointed forward I roll backwards... Cannot for the life of me figure out how not to glide away without moving my feet to a more V shaped position
@@Skatie it's good, I can't roll but at least I'm breaking a little bit the stiffness of the roller skates and getting some practise to not to trip on the skates 😂
A lot of the skills definitely transpose to ice. I learnt roller first but I also ice skate and can do spins and jumps on ice too. The weight is slightly different on ice. The back half of the skate goes in first more like a walking action. This stops the toe pick from catching.
Your videos are cherished by me. I am filled with gratitude. Your fun nature makes even the scary parts feel like they could be fun 😁

Thanks for another great video. Also, I *love* the sound of your wheels clicking on the floor!

I enjoyed the useful course. Have a good day.

i'm getting a pair of skates soon so I can spend my summer raking so this video has really helped
Skating in the sunshine is one of my favourite parts of summer. Enjoy. ☀️
Great video, right on the point.
Thank you 💕👍
This was great! What a perfect way to practice inside for a beginner. Ty!
Thank you so much. Hope you had fun xx
Yes, definitely can do in the kitchen.....exhausted in the heat though. Thank you
🥵 ☀️ it’s been crazy hot here too. 🇬🇧
The video i didn’t know I needed
😂😂💕⭐️🛼
So you have your own rink lol that is so cool!!!!
I wish!! 😂 we hire a small village hall once a week. One day….. 💭💕😎👍
@@Skatie that still cool. It so annoying to skate in rink with a million people bumping into you while you are trying to spin lol.
I will try this on my kitchen floor.
Ok, I'm getting there! 👍🏾
You got this!
Love your channel!! And this is a great video - very practical and actually useful good techniques that are very applicable to really small spaces. big fan!
Thank you so much. What a lovely comment 💕🛼👍
So per my snagging a wheel on my stove while practicing today 🤨, I’m looking for all the small space advice out there!
Thank u!
Oh no! I hope nothing got broken. 💥
@@Skatie just my pride. 🤣
been loving your videos and ive been using them to get back into rollerskating!!
Fantastic!! Enjoy 💕⭐️🛼😀
Thank you so much 🤩

Amzing content, thank you 😊

Hey, curious when weather permits, do you find that you skate more outside than at the rink? Are your rinks open now?
Our rinks are open at the moment but with covid it’s hard to say for how much longer. 😞 Earlier this year we filmed at lot outside, even in March but I couldn’t feel my fingers because of the cold! We may stay inside a little longer going into next year. 🥶 Growing up it was definitely 99% rink but I do love to skate outside more now.

Brilliant you’re practicing without even knowing it! 🤩🤩
good skats😍

So, yeah
I have a lot of space in my apt to share but I don’t know what are the best wheels to cause the least damage to my wood floor. Can you help explain which wheels ?
I’ve not found my wheels to leave marks. They can leave tracks sometimes but they just wipe off. Maybe just have a roll to test in a dark corner incase. 😂
I wish I had a good pair of skates. i like to skate
What skates do you have?
Do we need a assembled floor to protect our floors if we are renting ?
I roll on my laminate floor inside and I haven’t seen any damage, just general wear over time. My two girls skate up and down my lounge at 100mph! 😂
How do you stay in position while doing slide shuffles? Just by standing still with both skates pointed forward I roll backwards... Cannot for the life of me figure out how not to glide away without moving my feet to a more V shaped position
Leaning on the inside edge can work similarly to the v position. It helps anchor the foot
Can I practise this exercises on top of a carpet ? Because on the apartment I have that tiles with grout and the wheels get stuck 😓
Absolutely. It’s great to learn balance on a carpet.
@@Skatie it's good, I can't roll but at least I'm breaking a little bit the stiffness of the roller skates and getting some practise to not to trip on the skates 😂
What kind of leggings are you wearing. They look cool. Where can I buy those?
These are ice skating tights. They’re called over the boot stirrups tights.
OK, that's good. I have roller skates
Quick question, are these transferable to ice skating?
A lot of the skills definitely transpose to ice. I learnt roller first but I also ice skate and can do spins and jumps on ice too. The weight is slightly different on ice. The back half of the skate goes in first more like a walking action. This stops the toe pick from catching.
@@Skatie i think i know what you are talking about, thats the rocker right?
@@Skatie I'm finding that out. Balancing is different.
You make me feel not embarrassed when i fell.
I’m so glad. It happens to all of us! Don’t let it hold you back ⭐️⭐️💕🛼
Great video. What’s the name of the leggings you have on
These are actually ice skating leggings they’re super thick and warm. If you search for figure skating tights they should come up. xx
